Brilliant tutorial! I'm sure it will help me a lot. However, I don't know what to do to deal with shots of people running that have lots of motion blur in them, or how to deal with eyes during the shots where people are far from view
Thank you 🙏😊. For now it's just some basic for simple rotoscoping 👍. But I did search on "How to replicate the motion blur effect" on some quick shot like running or even fighting action...I do have a hint about it but...it's not as easy to do 🤔 ... basically you'll need to duplicate your Greasepencil object and apply on this one a blur effect. Then you will have to overlay both the normal one and the blurry. Finally erase some of the parts to make a perfect mix 🧐. That's my theory but it's the close answer that I can do for now
Thank you so much! I'm working on a project and need to do this but I'm worried to try this on my laptop. I'm already gonna switch to desktop but I'm trying to figure out if I could squeeze out a 2D animation like this on laptop or just fully send it to desktop (sorry ik this is more of a technical specs question but nonetheless thank you so much for sharing these tips!)
No problem 🙏😊, always a pleasure to share and help if it does ✌️😉. Rotoscoping is very special art style, you can have fun with this or even use it to help you out to get a difficult shot 👌. At the end you can do anything with this 😁

How do you move the stroke of the body layer from frame 1 to 3? My problem is that the stroke is greyed out and can not select it to move and reshape it. I searched many places but couldn't find it. please reply, thanks for the technique tho.
Hi! 👋😃 I read your issue and I wanna know a bit more about how this occurred. So I re-watched the video and if I'm right you succeed to draw and sculpt the first frame isn't? And then the next frame you cannot do anything right? No selection? No changing mode either?🤔... which part is grayed out...the stroke on screen (the body circle)...I'm trying to figured out if you locked by accident the layer of the body (the lock sign)... or have try to select the body layer first (it should highlighted in green when it selected)...let me know about this first. I'll stay tuned 👍
@@tuat555 hey, thanks for the reply. So I figured out the problem. I did not copy keyframes from 1 to 3 with stroke data on them, instead, I copied the empty frame 1 to 3, and the gray was the onion of the 1st frame. A naive mistake on my side. Thanks a lot tho.
Ahhhh I'm glad to hear it😃. I tried to remake the action and I couldn't found the mistake you had😅. That's clear now for me either since you figured out🙂. I hope you'll finish that piece😁👍🌟. And no problem I always try to come and help whenever I see the SOS in comment😆👌
Thank you I'm glad to hear it🙏😊. Of course, take your time before buying tablet👍. To me you can easily do some good stuff without it😁. Having a tablet will just ease your workflow😉. Try a lot of things and have fun🌟
Mine was the cheapest one that bought in 2015. It's a WACOM INTUOS SMALL. It's a very a basic tablet, an ideal choice for beginner in my opinion. And also WACOM is a solid brand in the domain, so you can trust their products. 🙂👍
No problem 🙂👍. For your question to be honest I have no clue about "How the software run on a MacBook"🤔. I found the video of this guy ruclips.net/video/30l8YdOWvTQ/видео.html he's showing a bit about rendering and it seems to work well (and the video looks recent as well for the version he use)
Yes of course 😁👍! Basically if you're familiar with the software you will have to import your video not as a "reference" but as an "image plane". In that way the video will appear in the render as well as your grease pencil over it ✌️🌟
Okay so let's say you're in the viewport and you just imported your reference... and now at the top right corner of Blender there's the outliner panel. In it, you should find every object in the scene (the grease pencil elements, the camera, your reference,etc)...what you need to do is to click on the grease pencil object in this panel. And then try to switch mode...you should have access to the draw mode in that way 👍. Hope that helps 😁🌟.
Do you export each frame as a png file from blender and color each frame in an image editor program (for example let's say GiMP)? Is there some other step I am missing here? Blender only seems to want to render a white canvas.
Oh hey 👋😃! Everything can be done in Blender from line to color👍. Here I only cover the lineart and the process of drawing over the footage. Through this tutorial you'll end up with the lineart only with no color. But, what I will suggest you is to watch another video that I made specifically for coloring 🙂 ruclips.net/video/GBZiu3rYyTo/видео.html
And for rendering you could have this video ruclips.net/video/SpFwrQOpQ0M/видео.html around the 27:20 I cover how I render into a mp4 video 😊. Hope this will help! Cheers!
@@tuat555 One more question. Is there a way to make draw mode behave more like mask mode? I prefer drawing my keyframe outlines in that workflow but can't get it to happen. I also tried making masks every 4 frames in mask mode, but I can not figure out how to use those masks i drew as the keyframes in object mode. I hope this question makes sense.
I think I know what you're looking for 🤔. And yes you do have masks in drawing mode. I don't know if you're a new new beginner but I will try to guide you 👍. So if you open anew 2D animation scene look the timeline down below. You will find the layers at the left . Of course in the middle you have the timeline and keyframes. Then a your right there a column with a menu (Layer, Masks, Transform, etc). There you will find the Masks. Thick the back to activate the mask feature. If you develop the Masks menu. You will be able to add the layer to be masked. My explanation might be very sketchy but I will link you a video to get the trick 😉
could someone please explain something to me? When I import my video file it only plays the first few dozen frames but about halfway through the video it just freezes mid video. I need to animate the whole thing so could someone please give a solution to this?
OK friend here the solution. On the video watch from 0:30 for the settings when you importthe video. The issue you had is on the "Frame" section. Basically, you video freeze because you reached the frame limit to be read... what you need to do is to increase this "Frame" value to have more frame to be read...so you video won't be cut. 😉👍 Hope that'll help 🌟
Ummm 🤔 could you tell me more about it (I'm trying to figure out the situation). So you're trying to do the interpolation right? If it the case, look at your timeline. The interpolation or in-between works if you do have 2 main keyframes. (That the requirements). Then you will need to place the playhead somewhere in-between these 2 keyframes. Now by using the interpolation you should get the in-between. I hope I don't confuse you too much...let me know how this work 🙂👍
