    I purchased one but it keeps giving me a solid red dot and does not work. Do you have any idea how to fix it?

    • @Quadcopter101
      @Quadcopter101  3 месяца назад +1

      Solid red light means the device has malfunctioned. You can't fix it. Instead, contact customer service for the vendor that you purchased it from (Amazon or Potensic) for a refund or replacement. If you purchased directly from Potensic, email them at info@potensic.com . If you purchased from Amazon, click on "Returns and Orders" in upper right corner, find your order, and click on "Return or replace items".

      @@Quadcopter101 I won mine... so Potensic won't do anything about it since I did not buy it from them (these are units Potensic sent out for him to give away) 😕 Even though they said it is a factory programming error.... so... off to amazon I go

    As a non-part 107 pilot flying a drone 250g and above, you have to renew with the FAA every three years. It's not a one-time fee.

    You do NOT have to use a pin. The little rubber line that sticks up on the long side of it is made for popping it open. You almost did it with your thumb in this video. Just rub up on that little protrusion with your thumb and it pops open.

    Tried to buy it for a few months now, but they dont send it to Europe.
    I need one :(
    (I used your link from Amazon and was able to order one and it will be shipped to the Netherlands.)
    A little higher price then original but its worth it.
    Thanks, and always glad to see a new review you made :)
    (BTW .. your promotion code is NOT working)

      The code is likely expired by now. I'll remove it.

    Thanks for video. As a recreational flyer of drones and RC planes, can you just move the RID from craft to craft without having to go thru the registration process for each craft flown? I.E. have 10 planes/drones and only one RID device...Thanks

    • @Quadcopter101
      @Quadcopter101  4 месяца назад

      Yes you can. As a recreational pilot you need only enter your one time FAA registration number.

      @@Quadcopter101 Thanks for the quick response, been following you for years. I started with the Syma X5C as you said back then," a quad your mother could fly". Still have it today and use the Jumper T16 with 4in1 piggyback to fly toy units. Not sure what new in the way of toys that now can be used with the 4 in1. Again thanks for the great videos.

    I think I will buy one for my $20 that weighs 250.00000000001 grams. Or maybe a dozen in case it falls off?

    Tempted to buy one just to tape it under the airline seat in front of me. 😎 I’m no fan of RID and won’t be complying, but I do appreciate you getting this info out there to pilots who are interested in picking up a RID module. Thanks.

    Can this device help you find your drone if it crashes far away?

    • @Quadcopter101
      @Quadcopter101  5 месяцев назад +1

      No, not currently.

      @@Quadcopter101 Thanks. I ordered one so I can see if I can spot it with my BlueHound app (it's a Bluetooth scanner app). I use a Bluetooth tag on my drones in case I need to find them after a crash (never need it luckily but it helps me fly with more confidence). I am also interested in RID in general. Hopefully as a published standard, I can read the GPS location from the device as this would make locating a drone very simple indeed.

      @@BlueHound Let me know if that works out. I almost lost an airplane yesterday because it crashed in a field full of high weeds. Took me a half hour to find it.

      @@BlueHound No. But it can help to find you if you fly 1mm too close to an empty barn in the middle of nowhere.
