Ohhhh... I get it now. Humans weren't the ones that sent the colony ship; the humans are the ones that destroyed the colony ship. It was the Commonwealth of Man.
Funny how Paradox are the clear leaders in all things strategy. I look back on stuff like GalCiv3; a game that simply doesn't dream big, and is just a carbon copy of all things previous. Thank you Paradox for daring to dream big, and be different.
I mean, i still play Galciv 3 Mostly because i love the ship designer. Say what you want about the bland ish gameplay, but its ship designer is literally the best i have ever seen. side note: Also, i really liked how in galciv 3 you could assign ship roles, like assualt ship, support ship, carrier, artillery etc. I hope they add that into Stellaris sometime
oh, wow, you come back to this now... and it's just so damn successful and you think back to this when it was first being released and you can practically smell the potential
"Stellaris is the new science fiction strategy game from Paradox Development Studio, the creators of Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron." W-w-what about Victoria ;_;
Woah. We're eXtremely hyped at eXplorminate dot net. We were not expecting something so soon, but we couldn't be happier! We welcome our new Paradox overlords!
I like how they say warp drive which is wrong because they use hyperlanes, the mirror universe is the one where instead of hyperlanes they discovered the warp drives causing warp beast to invade
In the beginning the game used to have four different FTL drives, you chose between 3 of them in the beginning Warp drive, Hyperdrive and Wormhole and then further into the game you could research Jump Drives. But of course the other FTL drives were removed and only Hyperdrive(Hyperlane) was left and Jump drives. In my opinion that was a stupid decision and only made the game much more static. I don't think the Plotted path that is shown is hyperlanes as Warp drives had limited range so you'd still need to plot a path
This should be the INTRO to the game, or maybe the Reveal Teaser, their both just glorious. It's such shame they did not make it to the game. Nice work, whoever made these! (Also Ultrawide FTW!) //Found these trailers only just today after playing like non-stop from launch =))
Look closely. This trailer is from the point of view of another alien civilization who run into a more advanced civilization, Humans. That planet they depart from is not Earth.
Mansen Yeah, the planet was probably randomly generated. Us humans wouldn't have been on such a planet to start with though since we by default start on Earth in the Sol system. Of course we can meet the humans as another spices though.
For better or worse, we seem to be alone in our Galaxy (perhaps, we are the first technological civilization- we might not necessarily be the last, and SOMEONE has to cone first...) But there might be other galaxies like this right now...

Hmmm a new Paradox game I do enjoy their work, and I do love me some good space 4x Been sitting around waiting for endless space 2, so might have to get this in the meantime
The trailer makes it look somewhat more linear than it will be, I think. It would be interesting to see a set of trailers that show multiple perspectives of the same event (this one does that to an extent, which is awesome). The map at 1:57 is kinda sad, and it looks like a day 1 map. Lots of lonely little circles.
Huh, just decided to binge watch all of Stellaris' trailers and all here and...You'd think, in-game you'd be able to shoot unknown vessels but no, well you can but only to the neutral mobs I think? and hostile ones for sure. But against other AI empires/players can't. Even with shoot on sight when within the borders, they can go past your defenses and fleets unless you were at war then you'd definitely be able to shoot them. I find Stellaris to be one of the greater 4x rts games out there, the trailers and animations are superb and so is the in-game animation and design. Though clearly it is lacking in some areas, and one of those areas are being able to shoot other ships/stations without needing to go to war first as shown in this video otherwise. It would be nice if Ai/players can be hostile to one another without needing to go to war, like they can shoot each other whether it'd be for border conflict or something else. As for war, that's basically when the invasion or destruction of each others territories begin. I think paradox failed on that which is just one of many oversights but the game is generally still great but could be better.
Actually, it is possible to shoot down ships of an unknown empire before establishing first contact! For that, your first contact policy should be set to 'aggressive'.
@@upsidedownmussolini6832 Really? I remember setting it to aggressive before though, that or I mixed it up with something. That or it just really didn't work for me, just playing the base game btw so if it needs any dlc then, that's why.

it was mentioned that will be able to find more information about the precursor race and to eventually find their homeworld. Any chance that would actually run into the precursors themselves say that they come back and you'd have to deal with them
+internisus We try not to mislead, but we understand it's a bit hard to tell what's animation and what's in-game material. Everything that isn't 2D animation is recorded in-game. We just fired up a save-game and turned off the interface. :)
+Paradox Interactive I appreciate the clarification, and, again, it's a very nice trailer; you clearly have an attractive game engine. When I see a trailer described as "in-game," though, I expect to see recognizable gameplay that tells me what it's like to play; I feel that turning off the interface and unlocking the camera makes a trailer more cinematic but less informative. However, this doesn't seem nearly as egregious as what a lot of companies do with unrealistic close-up camera angles for games typically played through a distant, top-down camera. I admit I was leaning towards the semantic with my complaint, and I apologize for its bluntness.
DrunkardCow What non-sense is this? Paradox has always sold complete, albeit a bit buggy, games that are further expanded upon later. No day one DLC. Plenty of cosmetic DLC and soundtracks, which doesn't really impact the game.
+WebOnion yea these DrunkardCow and Nieznane Nieznane guys are dumb as dirt they clearly have never played a paradox game before or they would know that 1 the game is always complete when it is released unlike that EA and ubisoft trash all-tho sometimes a bit buggy and 2 if there is a pricey dlc it is always worth the money at least that is how it was in the past soo idk why they'd change now.
