    This feature is spectacular and your explanation of it was super clear

      Aw hey that means a lot, I'm glad :)

    I like that it looks "vectorly" when you zoom in

    Yish and GP is only gonna get better. Just waiting for Geometry Node support currently being worked on. That will be amazing.

      ohh I can imagine! I've never gotten into geometry nodes personally but that must be so powerful with grease pencil

    Thanks for sharing that feature. Would never have thought to use it that way.

    Wow. This is a giant improvement for GP. I have recently been doing more animation with OpenToonz mostly over the lack of more "rastery"/ art focused features of GP. I want to do more animation that looks like natural media (charcoal, other texture like strokes). Do you think it would be possible to create more of a "chalk/pastel" type brush with the texture feature?
    Also, are you basically creating the material with "Stroke/Fill" on with same texture then turn off the Stroke portion later? And it still lets you work as if you were only doing Strokes vs Fill?
    Thanks for the video!!

      I'm glad you appreciate the video! In my opinion, a chalk style is totally possible, if you'd like to check out my brushes video I also released today, some of my texture brushes are meant to replicate that look: ruclips.net/video/KdW7i4AlFEE/видео.html
      To your second question, I've been making materials for this feature using only the 'Fill' component. I used the 'stroke' component in this video because I thought it would help explain, but I don't use it at all. So I just use fill materials, and this feature lets me draw with them as if they are strokes :)

    Brilliant Sophie, thank you very much! Answered the question I was trying to answer, as well as a few others I'd just accepted as compromises to working with Blender for illustration/animation!

      Saying that - I've just had a go in 3.61 and the pinning of another material doesn't seem to work the same anymore :(

    this is super cool something that stops me from using GP for professional work is the lack of good brushes. One other thing is how to export high quality for print. If you have any tips that would be great!

    • @SophieJantak
      @SophieJantak  Год назад +2

      I can understand that about the brushes, I've been developing different brushes over the months due to that lack. If you look up grease pencil texture brushes on gumroad some good things come up, and I am personally very happy with my own brushes, you can learn about them here: ruclips.net/video/KdW7i4AlFEE/видео.html
      I'm not sure I understand about your second point, since grease pencil is vector-based, you can increase the quality as much as you want. Could you mean maybe that you don't know how to export a piece into a PNG or JPG?

    Have you tried the beta version of GP 3.5?

    Does anyone have an idea why changing the brush strength isn’t changing the opacity of the stroke for me? I’m using the watercolor brushes from the texture pack. I’ve opened my file in several versions of blender but no dice.
