@@GrayRain0 Yugioh has needed an actual system to teach new players in stages don’t get me wrong. But the game itself isn’t as broken as Yugi Boomers make it out to be
Yeah I'm a Yugiboomer and I tried master duel, now I'd rather learn magic the gathering!😂 Yu-Gi-Oh is broken and I overstand exactly why... There are way too many cards printed just to be stronger than the ones that were printed last set. Magic solved this by having different rule sets. (Standard, commander, draft, starter deck) whereas ygo hasn't started a single new format in 20 years (I guess duel links and master duel but they are digital only). Also what makes yugioh really broken is lack of resources. You can draw and summon your whole deck turn 1 and then they ban ftks and otks... It's obvious Konami has no true interest in managing a trading card game, and that's what yugiboomers are the most frustrated with.
I mostly play Magic but seeing Kabia use an interaction piece and stoping Yugi from going off is just card game gold. The mumbling and checking the cards got me as you are right the Voice Actor for Yugi nailed that mumbling perfectly. That bit got my dying in laughter
What's funny is that you do get a little bit of that in the anime, but it's reserved entirely for monologues about how screwed they are, and debatably to allow for other characters to explain what's going on. Singing a grounded on dramatic patrol is funny.
Because the classic episodes were made before the game officially existed and had no rules. We had to watch as Yugi's monsters attacked a Moon field spell in order for his opponent's water monsters to suffocate on the now dried-out landscape to win a duel. That's the game *I* want to play.
It gets EVEN better because that ACTUALLY HAPPENED. The entire duel is the YCS Indianapolis round 3 feature match between Jeff Leonard and Justin Singh with Yugi taking the role of Jeff and Kaiba as Justin. In that Duel, Jeff actually did forget to add the Infernoble Knight monster and Justin reminded him.
I saw this video in my recommended ages ago and ignored it because I figured it'd just be making fun of modern yugioh and/or the anime, but it's clearly made with such love for both! The dialogue is so delightfully dramatic, and it genuinely plays through and explains most of the combo! It's funny, epic, and absolutely wild. And as someone who hadn't seen the original duel, this was a TRIP. I was ready for some meta deck, and then got slapped in the face with Neo Space Connector. Then the whole, wild combo happened, and Yugi mentions searching for a dark spellcaster monster and I think "Oh wow are they actually bringing it back to Dark Magician?" NO! FUCKING EXODIA! I completely forgot that was a spellcaster! And then he mentions sending a spellcaster from the deck to the graveyard and I think "Okay now he's finding the exodia pieces" only to see fucking Blue Dragon Summoner! What even is that card!? Such a wild combo, can't believe it was played in an actual tournament. Thank you so much for making this video.
@@technotenor0487 Still YCS Indianapolis. You never bring Tears to Indianapolis or you lose to this exact sequence of events… I mean I guess he lost to those exact chain of events anyways, but it would have been way more of a legendary defeat with Tearlaments than Blue Eyes.

Most underrated part of this video is the build up when Yugi is doing the Seline line as if he’s about to go into Accesscode Talker only for him to summon cross sheep instead
I’m glad that even the admittedly more convoluted/complex game states of modern yugioh can easily still imagined between og characters like this, and have just as entertaining interactions. Considering the OCG structures manga exists, I hope Konami would think about doing more stuff like that

This is the equivalent of going back in time to the Civil War and taking a 50 cal sniper rifle.
What would be the equivalent of going back in time and taking a fully functional RX-78-2?
@rickytorres4213 Full power IshTear to LoB format
A .50 cal would be next to useless since no one had any armor and tanks dont exist then
No, it's actually like inventing pocket-sized fusion reactors just so that you can use all of that power to throw a rock at lethal speed.
@@NeostormXLMAX wrong
It's honestly super impressive how this is a really good interpretation of how a duel like this would go down in the modern day. The fact that it's a 10 minute long video and all of this is a single turn is genius.
Yugi Boomers will legit take every opportunity to whine about something they just don’t understand.
Man has been on his turn for 10 minutes straight and still hasn't stopped lol
@@FrostReaveyou’re right. New yugioh is scary. It made me go back to Magic
3:19 Yugi getting stuck thinking about what to do is so funny to me, the voice actor absolutely crushed it :)
And Kaiba helping Yugi with his GY effect right before that.
I mostly play Magic but seeing Kabia use an interaction piece and stoping Yugi from going off is just card game gold. The mumbling and checking the cards got me as you are right the Voice Actor for Yugi nailed that mumbling perfectly. That bit got my dying in laughter
Definitely is the most accurate portayal of a tcg player lol
What's funny is that you do get a little bit of that in the anime, but it's reserved entirely for monologues about how screwed they are, and debatably to allow for other characters to explain what's going on. Singing a grounded on dramatic patrol is funny.
The fact that Kaiba knows whats happening after Exodia was searched but can't do anything to stop the combo is awesome in and of itself.
9:01 actually the best bit in the entire video fr
That delivery of the "Ah. ...oh no." After Kai a realized it was a meme deck is hilarious and spot on.
Only a modern grandpa will make a meme deck. XD
i cant believe nobody is talking about "whos mokuba" in the comment section. that had me rolling.
Kaiba's reminder bit is even funnier considering that public/shared knowledge just isn't a thing in classic Yu-Gi-Oh episodes.
Finally... peak.
Oh Mbt
-not quite, you should've been cast as kaiba for that-
MBT, THANK YOU FOR RAIDING SLOWSER!
Well hi MBT.
1:30 At first I thought yugi was going to say “But it does contain POT OF GREED!”
Kaiba telling him to add the spell from grave made me laugh. Glad Kiaba is so helpful.
The fact he didn't run Dark Magician *at all* kills me. It's almost as if he knows it is just fanservice😂
The closest he got to dark magician is the xyz that's a dark... magician

"who's mokuba" really got me there lmao. wonderful work to all involved!
Thanks for having me, Red! Loved doing the iconic "EXODIA, OBLITERATE!" line.
Bro you killed it! The Voice is so perfect!
Oh, thank goodness, it's a human voice and not ai.
"Who's Mokuba!?"
"Big brother, I-" "Shut up, Mokuba."
The reason Kaiba switched to Tearlaments
You get it now
Tearlaments wouldn’t have saved him. This is YCS Indianapolis, where Tearlaments famously lost to an Exodia deck.
@@Endershock1678 this is YCS Indianapolis Japan.
@@technotenor0487
Still YCS Indianapolis. You never bring Tears to Indianapolis or you lose to this exact sequence of events… I mean I guess he lost to those exact chain of events anyways, but it would have been way more of a legendary defeat with Tearlaments than Blue Eyes.
@@Endershock1678 fair. As someone who played the tear mirror with the tear player on that stream, he played his next event with purpose
So maybe that loss was the kick he needed.
Idk why but "The unstoppable LEFT LEG" cracks me up

Thank you, Jeff Leonard, for inspiring Yugi to pull off a win in a losing spot.
The sheer number of adjectives really sells this for me
Joey having the 'chin' during the "One More Piece!" chant was actually perfect.
It's called the "Joey Face"
No comments on Yuya playing along with the hype?
"he hasn't been summoned since 2010 HAHAHA"
Force ghost Jeff Leonard is something i didn't realize i needed
That "Ah... Oh no" of Kaiba after he sees Exodia and realizes he's about to lose to a meme ftk was hilarious. The voice actors here had amazing delivery!
Okay this is the first video in a very long time to make me gut laugh several times XD
After a week to think about it, this is my all time favorite yugioh video. Made a legendary moment even more legendary lol
The roommate joke, ‘who’s Mokuba,’ im literally actually crying tears down my face I never do this oh my lord.
I was so confused over how this was gonna end.
Then he pulled out Exodia, and the realization hit me.
I couldn't stop laughing at "now he's playing BEYOND THE PENDULUM?!?!"
3:35 "Which will destroy it" sounds just like Hans the Hand from Spongebob
Kaiba pulls a Cleveland Brown!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Most underrated part of this video is the build up when Yugi is doing the Seline line as if he’s about to go into Accesscode Talker only for him to summon cross sheep instead
I’m glad that even the admittedly more convoluted/complex game states of modern yugioh can easily still imagined between og characters like this, and have just as entertaining interactions. Considering the OCG structures manga exists, I hope Konami would think about doing more stuff like that
"wait where's dark magician?"
i deadass was laughing for a good 30 seconds
Followed up eventually by "Flame Swordman my main monster"
"Hey that's my monster."
This captures the absurd nature of this duel but also with the more absurd aspects of the anime. It's such high quality
I absolutely lost it at 'These two roommates' when Isolde was summoned.
I love that the music building upto and during the summoning of exodia is the one from the anime where Simon summoned him to fight Zorc.
BRO IM CRYING!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It is so fun to see Yami to use pendulum cards cause obviously he would use it somehow cause most of them are magician. And he LOVE every magician cards
You probably foreshadow new Blue-Eyes and Dark Magician support. Dark Magician tapping into Pendulum and Blue-Eyes tapping into Links.
Somewhere down the future anyway :)
Honestly this is so real
@@fruitybluieblue098 I like your thought on this. Blue eyes inclines to link summon is the possible route cause obviously Kaiba will associated with technology,as link summoning depicted like a circuit board
@@sofarsogood8680 Give Blue eyes a Link 1 that needs a level 1 light tuner to summon that can special summon a blue-eyes from deck would be pretty decent support.
This is so quotable! I love "Who's Mokuba?" and "He hasn't been summoned since 2010!" the most. XD
4:50 I always wondered why Isolde had a 55% chance of destroying itself upon summon.

The best part is that this is an faithful adoptation of a real duel with only the final loop part outline and left as an execise for the viewer.

Took a bit to get going, but great once it got there. Learning the history just makes it even better.
I love the fact that one of the Exodia pieces is a different art. The Left Leg has the Spellbinding Circle behind it, while the rest is the original Star art. Very relatable in trying to get all your cards with the same art.
I have not laughed this hard in actual years, good lord. The fuckin’ dead Blue Dragon summoner, the realization of his imminent defeat, all of it just about had coughing up a lung laughing so hard.
The damn Timegazer sign too, almost forgot that clever bit.

@@theblan1k0ne Because it was so obvious. Nobody's commented that it's a RUclips video either. Does that mean nobody realised what platform we're on?
It's not a subtle Easter egg. The entire video, from the Jeff cameo, to the characters chanting "One more piece" to the fact that the combo itself is extremely recognizable, is a fairly obvious nod to the feature match.
