I think the scene when the police finally saves her and they hug by the police car is the closest to an extra-corporeal experience a movie has ever given me. It made me feel not only what, but how they were feeling. The fact that she not only hugged but acknowledged her co-star and friend in such cute way shows how humble she is, and shows that she knows that this experience is as life-changing for her as it is for him. I respect her a lot. A LOT.
@D L. You are so much right. I feel the same and don't realise how some people buy all the awesomeness from the actors' oh so wonderfully acted self-deprecating jokes. I often consider their acting in movies as more believable than their talk-show personas
@D L. I don't think so. Some actors are prepared their speech beforehand. However, in Oscar actors do not know whether they win or not. And most of them are not prepared their speech. Emma stone and Jennifer Lawrence, their speech is sudden and say what they wants to say. I also watched many interviews of Brie, she is natural very thoughtful and well spoken person.

In all the awards in general, why the presenters of the acting categories don't say the word "for" or "in" anymore? It seems kind of lazyness. They say the names of the nominees and winners without the "for" or "in". Example: in this case, instead of he say "Brie Larson for Room" or "Brie Larson in Room", he said "Brie Larson Room". Weird. (No, it's not the same)
+David f I watched all the best picture nominees twice and I found my top 3 Room The Martian The Revenant Room is by far the best but I understand why usually the best picture winner goes to true stories like Argo and 12 Years A Slave
but it is interesting to see that a movie that centres around a women and that to a strong protagonist is being nominated for best picture in years coz I can't remember any film in the past 2 or 3 years being nominated for best picture completely centering around a women this year brooklyn was also there but it didn't really completely centred around her character
I think because most actor/actresses in the audience wanted the award to go to Saoirse Ronan for Brooklyn, many actresses nominated this year have praised Saoirse more than Brie but they were both so incredible that it was a though choice
Elena Mazzoni I don't think so people have praised her more I mean brie in context of your point max. no. of people haven't seen Room coz of it's dark subject but many have seen Brooklyn which boring as shit so that might be the reason of your statement but Brie Larson deserved this award completely and gave the best performance of the year
siddharth nagar Sure Brooklyn was a different genre as Room but it wasn't boring at all, at least to me and a lot of people could relate to it. You have to like that genre to enjoy Brooklyn. I loved both movies so much and felt inspired by both stories and performances. But most actresses loved Saoirse's performance more (for example Blanchett and Mirren) and the Oscar jury loved Brie's performance more, it was definitely though this year!
Elena Mazzoni and Hollywood has strange obsession with woman in their early 20s and without a doubt Brie Larson's performance was the most versatile and incredible of the group on the other hand to your cate blanchett and Helen mirren story just check Brie's interview with ET after winning gg where she says Helen and Kate winslet were pursuing her to not leave her seat as her category was coming coz they knew she's gonna win coz she gave the best performance of the year
I think this is the perfect speech because she's not pretending to hold back crying during the speech or acting like it wasn't expected (the winner usually has won every award that season leading up to the Oscars). She also thanked film festivals and the distributor and moviegoers rather than just a handful of people who helped her personally. And gave the director credit for contributing to her performance.

If there's anything I know for sure, then it's the fact that a lot of people have problems getting their ideas across, which can lead to a lot of misunderstanding. Also, as audience, we dont know anything about her for real, the news can be subjective and biased too, so stop judging her. Leave her alone

What a sweet speech, especially in the end when she thanks the audience who supported the movie. I loved her in Room. And Jacob Tremblay deserved an Academy Award nomination for his AMAZING performance in the film. He was robbed. At least, a nomination. But, whatever.
One of the finest Best Actress Oscar wins for God knows how long time. Moore, Blanchett, Streep etc. were amazing as well in the years they won, but you expect such performances from them. But I've never seen Larson in anything before Room, and I was blown away by her work. The first ten minutes alone, showing so many human emotions, and making this character real. I think this was a very tough character, cause even if she was fictional, we heard about such stories so many times on the news, reading about it in the papers. And it is so surreal, when you think about this, captivity for 7 years, you just can't get your head around it. So to show all these emotions in the most authentic way, just wow.
I agree with what u say and the most amazing part of this performance is that it is given by such a young actress bcoz such complex performances u expect from a senior and experienced actor and this was her 2nd lead part in a film. Hats off to Brie Larson.....
Great performance I must agree with you on that. And the fact that she's so young only makes it a lot more surprising and rewarding. You should see her previous film, Short Term 12. She delivers a performance that's mind blowing and although many bloggers praised it, she wasn't nominated for much anything. That's because it was such a small indie film and by A24 too I think. Okay, now I will say that I liked Ronan's performance a bit better and she should have taken the Oscar. That's just my opinion. Both honestly either of them winning would have been great.

In Room, she had to portray an easily triggered, quick tempered, mean-spirited woman - so all she had to do is act naturally.

Brie Larson: ''Thank youu Veeeeeryyy Muchhh!!''
Is that some kind of personal attack?
I'll be the first me.
I told you not to touch it!
Just seen her face the cringe goes to my right face.
I dont get it why did u guys hate her?
I had to cry 3 times while watching Room, and I never cry easily. Brie was incredible!!!
A LOT.
Exactly, the way she ran towards him. And the scene where at night she tries to stop herself from crying by closing her mouth, damn it took me places.
My favorite moment was at the end when she silently mouthed "bye room". Wow, it really got me.
One of the best Oscar speeches I've watched. Clean, no drama, no ego, all gratitude.
Her ego is huge

Brie Larson, my love well deserve oscar, Room is by far the best movie of 2015
In all the awards in general, why the presenters of the acting categories don't say the word "for" or "in" anymore? It seems kind of lazyness. They say the names of the nominees and winners without the "for" or "in". Example: in this case, instead of he say "Brie Larson for Room" or "Brie Larson in Room", he said "Brie Larson Room". Weird. (No, it's not the same)
yes it is I just finshed book loved the movie awsome
+David f yes I have seen all of them this year
+David f I watched all the best picture nominees twice and I found my top 3
Room
The Martian
The Revenant
Room is by far the best but I understand why usually the best picture winner goes to true stories like Argo and 12 Years A Slave
but it is interesting to see that a movie that centres around a women and that to a strong protagonist is being nominated for best picture in years coz I can't remember any film in the past 2 or 3 years being nominated for best picture completely centering around a women this year brooklyn was also there but it didn't really completely centred around her character
The boy who plays jack in room deserve an oscar.
i think he won a critics choice award for his role
I seriously don't understand why she wasn't given a standing ovation or enthusiastic applause
Elena Mazzoni if you say so
Elena Mazzoni and Hollywood has strange obsession with woman in their early 20s and without a doubt Brie Larson's performance was the most versatile and incredible of the group on the other hand to your cate blanchett and Helen mirren story just check Brie's interview with ET after winning gg where she says Helen and Kate winslet were pursuing her to not leave her seat as her category was coming coz they knew she's gonna win coz she gave the best performance of the year
Anyone who has actually seen "Room" knows that she deserved to win.
I love how she could handle the panic situation and still remind calm, confident and be able to speak so well. She is truly an amazing person!
@fusionaut23 I would think that most people on youtube only use it to view and not post videos.

I really do love and respect her. She is an absolutely wonderful woman and is nothing like the woman that the media paints her to be.

There are many ways to display your views and her's are the wrong methods. Any interview she comes to has people worried what she might say she gets easily offended and does not know a joke from a attack.
@@marguerite5430 ummm. cuz i have seen her in every single interview and every single article how she acts how uncomfortable she makes everyone around her and majority of the fans hate her, the inly ones who love her are not hardcore comic book fans ask any comic book reader they did not like her portrayal and they are worried about the future of the mcu. and frankly speaking she should not be a role model to anyone she is very high on her own horse, she is offended, she is teaching people to hate on white man... the simple fact is that there are more white males in usa which is why the majority of the film business is them but brie is always degatory against white males, what has an average white male done to deserve that
If there's anything I know for sure, then it's the fact that a lot of people have problems getting their ideas across, which can lead to a lot of misunderstanding. Also, as audience, we dont know anything about her for real, the news can be subjective and biased too, so stop judging her. Leave her alone
Tuong Linh Tran Ha Thank GOD someone came to their senses, jeez.
