It has been a year and yet I'm still upset that the fact that Jacob Tremblay did not get a Oscar nomination nor did it win Best Picture. This is the best movie of 2015 and to me this is one of the biggest snub in Oscar history.
Since when was the Oscars about talent and quality? A high amount of Oscar awarded movies are actually quite mediocre, what matters is what the audience thinks, and the audience loved this movie.
jacob is SO talented. i’ve never seen a better child actor, especially not one able to play such a dark and in depth role. i remember i was just in awe watching him in room for the first time. i’ll never forgive the academy for not giving him an oscar.
Watch "The Champ" from 1979 (Around there, forget year). I'd have to say best kid actor of all time there, worth the watch. Movie really gets you by the guts the whole way, and the fact it's based off the real lives of Irish immigrants in the US,, like this was based off real kidnapping victims, makes it hit harder like Room does.
I love Brie as an actress but I really don't like her as a person. That's why I usually dislike her movies because I can't get that out of my mind. This one is great though.
@@allburtj703 Oh really? You know her personally? No. If you do not know someone 'as a person', then you can't dislike them 'as a person'. Interviews & red carpet don't necessarily reflect how someone is in ordinary life.
From Brie's interviews, I got the impression that she is an introvert who is not very comfortable in front of cameras - she has to put on an act instead of being able to relax. But when she is around people that she can trust and adore, she is very cute. Not everyone is born to be charming as a superstar and that's totally ok.
It's like with MacKenzie Foy. Despite being ten years old at the time when the final two twilight movies were filmed, she probably didn't understand the story. At 12 she said in an interview that she had only watched the first two films because she was too young to watch the rest of the films. Now she's almost 21 and understands the story fully.
Me too! Im childless by choice and have never questioned my decision until the moment I watched this movie. It went away after, but still. That kid is adorable and the mother son connection is so genuine and beautiful in the film
They are wonderful I have 2 & you will do whatever go to whatever means necessary to protect them. Don't take my word you'll find out the minute you have one.
My story is very similar to Jack's, and I want to say: This movie is brilliant, especially the second half, it made me relive my early childhood, it made me Jack, and in my head we were one. My mama was never kidnaped, or pysically locked up, but she was abused, raped, traped by my father. I knew everything, He whiped my Ma with his belt in front of me, we were terified, she tried to protect me, we knew he could kill us, we had no escape. The world he created for us was all I knew. Just like Joy, she escaped when I was five. I remembered how as a child I first walked into my mama's house, I remembered how my toes pressed against the floor as I tried to walk to the stairs, how my first bowl of cerel tasted, the new world that I had to be used to, the people that were so nice to me, my Grand Mother and Grand father, the many toys they gave me, the surrealness that I might never see him again. And how it made me feel. I could relate so much to Jack, you will be surprised by how much a five yrs old could know, could feel, and remember. He spoke and walked liked the little me, I could feel his every emotion, he made me remeber how I felt so many years ago that I have fogotten. The movie is brilliant, I am now speechless.
Loved this movie!!! I cried when she rolled him up inside the carpet and told him what to say and do and he got taken away from her and put in the back of the truck! I cried hard

I absolutely love behind the scenes and knowing how films are made. Knowing the actors and how they go through the process they go through to being srories to life.
i had no idea of this movie when i first watched it, i was actually searching for panic room when i found it on netflix, read the description and decided it might be something i might like, i was expecting something dark and focus more on the psychology of the crime itself and focus more on the relationship between the victim and perpetrator, it took by surprise so much to find that more than half the movie focuses on the aftermath, it was excellent, the psychology and performance was eye opening, and shows that with crimes like this movie portrays it’s not always over the minute the crime itself ends. it was incredibly compelling to watch, brie’s performance was outstanding and jacobs too. the cinematography as well was excellent, obviously as a child he is smaller but the way they made the room feel huge for jack but tiny for joy was amazing, and overall in the first half making room feel much larger and genuinely made to look like the twos whole life was in there, but then at the end when they revisit, it looks how it is in reality and shows how tiny it is. an honestly excellent movie
This movie made me cry so much. Reminded me when I was trapped in the psych hospital and the staff were horribly abusive and gave me drugs that made me psychotic and I couldn’t go home and we never went outside and it was really terrible. This movie was really good
OMG the kid is adorable! LOL I haven't seen this movie yet, but I really want to. I was told about it by a friend who saw it when I read further into the Cleveland kidnappings case, and I love where this production designer went with it, and his inspiration, and he mentioned several key cases of kidnappings, just perfect, I love it! Can't wait to see it! :D
Jacob is such an incredible actor. I’m desperate to become an actor and always have. But there’s no way i could have done would he did at that age or even the age I am now
*I don’t what happened because I had saved it in my list on Netflix, but is it now available anymore. Many people have been criticizing Brie Larson, but the reality is: she is a very good actress. Brie larson had an oscar snub for short term 12.. her name created so much noise that when she made another grear movie and great acting Oscars cannot ignore her again. the list of nominees contains all the names of popular actresses nobody knows Brie much but by independent film..
I usually hate child actors and can't watch movies with them but this one was an exception. The kid really did a great job and I never once doubted his character.
When Jack becomes a teenager, it will be a very rough time in his life. This is because of how Jack will have to learn that Old Nick is his biological father and how he came to be born into such a dreadful situation.
Room is the best film of 2015 and my favorite film of 2015. Brie Larson gives her best performance as Ma and her and Jacob Tremblay make a believable mother son duo
Kira'sVita Yeah I did read a bit on the internet that he did just play an 5 year old. But he did really fit into it! Its like me in my childhood, I was with 16 only 1,45meter :D
The movie is very uncomfortable on how real it is and it’s great hell even amazing but it’s one of those movies that I wouldn’t put on every day maybe once a year
DropThe Beatzz That part was very tense for me. I really wanted “Old Nick,” to be stupid enough to believe Joy. I hated whenever “Old Nick” tried to approach Jack.

@timothy wong actually the directors and even actors can buy the Oscars same way as they can buy the star on Walk of fame so I stopped watching.

Jacob tremblay deserved an oscar for sure. Amazing movie so heartfelt and raw. Beautiful. I fell in love with Jack.
Brie larson deserves her oscar ..
Totally worthy
She got it :)
I wonder if Jacob understood the whole concept of the movie/book because it's very dark
