    Every time you respond you showcase your ignorance - thank you, keep ‘em coming.
    BMW's US manufacturing is done in SC. The factory produces the X3, X5 and X6. That's it. In fact, it's the only production site in the world for the X3 and X6. (Can you provide a source for your "As they say" nonsensical garbage?)
    As for America cars selling in other countries - it's called branding. Look it up, you may learn something.

    all those extra moving parts in an OHC engine cause friction witch needs larger amounts of oil you weigh an engine dry add extra weight for extra oil Chevy is smart they figured out how to have less transmission fluid By adding a couple air scoops under the c pillar to cool the trans axle added 7 speed standard and with the new DFI it can shut down half the cylinders to make 30MPG torque is action Horse power is potential,1000 Hp with 0 torque.=nothing

  • @sirlonghair

    and displacement is also a bad representation of size try the actual dimensions and weight as a comparison and then I might add center of gravity 4 heavy cams High on the engine is not as good as 1 deep in the center for cornering weight is the best measure of size in a car then gas mileage over complication has snatched there torque away and forces consumption of gas pitiful wrong thinking the push rod has evolved from billions of man hours and millions of races

  • @iwasadeum

    Not to mention the majority of American performance engines put out better power and torque numbers, while also being FAR more fuel efficient.
    Example: ZR1 is roughly 130 lbs heavier, puts out 70 more horsepower,and a ridiculous 200 ft/lbs more torque, and yet the Corvette can do 15/24mpg, to the Italia's 12/18mpg (WITH START-STOP technology)...New Corvette is going to do 30mpg, with 450hp and 450 ft/lbs of torque.
    You know nothing about engines, so don't go there again.

  • @iwasadeum
    @iwasadeum 11 лет назад

    Myths lol - that's hilarious; I provide you with fact, and yet again you just completely deny it. If it wasn't for Audi, Lamborghini wouldn't exist today.
    Again, another moron who thinks power-per-liter is the only indication of a good engine, but guess what, higher liter output means more torque. It's why a naturally aspirated engine is able to pump out 600 lbs of torque.
    Aventador V12: yes it puts out ~690hp, but only a pathetic 510 ft/lbs of torque.

  • @iwasadeum
    @iwasadeum 11 лет назад

    FACT: LAMBO WAS OWNED BY CHRYSLER FROM 1987-1994, when it was sold due to terrible sales numbers and un-profitability. Lamborghini went through several owners before finally being purchased by a company with money to burn, Audi (Volkswagen Group). What evidence do you need moron? Lamborghini built 5 prototype V10 engines. That is a simple fact kid. They were cast by Lamborghini for the Dodge Viper prototype. Dodge later began building the engine themselves for the production cars.

  • @sirlonghair
    @sirlonghair 12 лет назад

    The Mosler MT900S runs on an all-aluminum intercooled and supercharged LS6 V-8 displacing 5665 cc. The engine outputs 600 bhp at 6300 revs per minute and displaces a peak torque of 557 lbs per feet at 4000 revs per minute. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 179 mph. The engine returns an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg in highway conditions.

    Actually, the Anti American part is that you have downplayed every American car that has existed. I have not bashed any cars, but you seem to tell me that I am shrouded in a fantasy world that you don't live in cause you're Norwegian. I didn't know that because America doesn't participate in foreign racing events, all our cars suck. By your logic, the Koenigseggs are American, because the old ones used Ford engines and the new ones use the same engine, except they have the rights to build it.

    Must have done a lot of research there... The Aero is BASED off of a kit car, not an actual kit car. It is an actual production car, even recognized by Guinness World Records. Your "fact" about the 'ring lap holds no relevance, either. Nissan just let some average jack off on the streets do their lap. Also, what mods were used? Also, everything but the body of the new GT was American, the body being designed from the old one, which was with a partnership. Every American car being-

  • @palman18
    @palman18 12 лет назад

    I didn't know you're opinions are the only thing that matters. If anyone brings up any counterargument, you immediately take time to degrade the person and twist their words. I would say GT 40, but it's old... All American cars now suck, because they don't have prominent F1, rally car, touring car teams. You should get your facts straight, you hate our cars. I never said you hate America. But, you do have no life. If you hate our cars so much, go rub one out to a SLS or a GT-R.

    @palman18 12 лет назад

    Well, you are forgetting about the SSC aero... well, that's probably not up to your standards because (insert minute problem here)... You could have also brought up Volvo and Saab, they're from Sweden, too, but that doesn't help your point. You're obviously not lashing out in anger by commenting on these videos, trying to piss people off and start fights, but hey, who am I to prevent you from having what little happiness you have in you're life? You can take YOUR distastes to other videos.

    i'm not saying there's no place for the car you describe, but it would be sad if it replaced a big fast fun simple v8 muscle car. you cannot argue that electric motors are a cost effective way to get more performance, it's just not true. if chevy produced a hybrid performance vehicle alongside the corvette that would be great, but to cease production of a manual FR cars altogether would be sad. plus, the car you describe already exists, it's the porsche 918, fast costs a lot.

  • @pipelinewill
    @pipelinewill 12 лет назад

    dude, i'm not saying it's not a good idea i'm just saying that it's a new car, not a corvette. plus, look at the porsche 918, 4 litre v8, all carbon, but with the electric motor and batteries it still weighs 1700 kg. corvette is about being fast cheap and exciting, and with the current technology, those goals can be better achieved without hybrid drive. a more expensive, heavier (you're blatantly wrong about the weight thing btw) but still exciting hybrid would be bad ass, but not corvette.

  • @pipelinewill
    @pipelinewill 12 лет назад

    right so you want to draw energy from the heavy v8 to charge heavy batteries to operate a heavy electric motor, and drive all 4 wheels (also adds weight), and you think that is the way foreword for a fast, light, rear drive sports car? i would like to add, too, that all those things add to the cost (low cost for the performance in a corvette thing) and make performance harder to acheive. if chevy made a car like the porsche 918 it would be great, but not in keeping with the corvette name atall

    Instead of putting on a blower and track tires on a car with the build of a glorified cobalt. It will be better than the C6 yet not current compared to other cars in it's class.. IMHO it will be getting more or less the dual clutch paddle shift 7 speed that Ferrari and others are running. Going to direct port injection will make that smaller 5.5 or what ever they choose more powerful than the 6.0. Heck I have a 2004 Italian 4.2 that still leaves the US V8s without a blower behind.

    @blklightning330 Oh well theres nothing wrong with that! What makes you hate vettes so much?!? IMO they're an almost unbeatbale performance value. Sure they're not perfect,(chintzy interior, bad seats) but they're still pretty awsome cars. I couldn't agree anymore with you; the big three are all similar to each other because they've all made great vehicles, but they've also all made thier fair amount of junk too. My opened mindedness ends with Japanese vehicles though; they're all so bland.

    I love your reviews and you guys actually pay attention to the information that people would like to hear but..... Would you ever do a segment where normal people who aren't fortunate enough to drive AWESOME cars every day get to drive one and comment? it'd be a cool segment. Obviously test them first to make sure they can actually drive. but a contest to let us normal folk drive a car we only get to look at would be SAWWEEET! O and since I thought of it.. ME FIRST.

    @PattyManZ28 the corvette engineers test the new Corvette in the snow. believe or not, there are people out there who drive a Vette in the winter, why they do it... i dont know. but the engineers hafta test the new vette in every condition there is out there in order for it to be reliable enough for their customers.. they did the same testing to the C5.. in extreme hot and cold temperatures.

  • @SandmanHimself

    GM built an AWD, turbo V6, sleeper TRUCK... that for its time was embarassing even Ferraris. It was called the Syclone, and it came out in 1991 for 1 year, because it was even faster then the vette of that year. I don't get what exactly you want to prove here by capitalizing sentences and trying to sound intelligent by being an idiot? The AWD system in the GTR is its main advantage, and I can acknowledge that. You cry over DOT summer tires and call it 'cheating' with 'semi slicks'. LOL

  • @SandmanHimself
    @SandmanHimself 12 лет назад

    Nurburgring lap times only count when Imports pass them. When a ZR1 puts down a 7:19 to the GTRs 7:24, we'll just say he got lucky, right? Lord knows these American cars can't handle worth a damn. Lord knows the government owns every american car company, including Dodge and Ford. The Big 3 have been delivering same performance for less buck since forever. The Corvette ZR1 is nothing to snob your anti-american nose at. Plain and simple.

  • @SandmanHimself
    @SandmanHimself 12 лет назад

    Wow. This specific post is dripping in GTR-fanboyism. How does the Vette have a tax free existance, when the MSRP is pre-taxes? The GTR is not 'compact' by any means. Its big. Compare it against other older GTRs\Skylines and you'll see its huge. Lets not forget that 3.8 is also twin turbo... thats not NA. If it was, it'd be dead in the street. To think the Corvette ISN'T a true sports car, isn't real competition... is to be ignorant to the truth.

  • @SandmanHimself
    @SandmanHimself 12 лет назад

    I don't 'forget' anything. GTR isn't the first AWD system in existence. Search GMC Syclones, which were AWD trucks with a 35/65 system and they hooked like animals. The GTR is not miles away from the C6 ZR1. If anything, the only thing it has on the ZR1 is off line grip and doing the driving for the driver. Think how bad the GTR would get raped if the ZR1 had AWD launch control. Point is, this is an "IF". The GTR is a nasty car, but don't downplay the vettes.

  • @rvind92g
    @rvind92g 12 лет назад

    We can play that 'What if' story with the GTR too. What if the GTR was indeed lighter? Then Corvette would be definitely done for. Mind you, the GTR is already 5 years old, yet any significant victory of the Corvette over the GTR has been almost non-existent. I love the Corvette, but do many Corvette fans need to go around with paranoia affirming their timings and performance stats of the car rather than enjoying what is already a characterful car?

    @Jeremandre Giving the Corvette AWD would be a major insult to Corvette fans and enthusiast. Corvettes will always be RWD. The only thing they need to work on is the build quality and interior kinks. Everything else is good to go. And if the rumors are true about this new Vette, the C7 could be officially "The best Vette ever". While the rest were just named "The best Vette yet". I'll end it buy saying this though, the Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari boys better be worried.

  • @RobertJensen313

    So far... I see no competition to the gm 6.2l perfect hp-tq C7 Corvette Stingray beyond the Viper... realistically. At that the Viper.... I just don't think has it when the C7R is intro'ed let alone a C7 Z51 and most especially the C7 ZR1. Where's Ford for my first retort. I'm digging Fords lineup right now. But hell. Well yeah, don't know of any car company that would keep building an out going generation, while building the new one. The C6 will be done with the the C7 comes out. Also the ZR1 has over 630 horsepower. Pretty sure GM isn't going to give the new one over 130 horse power less. The C7 base will be some where around 475 horse power according to most sources I have read.

    This is outdated news. The base model C7 Corvette will have a 6.2L V8 putting out at least 475 HP. GM is bringing back the LT1 moniker as the name for the new engine. There are only two carryover parts from the C6 used in the C7 - the cabin air filter and the rear latch for the removable roof panel. Everything else about the car is new.

  • @griffielliott279
    @griffielliott279 12 лет назад

    So wait a minute couple of questions!!! Is GM gonna stop the production of the C6 model Corvette? And as I watched in another video with this new engine that they're putting in the Corvette is it gonna have a big effect on the horsepower? Cause in the video that I watched the man said that ZR1 model would be pushing out like 400 or 500+ hp not like the C6 model is this true?

  • @MotoGPatrick
    @MotoGPatrick 12 лет назад

    Re read my post. A stock naturally aspirated GM 6.0 vs the Maserati 4.2 which does not have direct injection. One is almost 1/3 displacement of the other but peak hp is about the same. About 400. With some tuning I added hp so it is above that. just because the C7 will have a smaller displacement does not mean it wont make some good power.

    Okay. No Cobalt I've ever seen came with recarro seats, carbon fiber center console, carbon fiber inserts and a leather dash. Secondly. You have an 04 Italian 4.2 that leaves US V8's in the dust with a blower? I'm really curious to know whats the HP of that motor?

  • @SandmanHimself

    LOL You always need to pay a bit more attention in a high hp rwd car, regardless where the engine is but I agree, thats another route... but the AWD setup would remove the driver equation, which is what the guys who think they can drive LOVE. Let the car do all the driving so you can make yourself look good by holding brake and gas pedals. lol

  • @iwasadeum

    Something I always use as an argument. In engineering, efficiency is always the best...
    Corvette ZR1 manages to get 634HP and 604 ft/lbs of torque.
    Ferrari 458 Italia gets 562 horsepower and meager 398ft/lbs of torque...ZR1 gets 15/24 mpg...458 Italia WITH START STOP technology only gets 13/17...

  • @sirlonghair
    @sirlonghair 11 лет назад

    you can force bad gas mileage yes but if you are trying to get mileage it is well within the reach of a C7 to get 30MPG average highway with the bottom end torque and 7 speed standard it is not an unrealistic number driven skilfully I bet it will achieve 35 MPG easy

  • @sirlonghair

    a 4 liter would actually weigh more. it would obviously be a small block ls engine, the 6.2 is a small block ls engine. so therefore the 6.2 is bored out more and has less aluminum on the block so the 6.2 would be lighter, unless they design a completly new engine block(which they won't)

  • @bowtiepower4275

  • @SandmanHimself

    If the C7 was indeed AWD (i know, blasphemy)... most imports would be done for. You could forget the GTR. Its only main advantage has been grip off the line. If that advantage was taken away, and say... the power of the ZR1 was put behind an AWD system.... Haa.

    Phuck interior, they should gut it! The inside of a should look like an F40, no radio or AC. A full blown race car that's not for the faint of heart. Leave luxury to BMW an Benz.

    i can never remember all these new names for cars like SLKwhatever, i wish they would give them real names like back in the day. 20 years from now, cars will be called QAWSERFT098765

    Jessi's hot. I came for the vette stuff and was pleased with the extra.....i really hope for a great interior in the new vette, and just wish the C7 was mid-engined... blasphemy? lol

    They're comparing the NSX with the Ferrari 458? I would have thought that the NSX would be compared more with the Porsche 918 Spyder, since they're both hybrid mid-engine supercars.

    Derek D would've pointed out that you can't get out of the back of a Tesla X in a parking garage with those ridiculous doors. Bob Shubin, Jr. will have one on his lot within weeks.

  • @PrimeEden

    I always views the NSX as a puritan's sports car. Making it all hybrid-y seems like it will kind of be killing that, especially with an automatic transmission. But, time will tell.

    seems like that tesla may have some problems in the parking lot or in a parking garage.. maybe not. But if I were driving it I would have to think twice before parking with those doors.

    Listen to yourself. You're a fanatic.
    But if it makes you happy, the GTR did beat the Vette in Nurburgring this year, by .63 secs. See fastestslaps . com

    So Chevrolet listened to everyone's bitching about the interior of the corvette being garbage. I hope the "upgrade" doesn't make the car too heavy.

    @PattyManZ28 Cars are tested in all types of extreme weather. You can't just make a car and assume it will only be driven in spring/summer type weather.

    I just could care less what Chevy does. Corvette is a dinosaur. Look at what Honda, Tesla, and BMW are doing! Amazing stuff. Corvette? Not so much.

    what would be more acceptable would be a mid engined c7 you can get that grip of the line and still have fun with it (just need to pay a bit more attention lol)

    That can be easily fixed. We just paint Hulk Hogan's face on the hood and have Ronald Reagan's face on the hubcaps. And PRESTO! All American cars.

    You didn't even use the latest Corvette logo for your story. That was the C5 logo. It takes a little integrity way from the story.
