I must have watched ten videos on how to install a toilet could never figure out how to attach the bowel without some questions unanswered. This was great video and demonstrated EVERYTHING perfectly
I've used your videos three times now to change the wax ring and then reinstall a toilet after putting in new flooring. These are absolutely the best instructional videos, thank you! Amazed. FYI I am a 52-year-old woman and there is no reason why we can't do this stuff ourselves, ladies :)
Thank you sweetness! This single mama is saving $$$ and doing this replacing of my entire inner toilet thanks to you!!! 😊
You are so welcome!
Thank you sooooo much for this video!!! I changed the disintegrating bolts the right way with your video. Fluid master package said to use 1 washer each side which cause leaks immediately. I went to lowes and got extra washers and now have 2 washers per hole, one inside and one outside just the way you did it and NO LEAKS!!!!! Shame on fluidmaster!!! I wasted 2 days on this bull----. I will fix the other bathroom tomorrow!
One of the few video that go in depth into the washer order which is important.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, BROTHER!! Your video was PERFECT!!! I needed to see that I did not need a metal washer INSIDE the tank -- and that the rubber washer went on the bolt first!! And that leaves a metal washer for the bottom, just above the wing nut!!! I had the metal washer on first, then the rubber one, inside the tank -- so that when I got to the bottom, there was no washer for the wing nut!! So I came on RUclips and found your video!! Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!! You are a life saver! After watching your video.... I finally got the screws right. Thank you!!!
Thanks to your video I was able to successfully replace a toilet gasket and two eroded screws! Thanks so much! Women can fix things too!
Women are often better at because we have to be. I was an auto mechanic and also do my own plumbing work. I've gotten to where I can't even watch a plumber do any work because if they miss something, I'd rather not know about it. And, yes, they do miss things.
Best instructional video out of 7 or 8 that I watched, so I could fix my toilet. Thank you
I have watched several videos on learning how to replace the screws/washers/bolts and this is the easiest & most clear/understandable video to follow. Thank you!!!!
Glad it helped
The best video I have watched. I liked how you installed the hardware BEFORE setting it on the tank. I was trying to do that while the tank was on the bowl! Thanks for the detail explanation on how everything fits together.
Glad it helped
Great info. I really appreciated the level of detail. I had to replace the bolts as they had worn out on my toilet. I got new ones, but they came with zero instruction. Your step by step was great, and showed me where to apply every piece (rubbers, nuts, washers, etc.). Half way through I thought "I got this" and stopped watching. The initial flush leaked, so I watch the rest of the video . . . oh, getting it tightly affixed to the bowl creates the seal in the middle. Great video and saved me a few hundred bucks from a plumber. Thanks so much! Loved the sense of humor too.
And in response to the comment that said "this is too much detail, just call a plumber" . . . this is enough detail so I DON'T have to call a plumber.
Fabulous! I watched all 3 parts of your video Ben. With the help my son for the heavy lifting we were able to replace the toilet . OMG and it worked with no leaks. I think you should teach at a vocational -technical school for students learning to be plumbers. You are complete with all instructions, videos are clean,,, no head or hands in the way,,, and you have a very clear voice. Share your talents with those in the future who will take care of our plumbing needs. Thank You !!!!
This was very helpful.. We just bought a house and we couldn't figure out why our toilet is leaking, we replace our bolts and watch many videos but this is the only video that made it worked. Thanks you!
Best vid ive seen yet
Mr. Benjamin, God Bless you for your video. What a day today; I installed and replaced my tank 4 times today and finally figured out two things. One cheap universal washers and cheap gaskest that did not fit properly. (You get what you pay for!!!). As you said in your video, off to the hardware store. I bought the Fluidmaster Repair kit. First thing I noticed from the new fluidmaster kit provided much higher quality rubber washers. I followed your video to the "T" and even used a level and no more leaking. :)
PS - The original problem was the water supply leaking from the valve to the tank, which that was fixed with a nice new steel braided replacement. However, I thought to myself why not replace all the pieces. Thank you for your video and time to create.
Well done! Loved the detailed explanation of clockwise vs. counter-clockwise rotation. Very helpful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
From start to finish the best instructions I've found. Ben, you have saved my desire to handle what should be simple homeowner skills. Thank You!!
He is doing it the right way never put the metal washer inside the tank only the rubber washer against the bolt.
Dude, that installation process was perfect, finally someone to show me how to properly install my toilet tank.
Thank You!!!!!!
I had a tank that leaked at certain temprtures. Dremeled off the corroded pieces and had a fresh throne 5 hours later based off of this video. Thanks
Thanks for the instructions video👍
Thanks for sharing these videos. They answered a few questions I had while fixing a leak with the tank bolts.
Best and clearest video on the subject. Thank You!
Great vid. Thanks for addressing the order of washers, nuts, etc. That is exactly what I needed and what so many others fail to address.
Thank you for dumbing it up for us learning the basics! I sucessfully installed our toilet from watching your tutorial! Thanks a million! :)
This video was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Seen other videos and you explain it the best! Thanks for you video!
You made it look so simple.
Great job.
Very useful, thank you so much for taking the time to put together this great video tutorial.
Very good video. This video was so easy to follow step by step. All questions were answered before they could be asked. Thank you.
Excellent video!!!!!! I disagree with +luis centeno's comment because I'm a woman and I didn't have the money to have the plumber do it. You explained everything perfectly....so well in fact, I repaired the toilet myself. Thanks so much!
Thanks. Hope it turned out well

Your are awesome at explaining. Big thumbs up. I've done this before myself but I needed a refreshing video and like I said you are awesome. Thanks.
Great job. Very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Benjamin for the Info . Great video you made my job much Easier
Nice and clean cut video. It helps to explain the correct way to install the toilet tank.
Good video, good job.
You are a Natural Born Teacher! Thanks
Very good video! I will try mine tomorrow!
Excellent video, order of washers, nuts etc was helpful. However several other videos state NOT to put washers in between tank and toilet due to possible rusting. So I don't know what the do about this.
I installed my first toilet 🚽
That was a very helpful tutorial...helped me to do my first toilet install.
Thanks very much for taking the time to create this video, my toilet now doesn't link since you have shown how to attach the bolts that hold the bowl in place.
Thanks b.Phillips well explained .I liked your clip.
thanks soo much just finished my first tank install with your help.
Very detailed instruction. Thanks!
Am so grateful you were very helpful, thanks ♥️
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you so much for showing step by step it help solve my problem keep up the good work thank you
Well, now I can repair what I paid my plumber to fix! Thank you very much. :)
Thanks for the video man. Great job!
Amazing detailed instruction on the tank installation kudos to you keep up doing what you do a lot of us can learn from you A+ for you sir
Thanks 👍
Thanks!
Bought Plumbcraft tank to bowl gasket from Wal-Mart for ~$3 -- the big gasket aka spud washer seems ok (so far), but I was very disappointed with their brass colored, non-brass bolts which started to rust in less than 4 days.
Also, it has the wrong rubber washer instructions on the back. Which resulted in a leak. Thanks to this video for explaining the sequence of the rubber washers.
Just the information I needed. Perfect!!!
So glad!
WHAT A FANTASTIC VIDEO
Thanks, I had forgotten the order of seals and mine was wrong. Love the dancing bear shirt!
Awesome. My kit had no instructions this helped
Thank you ,Benjamin, you are the best at explaining the right way to assemble a toilet from top to bottom! Saw many videos before I saw yours and I kept yours as future reference when I have trouble with my toilet and to help out a friend.don't worry Benjamin I 'll make sure to tell them I got the tip from you! Thanks again for a job well done keep those vedeo s commutingVictor Arce Union City NJ
Me too.
Exactly what I was looking for regarding the correct order of the parts for the bolt/washer system!
Great video. My tank didn't leak. Thanks
You're awesome. Thank you SO much! I now know more than my husband. :-)
U are good keep doing it, thanks man.
Very useful, thank you!
Thanks very useful
Thank you for this video!!
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful. Thanks!!
Tanks a lot !
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great tutorial thanks
Thank you for the very detailed step by step video. I noticed there is a built in lip to the back of the seat that keeps the tank from leaning down. Ours does not have this. Instead, there were rubber pieces with extended knobs that were added to the bolt assembly to help brace the tank. The problem is that the assembly was put on wrong in the first place which made the tank leak. Could you post a video showing in what sequence the rubber brace (stopper?) goes for this other type of toilet that does not have the lip on the back of the seat?
Great job
I learned how to install a toilet AND learned my right from my left!
good info here . thanks
Very helpful
Glad to hear that
Good job man
Thank You!
Thanks Benjamin!!!!
awesome
Thanks u you help us a lot
Awsome Video
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
Was really thorough with difference between left and right lesson
Enjoyed the video's. Keep up the good work. Sometimes you were a bit too descriptive, but I prefer that opposed to not getting enough information.
THANK YOU!!!
I see many tutorials that only use a gasket inside the tank. No lower gasket and no hex bolt between the tank & bowl. Your method seems the more assured way to prevent leaks.
Excellent video I love the way the manufacture put the washers and nuts in order. Question: is it OK to put a metal washer on the inside of the tank on top of the rubber washer?
I would only install a tank to the bowl as I demonstrated in the video. Adding washers that may rust or have a negative effective may not be the best choice. Best of luck
Thanks!!!!!
Very helpful, thanks. Instructions supplied with my Toto were not very detailed or complete. (Some of the illustrations were minute.) Hard to find just this info on the net.
grateful shirt
Thanks For Sharing, I Was Wondering What The Correct “Stack” Order Is, The Rubber Washers Keep The Tank Holes Sealed And Protected On Both Sides Of Tank, With Only Metal Washer and Wing Nut Holding Bowl To Tank.
The Only Clock I Remember Growing Up Was That Cat With The Tail Wagging Below and The Eyes Going Back and Forth... 🥺😳🙀
#LeftAndRightIThink? 🤔 #GotPerspective? #DependsHowYoureLookingAtIt
So.....NO metal washer on the inside of the tank? Bolt, rubber washer and that's it? Secure from below with a rubber AND metal washer? Is it a good idea to tighten the bolts evenly to ensure that the bowl seats properly? Thanks and a great vid!
Thank You
Benjamin - a Deadhead is a Greatfull Dead fan. Adam Siket was referring to the bear on the shirt you were wearing in the video :)
Great
Great Job! Ben, have you tackled any skirted toilets??? At least I understand the mechanics of removing the tank, but not so much how to loosen what should be wing nuts! Thanks!
Thanks David, But I might need a pic/vid of the bolt that's causing you grief...sometimes the lefty-loosey and righty=tighty for bolts is reversed. It does happen that the threads on some bolts are running in the opposing direction. TY for the comments and please subscribe
"Here's a little tank and here's a little nut!"
I didn't know. Thank you.
Use the peanut butter jar lesson...put the lid on ....tight right😎
Righty tighty, lefty Lucy.
I wish I'd seen this before I had to swim out of my bathroom!
❤
thanks
I put the toilet tank on, but it wobbles a little. Is that normal? I’m afraid to tighten it too tight and crack the porcelain. All the washers are lined up, and nothing is cracked.
Good morning! I hope you had a chance to subscribe and like my channel.
As for the wobble, well, it shouldn't really do that. Some manufacturers supply a few small plastic or rubber "C" These would be placed between the bowl and the tank. The rubber "C" or horseshoe would be squeezed a little bit by the tank bolts to the toilet bowl. That would prevent it from wiggling. Look around the area and box and see if you may have missed those. Let me know.
Does this eliminate the running water sound?
If you have a running toilet then you need to look at a couple of things. First, is thee flapper seating correctly everytime? Second, is the fill level below the overflow tube (Center tube where the little water line fills the bowl)?
Let me know if this helps...sorry for the delayed response and hope that you had it fixed before this...
