That said, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are going to go down as one of thee best American and international groups in history. Truly the link from old school 50s and 60s all the way through grunge and beyond. Ask any group today and they all say Tom Petty influenced them. Visited him when he was just starting with The Heartbreakers. Beautiful new house. Very happy and kind. Took me to dinner at The Beverly Hills Hotel. He was sweet and funny and humble. Was crushed when he died….
