      @@BeastMadeReviewsto be fair, you make a % of the sale w/ an affiliate link. I mean do you, but this is not a good argument lol.
      DM pays like 13%, right? 13% of $170($22.10) is a lot more than the 8% of $70($5.60) that Ridge pays. Ridge has wayy more affiliates meaning people are a lot less likely to click your link if you're "pro ridge". Let's say you make 20% on $15 ($3). You'd have to get 7+ more people to use your link. And we all know these $15 wallets aren't paying 20% lol- maybe 3%($0.45 or like 200 wallets to make the same money on one sale.. I mean you could be 100% honest, but just bc other wallets have affiliate links doesn't mean you're not making substantially more by hand-picking them. (;

    XSTO all the way! Been using it for 6 years. Just luv it! The last wallet you'll ever need. Read some comments about card edges being eaten up. Just keep the one or two cards you use the most at the front. I had just received my Ridge, and I was looking for a tutorial on its use. What I found were videos showing that not only is the Ridge minimalist wallet the only one of its kind, but there is a whole market of minimalist wallets made by several other companies too! 😲
    Anyway, I see how disappointing it is that the Ridge uses a little thumb slot to push the cards out with (you actually have to use a thumb nail to push out a specific card) when they should have made a wider slot in the center or by the side to push them out instead.
    The money clip for the Ridge looks like a neat accessory to hold cash (folded bills only) but it is not fair that it has to be ordered separately.
    My only gripes are with the little slot and having to buy the money clip separately later (imagine how silly receiving a little thing like that in the mail would be).
    I took pride though in purchasing it, because there is a The Ridge company located here in Canada, so the product was delivered pretty quick (in about 2 - 3 days). 😄

    I actually like the ridge wallet with one exception. Sometimes you need to carry papers and not just plastic cards. For example some government cards also require a paper to be carried with them to be valid. There is no place in these types of wallets for papers. Money clips attachments do not work as they do not protect paper. So, back to a regular leather wallet I’m forced to go.

    I still don't get the attraction of these.
    You can carry 12 cards ok. You want the one in the middle, what do you do ? Pull out everything then pick that one?
    Separate cards compartment seems much more practical.
    Also non CC sized cards, what do you do ? Run around without your health insurance card cuz it doesn't fit ? Car insurance ? Registration ? Leave that in the car for car thieves convenience ?

    I have an Aviator and, whilst it looks cool and the cards are easy to access, it's terrible for cash. Putting it under the clip is fiddly and using it is a pain. The coin tray is too shallow for £1 and £2 coins and rattles annoyingly, even though it's lined with felt. Very cool for cards only, beautifully built but no good for cash and very fiddly to adjust.

    Now I know that you wouldn’t go out with a pink wallet, (maybe you would )😊, but my wife would, and would definitely take the pink Cappla wallet of your hands. In all seriousness though, I just bought a Ridge wallet, I would have had a much bigger choice had I seen this video first. A few of my friends have asked me about the Ridge wallet, and I’ve pointed them all to this great comparison review.

    Oh yeah on the price of the decadent minimalist...in titanium you'll have that wallet till you lose it or its stolen versus hiw long for the elastic band on any of these others. I recommend the extra money for the titanium version as the materials both light and EXTREMELY strong so damaging it a very hard proposition...the aluminum can flex and distort if squished to hard in a weird way. Only thing ill give these over it is the rfid blocking, which is something you have to add "cards" to it to do the same thing. The old addage, buy once-cry once..plus it can be custom laser etched if bought from the main website versus amazon

    Yeah idk I dont think its a good thing for a wallet to 'disappear' in your pocket. I think there should be a distinction between comfort and presence in the pocket and the reason I still carry bi-folds is because they hold everything conveniently, are comfortable and while they arent as thin as a Ridge or whatever, I am always able to tell that my wallet is still in my pocket. I dont want to get to a point where I am comfortable being able to forget my wallet is on me.

    • @reeb9016
      @reeb9016 Год назад

      I have a Trayvax Contour and it's very small and disappears in my front pocket. It's not likely to fall out of a front pocket. Head to head, a bifold in the back pocket is much more likely to fall out, and more likely to get pickpocket. And as far as disappearing in the pocket, it's always been there when I reach in my pocket for it. So it doesn't really disappear 😉

    Hmm... These slim wallets aren't really for me. Came to this video through all the ridge sponsoring but what I'm missing in all of these is a more practical ways to store cash (both bills and coins) since here in Germany you can't always pay with a card (which is really backwards and annoying imo but that's another story).
    Still, great comparison, helped me a lot, even if it's just knowing that I don't want any of these.

    Ridge clearly pissed this guy off somehow because he's recommending designs that are clear bullshit and somehow saying with a straight face that they're better than Ridge. This was anything but an honest and objective review. It kind of felt like low-grade propaganda 😂

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  6 месяцев назад

      No review is objective. The only thing that is objective is the spec sheet. Otherwise any experience by definition is subjective experience. With that said, you missed the part at the very beginning when I said “Ridge is a great wallet.” In fact, you can watch my full review of Ridge to find a favorable opinion. This video was highlighting different wallets that are trying to beat Ridge at their own game. That’s the point. If you like Ridge more, great! But criticizing someone else’s opinion doesn’t validate your own. We can agree to disagree and don’t have to resort to being rude.

    • @AdamTartoria
      @AdamTartoria 5 месяцев назад

      @@BeastMadeReviews I didn't miss any part of the video and I couldn't care less about Ridge. I'm also not disagreeing with your opinion as much as I can't bring myself to believe that your stated opinions are actually sincere. Am I making an assumption about you? Yes, of course. However, you were highlighting wildly inadequate products and I couldn't take you seriously. If you don't come across as believable as a content creator that's ultimately a you problem. Have a good day 😊

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  5 месяцев назад

      @@AdamTartoria Well, at the end of the day, if you don't like the video, you don't have to make a rude comment. If you think it's inadequate, go create something better. Simple solution. Otherwise, I guess I will have to ignore your comment altogether.

      It really depends on what you are looking for. I prefer minimalist wallets in general (either leather or these new metals ones). I got tired of using huge leather wallets. Some people like to put these in their front pockets too, which isn't something you can do comfortably with a thick leather wallet. I think it's really what you prefer. There are great leather minimalist wallets too.
