I've been training HS for 3 years without being able to balance until I found your videos. Thanks so much Paul and keep up the great work!
That’s awesome to hear!!
I learned it on 3 days broo
Best handstand advice on YT!
100%
Wow thank you 🙏 great to hear!
Totally agree
excellent
I think this is exactly what I need to practice, thanks!
This underbalance trick is gold. Still need to practice it though 🙂
Yes it’s so important for a strong handstand balance
Amazing tips.
Thx a lot.
Thanks! For the feedback
Wow, thanks. This is exactly where I am at in my handstand journey.
Perfect! Drill this and it will make a big difference
I just recently discovered your youtube profile. I would like to thank you for sharing all this information, which inspired me that at 53 years old, I myself try some new things, especially I started to practice standing.
Greetings from Slovenia
Welcome aboard! And thank you for the lovely feedback
Thank you Paul for another great video and explanation. this is indeed my favourite exercise to learn the balance and it gets better from day to day. now i`m feeling better doing the right exercise, after you explained it here in detail. thank you very much and have a great day!
Perfect!! Let me know how the training goes
You sir are a saint, I have the strength to do handstand pushups and control the overbalance
but I didn't know what I was doing wrong to stop falling in the underbalance until I literally tried this drill
right after watching and I gained an understanding of what my shoulders were doing do to prevent me from falling in the underbalance.
I give my thanks to you for this revelation.
That’s awesome!! Great to hear
Great video. Thanks
Thank you!
Awesome drill!
Thanks, yes it’s a great one
I've watched so many videos on handstands and this is the first time I've seen this useful training approach. As always, a clearly explained video. Much respect!
He's the best

Thank u 4 this bro. Very helpful to me. Much ❤ from 🇳🇿
Great to hear!
Great advise!!
Thanks
What muscles do you feel most engaged on this under balance position…?
Thanks bro
Appreciate ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🙏🙏
No problem
Great video Paul thanks, I’m just at the point where I can hold a fairly straight handstand for 15-20 secs but am trying to push up into holding a straighter line. I’ve also tried the shoulders forward bit to try and work towards hand stand push ups but I fall out almost immediately so this wall drill looks ideal! Nice one mate!
Sounds good! Be careful when you’re freestanding that you’re not pushing outside your current flexibility. That’s very common and can cause you to fall
leaning from the hips is also a way to rebalance
Yes definitely, can be top heavy so I prefer to teach using the shoulders
Thank you Paul for your videos! I am 44 old, 110 kilo and you motivate me hardly!
Awesome! Great to hear
How many sets and reps would you suggest for twice a week training
I've been thinking about how one can get a better control of the shoulder flexion movement for this and think that practising lifting the arms in a prone hollow body position on the floor while maintaining muscle contraction in the entire chain may help too.
Yeah that could work, I prefer to use closed chain movements where possible, as close to the real thing as possible. Down dog to Planche (on tip toes) is a good one
Your videos are amazing. I finally realize the feeling about control balance by shoulder lean and wrist push, but those practices also cause a lot of pressure on my shoulder and wrist. I even can't sleep at the night after exercise. Is any suggestion that can let me train more often and painless?
Thank you! Decrease volume and intensity. Build the time and exercises slowly. Work on mobility of the thoracic, shoulders, hips etc (hanging daily works wonders!). Hope that helps
It burns my shoulders do much when I do these
Give them time to get stronger
Hey Paul quick question so should a beginner very weak in this position start with hands closer to wall and then as I get stronger and am able to hold the position move the hands out more?
yes but be careful you don't go too close as things will happen fast and you can over balance before the catch. Pre requisites would be a strong chest to wall handstand hold 30 sec +
Hi how do you keep yourself from falling forwards ? I keep on falling forwards when I try to push up to handstand after pulling myself off the wall
You are either using too much momentum or positioning the handstand to far up and over. Try pulling less and/or aim to position the handstand slightly leaning back to the wall
Sir I'm able to slide from the wall but I can't pull my toes..
Keep practicing and it will come. Try a spotter to build confidence. This one has more detail ruclips.net/video/wBpK02ltgrA/видео.htmlsi=vDNlzU2ebNbXPiUn
What kind of sets and reps would you do for this, Paul?
If you’re learning the pull from the wall do around 3 sets of 5-8 reps. If you do the reps well already, do pull to short holds in the handstand
@@PaulTwyman Makes sense. I feel like it would be useful for planche press as well, no?
❤️❤️❤️👍👌Love you experience, work fir me 🙏🙏
Thank you ! 🙏
You speak too fast
This is the most important video for my handstand game! thank you so much! going to work the hell out of this!!
awesome!!
