Bueno; no tan, tan "especial". Tienen "ese algo" que he observado en ellos. He visto muchas bandas desfilar en ese festival transmitidas por la BBC; y la única que me ha gustado es WET LEG. Tienen un solo disco en el 2019. Espero que saquen otra producción y con nuevas variantes (no estilos) en cada canción, que no se dejen llevar de tanto tecnicismo para tratar de "impresionar" a la audiencia; porque sino van hacer más de lo mismo, en relación a otras bandas de su misma generación. Ahí está clave. Presiento que las demás bandas van a quedar a medio camino. Es mi modesto punto de vista a mi entender.
@@jcwheat71 bands that you wouldn’t know. Opeth are my favourite band , totally different but have more talent in their left toe. Love Black Sabbath too. If we are talking recent bands then I can’t think of any. It says a lot about the state of mainstream indie music if this is considered special.
@@purpleskittle94 Opeth is not my thing, I've been listening to Sabbath for 40 years. Wet Leg is great, the music is fun and energetic.
They would have fit in with bands from the 80s and 90s easy. They are killing it today. Love this band.

Definitely the 1990s. And they have some new wave (1980s) sounding songs too with the keyboards. The bass player and the drummer really are powerhouses. Really love this band.
Only been following them for a few weeks, since I’m a Chats fan, I stumbled over Wet Leg’s cover of Smoko. And then went down the Wet Leg Rabbit Hole.
Love bands that write their own songs, play their own instruments, sound as good live or better live, and inspire such great audiences. I do not care if they make the commercial radio circuit. These days they still get heard somehow. Thank God.
Rhian seems to have adapted to the big crowds, but it's still crazy to see Hester, the most introverted person ever, on these stages
Too funny. I think she's terrific but does seem terribly introverted.
I love them, they just make music fun and seem to have a great time doing it. Who else has done that lately?
And all without taking themselves too seriously. They're a breath of fresh air on what passes for popular music today.
@@marcusebenhack9053 true, I love that about bands (my fav band are TMBG after all, who were quite similar in their youth), and it was hilarious when they made fun of Alex Turner's speech, cause he does take himself too seriously 😄
The only thing that's a pity about Wet Leg is that the concerts are too short
@@L0REN0R2Z0RR0 yes. Saw them on San Antonio last year, drove a couple hours both ways and they played 45 minutes. I know they have more material and could have played longer but they were still great.
They’re getting very tight and polished in their stage craft. Will be interesting to see where the next album goes, whether it retains their kooky edge or whether it’s more out and out pop songs. Exciting!

Wet Leg are giving me so much hope for a sick new wave of rock bands. What really gets me stoked is that they're not sticking to the same old formula. They're mixing things up, trying out different styles, and it's paying off big time. This is exactly what the rock scene needs - a kick in the pants with a fresh breeze of creativity. Another band giving me hope for a fresh wave of rock bands is The Doublejumps, they're a band from my home country (new zealand). I've been telling everyone I know about them. Can't wait to see what these new young bands put out in the coming years.

I hadn’t been here for 5 years and I went on Friday. The difference in people’s spirit was apparent. It’s sad to see young people take themselves so seriously. It didn’t stop me from dancing and enjoying myself but I do feel for the musicians up there now it’s really tough crowds these days.
