Bought this wallet in black and LOVE IT. I have been using the titanium version for years, this leather version just makes it a bit softer to the touch, and softer in the pocket. It's a nice throw back to the vintage leather wallet of the past while keeping to the Ridge form factor. It's a win for me.
I’ve had the brown leather version for about 5-6 months. Feels amazing. Soft and very high quality. I was afraid the edges wild peel over time, but no, still looks brand new. Very impressed with this product.
I purchased a Ridge wallet and tossed it back on the dresser after using it for a few months, why you ask. Although the wallet has rounded edges, it is still a hard cased wallet which wore holes in the rear pocket I carried it in. Two fairly new pairs of jeans are now used for working around the house. The other issue is I carry many cards related to business and travel, it's a pain to try to find the exact card you want without pulling all of the cards out. I also found that the cards tend to slip out of the case. A couple of times while removing the wallet from my pocket the cards fell to the ground. Overall opinion is I would not recommend this wallet to anyone.
Great review of this wallet. You made some good points but thinness has no meaning on if it’s full grain or not. You can use a lathe and make any peace of leather as thin as you want. A good way to tell if it’s full grain is take a really close look at the leather and see if you can see tiny holes where the hair used to be.
I just bought the leather version on sale for $99. I've had an aluminum ridge wallet for a couple of years but I wanted to add an air tag, and when I went on the website to look for the air tag attachment I saw this leather version. Anyway, I think I can explain the leather patch on the cash strap, on the aluminum and titanium versions there is a metal clip on the cash strap. They probably didn't want to have the metal scraping and damaging the leather, and the strap looked too dull with nothing on it. So they added the little leather patch for decoration.
I just got the mountain voyage co. Carbon fiber model and I love it Even tossed it so over for fun and not one scratch, can one hand it and even nail tick it for precision
I was debating whether I order one or not. Not only I learned more about the Ridge wallet, but I also learned about the leather goods, in general from this video (and I grew up with a shoemaker's home during the '70's). I will definitely buy non-leather, if I do decide to get one from Ridge. Thank you.
Used original metal ridge for one year but stopped using it because the rounded metal corner made a hole in my jeans. Even though its rounded it still has a metal edge that made hole in my front jeans pocket.
I’ve had my Ridge wallet for over 7 years and I’m amazed at how well it’s held up. The elastic band is as good as it was when I bought it. However I’m just ready for a new one and I’m digging that brown leather one. I have no worries that it will last at least five years based on my previous experience.
Thank you for removing the leather plate. I was looking at making my own leather plates for these wallets but I didn't have one and I was curious how they were attached.
I got one for 40% off. Ive only had it for a couple of weeks but its holding up pretty well so far. I keep it in the same pocket as my keys and its still almost scratchless.
@@jameschoi3720 you get a one-time code for 40% off of any order over $100 after you make your first purchase. After I bought my first one I decided I didn't like the design as much as I thought I did so I used my code to buy this one, then sent the first one back for a full refund.
I think. That all ridge wallets are for people who wants a premium wallet and don't mind paying the price. I have 3 ridge wallets myself. This "leather" looks good.
I don't buy ridge wallets but I do but rossom wallets that are a close clone of ridge and they also do most of the plate versions that ridge do but at a much cheaper price including the leather models and something that is similar to the burnt titanium which they call burnt gradient the way that I see it ridge wallets must be some sort of scam because rossom does something very similar but at a vastly lower price point and the only major difference between the two is with rossm you get something that is a slightly Lower quality in parts and build but not massively and only ridge carries a lifetime warranty which as far as I've heard only covers the elastic and screws so ist comprehensive and probably you can only claim on it once so is the slightly higher quality and limited lifetime gaurrentee worth a lot more money?
I still prefer normal leather wallets. Sure, the design is simple and elegant, but even if it can't break (with metal), it still feels hard and sometimes uncomfortable in your pocket. Also, you can't put coins in it and when I put the wallet on the table, everyone (in the company, I'm working in an office) can see how much cash or cards I have. In my eyes, it's just an unnecessary and overpriced gadget that rich people wants to have, or wannabe rich society.
I think this is for me! I had given up on ridge wallets because they kept cracking my glass screen protectors. When I only have 2 pockets, like when wearing athletic shorts, I put my phone and wallet in the same (right) pocket. (keys in left)
@@SwaySenseiabout to say the same thing lmao 3 year warranty for a product that's being used EVERY DAY? I'd just assume the company has no faith in their product with that kind of warranty.
I bought the brass ridge wallet and its a hunk of junk almost made it to 2 months with it to find out that its plated and not brass it doesnt patina the coating scratches off with ease im so mad that i wasted my money on this junk and wouldnt have paid more then 10 bucks if the disclosed this information.

I’ve had ridges that ended up tearing my pockets to hell. Maybe the leather edges would help minimize that.

Well i just place my order to this leather ridge for $99 at BB so i have a good deal and add air tag clip to replace the leather strap 👏👏👏
idk if its because the video is only 1080p but to me it just looks like regular aluminium one but in orange
yeah, they don't look much different. It has a different feel, but very similar in appearance.
The leather is going to wear out and gt marked u.p. leather stretches too. I don't like the idea

are they just out of stock on the black leather option? I know they had one on their website when I made this video.

Not with a minimalist wallet. They're not big enough.
Full-grain leather? I'd say pleather or leather colored paint! LOL! Good try by Ridge...but yeah, I'll have to pass on this one. Nice review!
