Motherboard fit perfectly because Motherboard standard sizes havent changed. My dad has been building pcs since he was 18 (hes 50 rn) and he has kept every spare part he had. So, when i was building my first pc, i lost the parts kit that came with my case. My dad brought out a large container of spare motherboard standoffs and screws and low and behold, the fit still. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

A tip, since it's a sleeper PC, I suggest drilling a few tiny to medium sized holes in the front panel, so the vertical mounted GPU would beable to breath
2 of my PCs still have optical drives. One uses a Blu-Ray Disc burner, the other a DVD±RW drive. Both have Tempered glass sides. Thank you Thermaltake for keeping Optical drives going at least until the end of the 2010s decade.
The mounting holes have been the same for a really long time. For your next project see if you can get a 386 into one of those super fancy modern LED glass sided cases. Should work.
Lmao. Airflow will be almost non existent. The fan on the front and bottom are the only intakes and one is covered by the bottom of the PC and the other is just has small holes to pull some air in. The exhaust fans are probably doing the most because they are creating negative pressure and pulling in air from any crack that it can. That's probably the best air flow it will be able to get without more drilling. Haha.
I feel like there could have been more work to make the fan holes look more natural, like putting vents on the sides that look 90s/early 2000s, or putting the main fan grill on the back or using smaller fans or something, and getting a 7700 series amd which has similar specs but require less efficiency when it comes to cooling
You know that for Gaming the i5 is better than the i7 or i9? Its not about the amount of cores but how fast they are. I5 has lesser cores but they are a bit faster. Better for Gaming. More cores is better if you want to video edit or render videos.

I5 isn't bad... It's a 13th Gen too overclockable. It won't bottleneck the 4080 super and it will run just fine for productivity tasks too
It's a good cpu. The i5 13600k is a mid/high range cpu that can handle a 4090, so yeah, it's totally fine. XD.
