I'm so happy that you two have found her. It's also a testament to how old I really am. Seeing you find her, brought a tear to my eyes. Her singing this was yet another attempt of hers at writing a song. She wrote the song while studying the guitar, and was helped by songwriter Paul Williams. I've seen several young music reactors say the same thing, that they thought Streisand was just an actor. Then, they find out that not only does she sing but that she had hit after hit in the 1960s and '70s and that she started out as a Broadway star in the early 1960s, singing in musicals, and became a director of films in the 1980s. It's for her voice that she's best known, though, which is why it always stuns me when people these days don't know that she can sing.
@@kennethward4985 For the most part she made the same movie over and over again. There was Funny Girl, wich was a great movie. The girl whom nobody thought could be a star because she was so different looking, and then by sheer talent she becomes a star anyway. This is what she did in many of her movies. And that's a shame. I thought she was great in Yentl. Great acting. Wonderful music. But very often she falls back on the Funny Girl routine.
OMG … Did u just say “She can sing”? 😮😂 You guys are too cute! Yes, my loves! She CAN sing! What you are seeing is one of the greatest “singers” of the 21st century! You two have to watch the movie The Way We Were. It stars Barbra, and Robert Redford. It is a beautiful love story where Barbra does the songs in it. It's one of my favorite movies.
Wow. I have to say; I've watched your reactions for a while but man, you just made me feel SO OLD. When I was a kid, Streisand was a singer (and I do mean a SINGER) who started doing some movie roles..... to you, she's an actress who can..... sing?? LOL. Fun to watch people discover her. If you get a chance, check out some of her songs from Funny Girl. That was her breakthrough Broadway role, which then got made into a movie that she also starred in, which led to..... well, you get it. Also, though there's a long list of duets I could recommend, my two personal favorites of her duets are: No More Tears (Enough is Enough) with Donna Summer (totally disco, so great, so totally great) and a duet from her first appearance on the Judy Garland Show (she was a teenager at the time, and she was so nervous singing with such a legend) and then she became a legend, but the vocals, and the energy, and the showmanship and genuine mutual admiration in this duet is just worth checking out. All the best.
Barbra Streisand was a singer before she was an actor/movie producer. Evergreen is a song from her 1976 movie with Kris Kristofferson called A Star is Born, and was one of the songs sung at our wedding in 1979. She's done tons of duets with famous singers; most notably Celine Dion (they are both powerhouse belters!) Barbra Streisand is probably most known for her hit The Way We Were from the movie of the same name. She's an iconic international superstar! ruclips.net/video/jT0IXTXAnmo/видео.html
Chod and Dee, you have just discovered a truly amazing singer. I bought one of her first albums when I was in high school back in the 60's. Her catalog of music is remarkable and deep. Songs like The Way We Were, People, You Don't Bring Me Flowers, Memory, Somewhere, and many more. And yes Dee, Evergreen has been played at many weddings.
There's so much to say about this icon with a career spanning over 6 decades. Her first movie was Funny Girl back in 1968 her first album titled "The Barbra Streisand Album" and at the age of 13 she had a hit record titled "You'll Never Know". Barbra Streisand was the 1st woman to write, produce, direct and star in a major studio film titled "Yentl". There's another song of hers you'll love, it's titled, "The Way We Were" in which there's a movie of the same title and Barbra stars in it along with Robert Redford. Really, this was awesome, thanks!
Before Meet the Fockers she was the greatest pop singer from the early 60s thru the early 80s. This song Evergreen- is her Oscar winning song from her 1975 film A Star Is Born. Barbra is a LEGEND!!!! You need to do a deep dive on her career. LEGENDARY!
Yes, this song was very popular as a wedding song at the time. She won a Grammy Award and an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for this song - she co-wrote it with Paul Williams.
No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) is a duet did with Donna Summer. You haven't reacted to Donna in a very long time. You should react to her again perhaps Last Dance, Mac Arthur Park, On The Radio. Prisoner by Barbra is a great song theme to the movie The Eyes of Laura Mars.
The world first came to know Barbra Steisand in the early '60s as a singer. That took her to Broadway and movie musicals where she could also demonstrate that she could act. Which led to more acting: comedies and dramas. And also directing and producing. She's among the small elite group of EGOTs, having won at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. Perhaps she's won multiples of each, I don't know.
Barbra Streisand has been a super star since her first hit, "People," circa 1962. One REALLY has to live in a cave without having heard of her. Her name is pronounced STRISAND.
Asking if Barbara Streisand can sing is like asking if a fish swims or a bird flys. She was the voice of a generation. The song 'Evergreen' is from the movie 'A Star is Born' she starred in with Kris Kristofferson. Listen to that version of this song from the movie.
LOL! "She can sing!" Barbra is one of the greatest Broadway stars and singers of the last century. She later became an actor and director. Check out her disco song with Donna Summer.
So many great movies/musicals that she has starred in since the early 60s. Hello Dolly, Funny Girl, and a Star is Born. Not to mention great comedic/slapstick movies like What’s Up Doc.

This songbird has been recording albums and appearing in musicals and stage production musicals since the early 1960s! THIS IS WHO BARBRA STREISAND IS! She began her illustrious film career in "Funny Girl" in 1968 and has had great success as an actress and director but her voice is the gift she gave to millions and there neither has been nor will there ever be a vocalist who can touch "Babs"!

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Streisand is the second-best-selling female album artist in the United States with 68.5 million certified albums in the country, (the only female in the top ten and only artist outside the rock 'n' roll genre)and a total of 150 million records sold worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists. You should watch her movie "A Star is Born" from 1976, this movie has been made 4 different times (with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper starring in the last one) but if you watch the 1976 movie with Barbara you will hear her sing some of her best songs. p.s. this movie was the first movie that ever made me cry. also her last name is pronounced "stri - sand".
Chod and Dee, you just opened a true treasure box here. My late Mom and Dad introduced me to Barbara's music in the early 70s when I was a kid. She had already been in the business for over a decade at the time. It's easy to fall in love with both her voice and her honest love for music. Almost every year she'd release a new album and some years we'd even get two. She was a true hit machine too ... she's had dozens of Platinum albums and quite a few gold and silver ones as well. In my day she was always in the top 10 for her singles, sometimes as high as #1 or #2. My Mom's favorite was Woman in Love, my Dad's was Alfie. For me it's always been Prisoner, it has a bluesy rock feel to it.

I thought EVERYONE, knew Barbara. Come on you guys, SHE IS A LEGEND. The queen of Broadway, and everything else in between . The generation missed a TON of good singers!
Barbra
LOL, you guys know her from Meet the Fockers? That's so funny. She's one of the greatest singers ever.
All that is fake...those "reactors" are fake...i'm not american and she's known all over the world as the most magical voice of those past 60 years...are you become brainwhashed in this country or what!?
Love how the youngsters are mesmerized by hearing Barbra sing for their first time. So many of us know that feeling. I continue to be mesmerized for over 50 years now. Yes children, check out her library of work. She’s a legend.
It’s so strange. The universe must’ve flipped. Are we devolving like that movie where everyone in the future is drastically dim.
@@ed.z. Ha ha ha ! Yes we are ! It's time for us to leave...Well , as for me , when Babs is gone , that's it , I'm gone ! I don't want to stay on a planet where dimwits upload clips where they sound like quacking ducks proudly confessing their blissful ignorance of anything that is not their own little universe, starting here and stopping now.
Barbra is a true living legend, she is in a league of her own, One of the most iconic voices of the past 60 yrs, thanks for the reaction.
“Does she have hits” 😂😂😂young people crack me up, you have so much to listen to and learn, well done.
I love this. She is one of the greatest singers of the 20th century. She made her name on Broadway in Funny Girl. One of the greatest icons of the modern stage.
She's in a league of her own. One maybe the greatest singer ever. I remember her back in 1965 singing the great song People. She had so many great songs.
She is a national treasure. Phenomenally talented. Listen to everything you can!
She sang the song Evergreen in the movie A Star Is Born!!! She sang and played in countless movies. She starred in the movie with Robert Redford in The Way We Were. She sings the theme song The Way We Were. I have followed her career since the 70's. Great actress and singer! What a legend. ❤️
She is one of the greatest! You must dive into her catalog. Singer, actress, director.
I'm so happy that you two have found her. It's also a testament to how old I really am. Seeing you find her, brought a tear to my eyes. Her singing this was yet another attempt of hers at writing a song. She wrote the song while studying the guitar, and was helped by songwriter Paul Williams. The song was done in her backyard for her concert "One Voice", which was also a fundraiser, and yes, "Whitney Houston" was in the audience...stating "This is the only show in town!!!
She is considered one of the greatest singers of all time.
Exactly, there was Barbara before Celine.
She had the most amazing breath control. She can hold a note longer than anyone.
Barbara’s last name sounds like this Stry Sand! As good a voice as any female on Earth. A Diva of Divas. Hit after hit she is legendary as much as a singer as she is as an actress.Try reacting to her songs The Way We Were Woman In Love Guilty, and You Don’t Bring Me Flowers!
Look up her singing memory and the way we were ..amazing 😊
Streisand is the original GOAT. Not even arguably-the best voice of all time. Loads of famous movies going back many decades. And people wanted to sing with her, not the other way around.
I would say arguable but yes she is extraordinary
@@sashek8451 agreed
@@dianesorensen2549 I dont 't. Her voice is on a planet of its own. The others might revolve around it like satellites but couldn't dream of touching it...
@@sashek8451 she is the elite of the elites. If we want to argue who is the best, fine, but she is definitely in the conversation.
She is a singer first an actress second, a voice like velvet, lungs that last forever, terrific!!!
A voice like "buddah".
A director of importance as well. She's directed quite a few movies, Fiddler on the Roof for one. And starred in it!
o yeah. She the greatest singer of her generation. Like Judy Garland was before her. She can sing the phonebook and still blow you over.
Amazing singer for sure, but her movies were much more hits than her songs.
You guys are too cute!
Yes, my loves! She CAN sing!
What you are seeing is one of the greatest “singers” of the 21st century! (She’s also an award winning actress)
“Meet the Fockers”was a movie she did late in her career!
I suggest that the both of you experience her award winning movies and her vocal accomplishments that gave her status worldwide as a global superstar! 🥰
Barbara is going to blow your mind! 😊
It WAS my wedding song! She has been one of the greatest female singers since the 1960's!!
mine too...1982
It was my Wedding song too! Barbra is incredible!
She doesn't sing, she SANGING. She is one of the BEST vocalist that ever existed.
LEGENDARY!
This song and The Way We Were are my two favorite Barbara Streisand songs. This song always gives me chills!
Dee you're a star! You were so shy when you first started your reactions. You guys should give a listen to Barbara's "The Way We Were".
Oh you guys. You have 60+ albums to check out!!! Listen to her live clip from the 1960's "when the sun comes out" she's maybe 20 years old
So many great movies/musicals that she has starred in since the early 60s. Hello Dolly, Funny Girl, and a Star is Born. Not to mention great comedic/slapstick movies like What’s Up Doc.
You both are adorable but oh, my, not to know who Barbra Streisand is as a singer is shocking. The greatest singer of her generation. You got a lot to listen to.
One of the best female singers who also acted .
Simply, the greatest singer in my entire lifetime.
She was a singer first back in the 60s, she started acting pretty early on, quite a few movies including a Star is Born back in the 70s! Quite a talented lady!
I was fortunate enough to see Barbra Streisand in concert a few years ago! She is magnificent!
She has always been a singer who acts. A great singer!
Barbra...one of the GREATEST vocalists ever!! She enunciates the words so clearly...she's multi-talented as many shared.
She and Barry Gibb (Bee Gee’s) did a couple duets together in this same concert.
Great reaction guys! So glad you discovered Barbra’s singing. So many terrific songs for you to discover. By the way, she’s the only artist in history to have #1 albums in each of the last 6 decades. You HAVE to check out her duets with Donna Summer and Neil Diamond.
AND Barry Gibb with Guilty!
Wow this was sooo cool...to have both of you totally blindsided by an artist!!! Best reaction I have ever seen on this channel!! She has more..........
I'm 67 and have seen nearly EVERY comedy film and TV show ever produced as well as the best stand-up comics to ever grace an audience on stage but I have NEVER laughed so hard as when you said "She can sing?" This songbird has been recording albums and appearing in musicals and stage production musicals since the early 1960s! THIS IS WHO BARBRA STREISAND IS! She began her illustrious film career in "Funny Girl" in 1968 and has had great success as an actress and director but her voice is the gift she gave to millions and there neither has been nor will there ever be a vocalist who can touch "Babs"!
She is a REAL legend !
In my opinion, she is the greatest female singer of all time. Also, a great actress and director.
Barbara Joan "Barbra" Streisand (/ˈstraɪsænd/; born April 24, 1942) is an American singer, actress and director. With a career spanning over six decades, she has achieved success in multiple fields of entertainment, and is among the few performers awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT).
I was fortunate to see her in concert a couple times. She's got a once-in-a-generation voice.
She first became famous on Broadway. There are some early videos of her on Judy Garland’s show. She did the films “ Funny Girl”, “On a Clear Day”, “A Star s Born” all very musical, and the title song to “The Way We Were”. She did lots f others but that would give you a sampling.
She's A World Icon, since the Late 50's she's known as one of the (for the most) Best Female Singers of the World,
the are not much singers who can get 5000 dollar for a seat, everybody want to go to her concert.
Her Voice is Simply the Best.
One of the greatest female singers ever… and you didn’t know she could sing? Young people. LOL
Omg she is legend. She wrote that song and starred in A star is born. She has mountains of hits. Multiple duets.
Barbara Streisand is an award winning actress and an award winning singer. She’s one of the best vocalist EVER! Her acting and singing catalog is extensive. You’ve got some rabbit holes to go down. lol
BARBRA has been my favourite singer for ages!!!!!!!

Maybe the greatest singer ever, award winning actress from stage and screen, movie director and producer, songwriter, and perfectionist. I still have the album she did with Barry Gibb. Pick any song of hers, solo or collaboration. Pick any movie.
For a real treat, watch the movie this Grammy winning song is from - "A Star is Born" (1976) co-starring Kris Kristofferson. Beautiful movie ❤
Wilburn , how could you not know she was a singer, she went into acting later, and its pronounced Stry-sand.
Barbra can sing ANYTHING from show tunes to rock to disco to classical. And she has perfect pitch. She also wrote that song for A Star is Born which she starred in. She became a star at 20 in Funny Girl on Broadway.
I know reactors hate to hear "How can you never have heard of (fill in the blank)!" & I never say it. But I had to laugh at myself 'cause it's the first thing that popped into my head.
Ms. Streisand is quite literally one of THE most famous & beloved singers in music history, starting in the 60's & on to this day (not just the 70's & 80's as some commenters said).
Others have listed some of her astounding accomplishments. She is the true definition of an icon. I hope you listen to more of her gorgeous voice..."The Way We Were" is a good place to start. And the movie is a great one.
So is "A Star Is Born" with Barbra & Kris Kristofferson (another icon) as starcrossed lovers in the music business. And it's better than the remake with Lady Gaga imo.
Love you guys! Keep going.
💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙
She's literally one of the greatest voices of all time. You're gonna have fun with her catalog. Listen to NO MORE TEARS ,her and Donna Summer.
OMG why haven’t you known that Barbra is a singer? Please react more to Barbra! A Piece of Sky, The Way He Makes me Feel, Somewhere, The Music of the night, What Kind of fool, Woman in Love and so many more!
Have you heard Yentl medley covered by Lara Fabian? Also a great performer
Barbra Streisand is an American actress and singer. Her discography consists of 117 singles, 36 studio albums, 11 compilations, 11 live albums, and 15 soundtracks.
She wrote this song with Paul Williams
Prisoner is one of my favorites too
Barbra Streisand -pronounced "Stry" (rhymes with "dry") and say "stry-sand". She was a singer first with hits since the 1960s, started in nightclubs, Broadway theaters and has starred in many musicals and movies. She's also a songwriter and movie director. She's won numerous awards including 10 Grammy awards, Emmy awards, Golden Globe awards and many more.
Please react to her and Donna Summer's song "Enough is Enough" from 1979" they're great together.
She's sung with Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder too. My late mother loved her so much and so do I. I'll never forget her taking me to see her performance in Central Park. I couldn't have been more than 6.
Streisand is an EGOT.... Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winner. Luminous talent. Check out her catalog of show tunes, like "My Man". A belter.
She starred in the second film of "A Star is Born". Thanks for featuring her on the channel.
It was the 3rd A Star is Born
She was one of the greatest singers of the last 60 years... her early movies are treasures.... Watch 'Funny Girl', 'Hello Dolly', 'A Star is Born', 'The Owl and the Pussycat', 'Whats Up Doc', etc etc etc...
I'm glad you guys did this one, my favorite of hers, Barbara is known for her great voice not her acting. The "e" and "i" has a long "i" sound for her last name. You should check out the movie "A Star is Born" with Kris Kristopherson for a quick run down of some of her music, she's been around since the 60's and had so many great hits. I would recommend "Are You Watching Me Now" from a Star is Born.
If you don't know Barbra (not Barbara) Streisand is a singer, and you think she's most famous for The Guilt trip and the Focker movies, it's time to confront your total lack of cultural awareness and educate yourself. She's easily one of the best singers of all time, easily among the most famous singers of the past century (heard of Sinatra? Garland?), and has sold more records than any other female artist in history. She's also won an Oscar for best actress (Funny Girl), an Oscar for best song (this song!) and is one of the very few EGOTs - winners of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards. "OMG She sings?!" Sheesh.
4 octave range. Best voice of her generation. She won an Oscar for writing this.
She's the mom in Meet the Fockers...she can sing as well ? Had to laugh at that Barbra is one of the most famous and greatest singers of all time and you only know her from that film. Really funny guys and I love that you keep getting surprised
She's only possessed of one of the most sublime instruments in pop music history. Her tone...her range...her control - all impeccable! Barbra's next level, my man.
You guys should watch more of her her voice is considered the best by many vocal coaches.
Surprise surprise! You know her as an actress but she is primarily one of the greatest singers ever to live. She started as a singer but her talent couldn't be confined and needed other outlets. She has a song called "Woman In Love" in which she hold a note mind boggling long, and it's my fave by her. Just think Chod, if you had stopped doing reaction videos, all of the amazing music you would be missing. So glad that you decided to stick around. It's a win win situation. You get turned on to fantastic music, and we get to watch you enjoy the discoveries!
Waych A Star is Born from the 70’s. You will see so much more of her singing talent.
