  • check out the handstand programs in my handstand and calisthenics app, The Movement Trybe:
    www.bergmovement.com/movement...
    Handstand ONE program is for complete beginners (struggling with wall assisted handstand and afraid of falling)
    Handstand TWO program is for beginner-intermediate handstanding focusing on learning to balance a freestanding handstand for 10 seconds and introducing basic form cues.
    Handstand THREE program is for indermediate-advanced handstanding and focus on bulding an efficient and good looking handstand for up to 60 seconds.
    In this Handstand tutorial I will discuss how to use your hand heel to prevent under balancing your handstand, or falling back down from your handstand.
    There are 2 techniques to do this handstand manoeuvre, that can be practiced through several handstand drills that will be introduced.
    Under balance is perhaps the most common issue in handstand intermediate/beginner practitioners and also one of the most difficult handstand balance concepts to grasp and get the hang of.

Particularly the position of the elbow facing each other. Thank to you my handstands and my kick up are better and better. And I now can press to handstand.

    Fantastic video.
    I was doing chest to wall handstands for close to a month , trying to get both my feet off the wall. however it felt impossible for me. I then tried to take one leg off the wall, still felt impossible. I tried so hard to press into the heels of my hand but it just didnt happen.
    I saw this video, and realised that my arms were externally rotated ( elbow pit facing forward ).
    i then understood how to internally rotate the shoulders, and made my elbow pits face each other, i went to the wall and did the chest to wall handstand, trying to get both feet off, and just like that both feet came off the wall.
    I am so happy with this form cue.
    THANK YOU SOOO MUCH. I WILL NOW WORK ON THIS LITTLE TIP AND TRY TO ACCUMULATE TIME ON MY HANDS.
    SHOULDER INTERNAL ROTATION AMD ELBOW PITS FACING EACH OTHER IS A GAME CHANGING TIP.

    I am not able to kick up to a handstand yet - I fall forward and then go into the handstand against the wall but this was a wonderful explanation of technique that I need to apply as I progress from where I am now. So thank you so much....look forward to your videos that are basic and yet very advanced.

    I always use the first method because I found out I dont have enough shoulder flexibility, now working on my flexibility hopefully makes balancing easier.

  • @Asadc1995
    @Asadc1995 10 месяцев назад +2

    Inward rotation of the shoulders he is explaining is really in fact hunching the shoulders forwards into protraction which makes the elbows pits automatically turn into internal rotation

    Every time I go into a handstand, my elbow pits are automatically pointing to each other, so I figured to be able to generate momentum to stop underbalance, I would have to get them to be pointing forward when I go into a handstand. No matter what I do, they are always pointing to eachother.

  • @blumenthalori

    I read that most tutorials recommend external rotation of the shoulder when hand standing , I understand you recommend otherwise??

    • @Sondre_Berg
      @Sondre_Berg  2 года назад +3

      Yes, internal for hand balancing. Exeternal rotation is for certain gymnastics elements and I believe there has been some confusion in some parts of the handstand community regarding this. In gymnastics, handstands is used in an entirely different way and they don’t emphasise balance to the same extent. So I am not at all saying that this is wrong, it is simply dependent on what you want to use your handstand for. If you at some point want to start your OAHS journey, then internal rotation is a must (not actually, but very useful at least)
