    Flew into Zurich. Went to railway kasse and helpful man sold us 1/2 price rail pass for 120sf then a Berner Oberland Pass for 315sf ( would have been 435sf without the 1/2 price card) this meant our return trip to Lauterbrunnen was 1/2 price saving 85sf then for the next 10 full days all train, cable cars, boats , post buses were free saving us ,00s of sf. Only extra cost was Murren to Shilthorn and Eiger Gletcher to Jungfraujoch- but these were 1/2 price.

    This information is very useful, thanks so much. Sorry, but I'm wondering if de Berner Oberland Pass is the same as the Jungfrau Pass?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  16 дней назад +1

      No the Berner Oberland Pass includes much more area and more trains. It‘s intended for the Berner Oberland (which is a region in Switzerland). The Jungfrau Region is a region within the Berner Oberland.

      Hi, can you advise how to book hotel or an apartment for family?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  16 дней назад

      I would book an apartment as a family, as you will most likely sleep in a chalet and sometimes you have access to a garden! You will find plenty options by searching holiday apartments grindelwald! 👌😊

    Thank you for the tips. I am going to have the BO pass. Can I get free access to the post buses in Lauterbrunnen and Meiringan?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  14 дней назад +1

      Yes you can and dont forget the cogwheel trains such as Brienzer Rothorn 😄👌

    Is it worth getting the Berber oberland pass and the half fare card or will the half fare care be better for 4 days in the Interlaken region?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  15 дней назад

      Depends how much you wanna do, if you wanna do a lot of cogwheel trains then get the pass. Also note that if you get the half fare card you get discount on the pass also!

    Hi Greg. Is travelling around Switzerland by bus a good option? Since you have always talked about the train system, I am wondering is there a bus system too?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  14 дней назад +1

      Thats a good question! In Switzerland we have buses for commuter lines in cities and suburbs. There are also post buses (PostAuto) that connect rural areas. I don‘t think you can rely on buses solely to get about simply because there are not enough lines that connect. However if you want to travel in Europe, you have the option to travel large distances by bus with companies such as Flixbus.

    Hi Greg! I have a question. I will be travelling to Switzerland in December for 11 days. Will go from Geneva to interlarken to Zurich. Should I buy Half fare pass and BO Pass or do you suggest only buying Switzerland Travel pass?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  13 дней назад

      I would do Swiss Travel Pass Flex (3 or 4 days), so you can cover the days with long distances on the pass. The pass will also give you 50% off on many cogwheel trains and cable cars.

    All so beautiful. Just don't make the same mistake as me in spending too much time in Zurich and thinking that's SUI !! I rushed thru Grindelwald, and regretted not spending more time. Nvm, 2025 here I come!

      Maybe you can check with the Grindelwald Tourism company, they will know more than I do in this topic!

    Grindelwald is a really beautiful place the Swiss landscape. We arrived today and could not believe there are so many flies. So disgusting especially you are eating. We really don’t expect this in Switzerland. Disappointing to say the least
