this is so helpful, thank you! I’m especially happy to hear how to use the Transform Fill tool, that’s one I couldn’t find (I never would have thought to try the gradient tool) and was very sad to lose, so I’m thrilled that it still exists 😊
The UI is the problem; it doesn't resemble regular drawing programs and is complex for beginners and regular Blender users. I am a 2D artist and animator learning Blender to use it for 3D. I wish I could use both 2D and 3D in one software, but the program's interface is complicated. I need normal layers, regular panels, and standard tool options. I need all my options in the usual way, not as shortcuts or in different locations. The tool options in Blender are limited for now, and to do the same tasks as in other programs, you have to go through different processes to achieve it in Blender.
Hey, your tutorials on grease pencil are the best, could you create a course on story boarding with grease pencil for beginners and advanced users for creating short films/movies.
Grease Pencil is heading in a bright direction but there are still so many bugs that it's getting frustrating. For Example, 1. Blender files do not remember settings you make to the brushes (like color or size of the brush) 2. If you have layers panel expanded it'll reset back to default when you switch back and forth. 3. Draw Lasso on fill tool have lower transparency and it goes to normal if you duplicate the Fill asset. 4. (not a bug) No Boundry Strokes. and i can't find any alternatives. 5. Startup file does not store important settings like default brush color. or Brush Setting changes made. It does event remember what brushes were selected.
@@sheilafrancl1423 custom startup file does not store brush settings now. It used to do it in blender 4.2. I think due to brushes being a new asset is causing all of this i think i'll have make a custom brush and save it to have the default settings saved.
Not yet, unfortunately. Many factors preventing this - time, development, and that the full toolset is still lacking some key features. But I am already working on something for Q1 2025 so watch this space!
This change in the curve editing is a huge setback, because this set curve type does't work the same way. In fact it works in a way tha makes it useless and I simply lost a functionality that I use all the time. I'll skip this and any other version untill they fix this. I don't care about new functionalities when the most basic ones are broken.
Dear sir, I am making a pc withe these things.......... 1. AMD Ryzen 5700X3D 3Ghz-4.1GHz 100MB Cache, 8 Cores, 16 Threads 2. Gigabyte A520 DDR4 AMD Motherboard 3. RAM 16GB DDR4 4. SSD 256GB 5. It's price 750 USD in my country Bangladesh 🇧🇩 i have a small budget. But, my blender skill is good. I'm making this PC with money I have saved from many days.
the blender devs are genius! kuddos to them all!

Super helpful to have this advanced breakdown with such a clear presentation. Thanks!
I'm so happy to hear your take on GP 3.0!
I'm not switching until guides work again. But GP is getting better than ever.

SO MUCH WE CAN DO its OVERWHELMING ! in the best way possible

You can save a custom startup file and in 4.3 you can save at least the new brushes.

I hear you! - Paul.
@@cg_cookie , is it time you made a new Comic book tutorial on grease pencils?
All bugs should be reported the official way, things like the layers panel expansion is probably a quite easy fix.
Where my vertexs opacity, Where my vertexs opacity, Where my vertexs opacity!!!!
Nice summary.
Lots of improvements. Now if i could only draw as well as you 😂
Awwww! You flatter me - Paul
Mega new cool Tools.. Hope they update, improve further the asset system & UI.. Another YT B3d content creator had a great video about that topic .
donate to blender guys please let's blender growing up quickly💖💖🐵
How can I download screen space thickness node and apply it to the grease pencil?
Do you already have a new course greasepencil 3. I am interested.
Could not find the new course.

I don't know why they don't add 'snap to 2D viewport' feature and nobody talks about it.
I have never worked with Grease Pencil because it seemed so limited. Now, I have no idea how to get started. Can you recommend a beginners' course?
What drawing pad are you using
I'm still going through 4.3 but it's great so far
How to make after erasing the point, to make the point pointy again?
Are all those brushes now default??
The ones seen in the video: mostly. I created some custom ones also. Videos on this are coming.

Constantly crashes with minimal objects / tasks. Needs a lot of tweaks. Tip keep 4.2 ready.
Now if Moho (lost Marble) can work on a smooth pipeline between GP and Moho ...
grease pencil 3 with geo nodes tutorial ASAP PLZZZZZZ
It's laggy. Sometimes it's just heavy.
Bug fix versions are much more stable now. Try out the latest official build.
But rendering is still slow. Compare to other 2d animation
I stopped watching videos with permanent audio trash as a background
I am sorry about your sensitivities
