Probably there will be solution to that, maybe a part of the planet allocated to that or smthng. Also most of the oxygen are produced by phytoplanktons, maybe thats how they manage to solve it

What about the impact on the global environment? I don't think earths ecosystem could survive us being one massive city. Trees would be completely gone along with millions of species of birds, insects, and other animals reliant on forest, plus they are the lungs of the air we breathe. If we somehow survived it, the quality of life on earth would be horrendous
In the far future this types of worlds is common they would just use nanites and other advance tech to neutralize the pollution

No, most oxygen are produced in the ocean by phytoplanktons and while i do agree that it can lead to flooding, we wouldnt lacking of oxygen if we pump the cyanobacteria population

There are lot of things we would need to consider like choose a world government master weather modification technology. Even try to find a way to deal with landslides and other natural disaster that would be more frequent due to extreme urbanization.

It seems more likely there would be mini cities or neighborhoods within a global city vs country-sized zones. Would be easier than traveling half a planet away to go to the movies in the entertainment sector, even if these new trains use less power. Every building or couple of buildings has a school, doctor's office, etc in it.

We need to have a balance between nature and urbanization. We shouldn't be building too much, but just enough so that people can live comfortably while still being surrounded by enough natural landscape.
What would happen if all humans lived in the wild without building an advanced civilization like in the city?
I think about that all the time.
Imagine a city the size of earth with thousands of different floors for research all the way down to the core that’s hosting undercities.
We would have to figure out a way to deal with the pollution problems.
@@kimbelsimpson7535 I don’t think population problem would even be an issue since there would be so many skyscrapers built ,the main issue would be cooperating ,it is impossible for now to do this ,simple because we are not there mentally advance for such a thing ,there would be chaos and destruction if we would have done it now ,greed and corruption would be at highest point ever,therefore crime would arise extremely high .

You're right there is too much conflict in the world for it to happen in this day and age but generations from now people may not feel the same way they do now especially if some world wide event should happen that causes this world's people to band together and make this idea a reality.

Really cool video, but when you say about massive global city im thinking about globalization, at this time globalization is the worst thing because we are still using fatories that make co2 and central nuclears that heat not our terrain but the while planet, i think for this these virusis and pandemics including covid 19 were made to reduce not only population but whole co2 made by factories and central nuclears that reached atmosphere, if population is more numerous ,more co2 will be in atmosphere, cant say that these virusis are what we need but is have good reasons, so pandemics do everything just save the planet, and will kill only weak and steongs will still living so globalization is the worst thing at this time but not in future where we will use only clear energy

It's an interesting idea, but I personally think that it wouldn't work, if we used the common form of a city to engulf the planet. All that concrete and steel would be mental hell.😒 However, a global BIOPHILIC city (one that encourages the presence of greenery and non-human creatures) would be great, in my opinion. 😃
Cities underwater or floating at the surface r called OCEANSCRPERS and those underground, a reverse 🔄 skyscraper r GROUND/EARTHSCRAPERS. Some architectures r already designing such things for the future.

This is kinda like my utopia of humanity. Im not talking about a global city, but a global nation. Without those unnecessary and lets say funny differences that split people apart today. Skin color, religion, nationality, resources (my oil, your water, etc). These are all just funny things to have wars about. We are HUMANITY. First we have to try and split are resources equally, end all differences (the very poor, strugling for daily needs, and the filthy rich). Without this happening, we can never use Earth's resources efficiently, not to say 100%, therefore never become even type 1 civ.

To build Earth City first you need to get rid of all Religious Fanatics, and the concept of Religion itself. Next you need to remove misguided patriotism and convince people that quality of life has nothing to do with "loving" your country which is just a small location in a single life sustainable dot in such a vast universe. Instead of give such massive responsibility to human leaders, they can let AI be world leader which wont be impartial to anyone.

True. I remember season 7 of The Clone Wars showed the seedier parts of Coruscant and it was exactly like you say. I would prefer if there was one big city surrounded by lots of farmland (like 10% city and 90% farmland). In a setup like that, most people would live in the city anyways.
