Yes, absolutely. Everything is top-notch in this masterpiece of a film. Jacob was only 7-8 while this was filmed. This is the point at which the "greatest child actor ever" talk began, for good reason. There will never be another like him. He was robbed of an Oscar.

I love that at the start of the movie room is filmed to make it look large as Jack sees it and by the end it feels small to him therefore is shot to look smaller

They carried it together, but looking back now it's really a pity that he didn't get nominated for either best or supporting actor. He deserved a nomination.

I also think Ma(Joy) was trying to psych Jack up. The confinement was taking its toll on her sanity, and she was losing hope. So she tried to amp up her son so that he carries on the hope and the dream, so she can feed off of some of it.

Lenny is one of the best director in the buisness. Not only he successfully dealt and cinvayed so many complex emotions in this film, but his ability to work with the young actor jacob. And Brie is just Awesome!
