I can’t even imagine how hard having a child in these kind of circumstances would be, because as an adult you’re going through all of this intense emotional trauma but unfortunately due to being young your child will never be able to understand what’s upsetting you, while she may be keeping a cool head on the outside I imagine that on the inside she’s screaming “Why Jack?!? Why can’t you understand why I hate this place?!?” She doesn’t want to be frustrated with him because he’s her son and she knows that his positive viewpoint of Room isn’t his fault but at the same time she admittedly hates the fact that he thinks that way, it basically serves as an allegory for how even if you’re always close by someone based on your viewpoints of certain things you can still feel very separate from each other
Bre gave a phenomenal performance in this movie, you can see the pain and anguish in this scene and she did it subtlety. I believe she willed herself to live in order to give her son a chance at life.

Yeah, apparently Jacob Tremblay didn't want to actually yell at Brie Larson, because he thought the cake actually looked alright and also because it would have been rude.

Our world is not normal. And you're absolutely right. We have entire current generations who don't know any better about how much better society used to be. They weren't there. And history is being wiped more and more everyday. There's also large scale frequency control being implemented on the masses, things in the food and pharmaceuticals, but all of which combines together to make it so that people alive right now "don't know any better." They have no basis of comparison. They think the current world around them is normal, and the way it's always been. They have no idea. And then our reality/matrix/Earth in itself may be very large lie. !!
