I read in Geneva anyway you can park for free in the blue zones from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. How hard is it to find a blue zone spot would you think during that time?
There are two car parks: Löwen Center (underground) or City Parking (building), both are 24/7 and with night rates (incase you stay overnight). Löwen Center is a shopping center with a large Coop that has a great selection of chocolates. Enjoy!
I was in Switzerland 🇨🇭 2019 I was scared to drive actually 😂 I don’t know the rules there and the street most of the street really narrow:/ also I don’t understand the line colors .. next time o really need to drive there 😔
So if I rent a car, is it going to be paid parking pretty much everywhere? Or is there actually free parking some places? We are going to places like Lucerne, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Geneva, Interlaken, Bern. Any of them offer free parking areas? If so how do I know which are free? Thanks for your help!
If you don‘t spot a meter or a special sign in the white zone (white ground line), it‘s free. This is very rare though. In white zones, the night might be free, you will find the times on a meter or on a sign. In cities the night in the blue zone is usually free from 7pm to 7am (however it‘s very hard to get a spot at times). You can also play your luck and risk a CHF 40 fine and not care 😄 the rental company will bill you afterwards 😉 if you park in an underground parking lot, the rates at night are usually cheaper that during the day, and some are not 24/7. What you can do to save is if you select accommodation that includes parking, so you at least save the night. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions 🚗😄
So basically free parking in swiss does not exist for tourists… wow… I need to go to an event in St Gallen and need to park my car there for 3 days, how can I do that without becoming poor?
Thank you for taking the time to do this helpful video!
Was my pleasure 😄
