Non-Pharmacologic Treatments for Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain in Children and Adolescents
Brief Description:
Dr. Kashikar-Zuck will present on 1) the evidence for cognitive-behavioral therapy, exercise-based and combined interventions for complex musculoskeletal chronic pain conditions in children and adolescents, 2) the pros and cons of self-reported and performance-based measures of outcomes in behavioral trials, and 3) the relationship between psychological constructs like fear of movement and biomechanical assessment of movement characteristics. She will discuss how recent research findings are being used to create more precise treatment approaches for pediatric chronic MSK pain.
