  • While the TCG rulings have mostly become the same as those in Japan, the OCG still has different rulings, that come up more often than not.

      You can't really say they don't communicate.
      Rather, there are sometimes just some small issues due to translation.
      For instance "attack" v "original attack"
      and the fact that they are translating thousands of cards and sometimes, mistakes can happen...
      You have to remember that humans can make mistakes even for English card games, much less a Japanese card game being translated into English...

  • @Shadowrulzalways
    @Shadowrulzalways 9 месяцев назад +2

    Another difference is the age range. In Japan the OCG is for ages 12 and up. In fact all packs and decks say “対象年齢12才以上”
    (Translation: “Target age 12 years and older”)
    Which implies it’s for early to late teen players. Which is accurate since the Yugioh mainstream series is a Shonen, which is a demographic of manga and anime that mainly target early to late teen boys between 12 and 18 years old.
    Understand this is only for the OCG not Rush Duels.

    So then how does ash even work in the ocg? She just never gets her effect bc everything she could negate becomes public knowledge before she is even able to activate?

    • @rpgrullz
      @rpgrullz Год назад +7

      What he means is that in the ocg you can’t chain block with cards from your hand like in the tcg.
      In the ocg: Open game state-> you normal summon tour guid-> activate her effect (cl1) -> priority is passed to opponent - and he chains ash as cl2 (or any card the can be activated), priority is passed back to you and you chain the kagemucha knight cl3.
      Chain resolved with knight special summoned, ash negating the effect, and tour effect being negated.
      In tcg: open game state: you normal summon tour guide and activate her effect (cl1), than chain kagumcha knight to it (cl2)-> priority is passed to your opponent. but he can’t chain ash to it.
      Same with koaki supplier (special summoned from hand when Rock is sent from field to GY:
      Link summon halq with adamancipator tuner and any other monster:
      In tcg halq effect is cl1 and supplier effect from hand is cl2, you can’t ash halq.
      In ocg: halq effect cl1, priority is passed to your opponent and he ash (cl2), priority is passed back and you can special supplier from hand.

      As long as they have the same speed and priority (mandatory/optional), yes. Then you can activate a quick effect after these.
      In the OCG the quick effect of the private Ash Blossom has higher priority than the (for example) private Kagemucha Knight, meaning you can't chain block Tour Guide with Kag.

      a after a trap is activated, you chain 1 the special summon monster (by the trap)’s effect, chain 2 your traptrix link1’s effect, chain 3 your opponent’s trigger effect (m8 his traptrix link1), then your opponent chain 4 effect veiler, you called by his veiler in chain 5, your opponent max C in chain 6, you then call Muitifaker in chain 7, because it is still the timing of if you activate a trap card, although it already across a chain 7 with called by as a quick play, it is still a legal play

Without the wording "Original ATK", that means you can use the ATK as it is currently. Let's say you bump a monster that had 2000 ATK to 3000 ATK, the effect will take into consideration the ATK that's currently on the Monster which is 3000. If with the wording "Original ATK", even if you bump the 2000 ATK monster to 3000 ATK, the effect will only consider the 2000 ATK which is the original ATK.
