- Hi guys,
We're getting very close and personal in this one.
Looking at my scalp under a microscope. Getting a closer look to see what the situation really is with my itchy dry scalp before I seek professional help.
Disclaimer******
If you are squeamish or easily grossed out then just skip over the bits with the microscope. I hope this video is still helpful and a good watch.

I have coarse Asian hair. After doing lots of research and having a feeling that my scalp was problematic, I finally scheduled a scalp treatment at a salon that's familiar with my hair type. Initially, I thought I had dandruff and the gunk I felt was product buildup. Surprise to find out, it's both oil buildup and dry scalp - not dandruff! The scalp can tell us SO MUCH about our health from our diets (spicy and oily foods) to how much sleep or stress we feel. The woman who did my scalp treatment said my scalp told her it's tired! I felt that.. If you all have the money I highly recommend seeking out this treatment :)
Its so interesting seeing a scalp under a microscope!!
I know right, it's like you want to look about but can't stop watching lol
@@ChumaSoko Yeah. It’s like I will never stop watching.
Great and informative video! Also, what microscope did you use? :)
That was really interesting. Thanks so much for sharing because that was a lot more vulnerable than just talking about having an issue with your scalp.
Thank you x
thanks so much for the feedback Allison, I really appreciate it x
I'd like to do the same for my scalp, do you have a link for the microscope?
It's the Jiusion Wi-Fi USB Handheld on Amazon. I just got it. $29.99. I wish I'd done this ages ago! I'm so grateful for her post!
@@MindRegulatorMusic thank you!
I have super scalp soreness and tenderness. I need help. I am considering getting an $85 scalp treatment from a Black owned salon 💇🏾♀️ close by. It’s getting bad !
I would highly recommend going to see a trichologist if you haven't already. did you end up going to get the scalp treatment?
@@ChumaSoko did your trichologist help with your scalp issue or u will finding a solution for your SD because I have the same problem
@Wooddweller I know yr comment is >3ys old. Did you ever learn why you had such tenderness & soreness via yr scalp? I hope yr symptoms have subsided.
Hope it gets better soon. Have you looked at your diet and what you are putting in your hair?
My edges are not the best from heat damage, random how it happened. When I first noticed it, it really stressed me out and taking pictures nearly everyday didn't help and looking at it close in the mirror. But the picture from May and last month I can see a improvement. But it just takes time.
Try not to put oils or products directly on your scalp.
Thanks hun, I'm sure it will be once I see a professional. Hope your edges get better too 💕
Thank you for sharing your experience! You may have seen the Dermatologist or Trichologist by the time you see this comment, however, I was wondering if you may have a condition called CCCA; in its infancy stage? There is not a lot of research about it, but it afflicts those of African origins, and is characterized by, scalp tenderness, hair breakage in the crown, and scaling or scabbing. While I was not officially diagnosed with this, when I saw a Dermatologist whose specialized in scalp disease, this was their thought process. It is treatable when you catch it early. I hope you do not have it! Definitely explore it if your symptoms do not improve!
Treatable how? Any advice?
thanks for this info Lesleigh, it's so helpful, I have since been seen by a trichologist but I'm sure any info you have on treatment will be useful to know x
Hi empress, have you tried glover mane prepoo scalp treatment. It will remove the flaky scalp.
Due to the fact that this video is 2 years old you probably already kow what you have and how to treat it. However.. I thought I would share something with you anyway.
What you are experiencing is called February dermatitis also known as wet dandruff or yellow dandruff. We have a yeast that he's off of the oils produced by our sebaceous glands
If we produce too much of the oil that MF fees off of.. but basically go crazy! You will see exactly what you're seeing on your scalp. Separate dermatitis can also affect other part of the body. Typically in areas that have a lot of sebaceous glands. Personally.. I have had it take over not only my scalp but my entire back.
Prescription Ketoconazole is amazing.. it kills the NF and takes away each and information.
If
This was satisfyingly nasty 😂. Love to hate it and hate to love it😂

Thank u for sharing. I was experiencing the same thing in my scalp area.
Thanks for watching, I hope you were able to resolve it x
