      @sawadee, 5 GG nominations, but as a movie fan I can respect your opinion. I can’t put myself down as a movie buff, not when I know just how incredibly knowledgeable he is.
      All that nuance.
      I personally was on the edge of my seat, the tension, knowing the history of the horror of what happened. This is what he would have wanted it to be, not perfect, but very satisfying for the viewer. Hence it’s a fairytale, and called Once upon a time...
      I thought the performances were excellent, I would put that at least partly down to the excellent relationship he has with those around him.
      His enthusiasm must be infectious.
      For me personally, it was Brad Pitt’s best performance I’ve seen from him.
      My favourite part was Bruce Lee, remember his parents sent him to the US because of his involvement in gang violence in Hong Kong, what a homage to a legend.
      I’ll put it to you this way, I simply wouldn’t miss a Star Wars movie while it’s in the Cinema, but I’d enjoy one of his creations ultimately with way more satisfaction.
      What are your favourites?
      Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪

    • @ClannCholmain
      @ClannCholmain 5 лет назад +6

      @Gamer Rage, for me the longer it when on the greater the tension, you the viewer knows about the infamous evil of the tragedy, while they are oblivious.
      He goes to great lengths to make the distinction between violence or threat of violence in a movie, versus real life violence.
      He says as much in this interview re his mother’s response to other parents censorship.
      There are many layers to his movies.

      Yeah he’s definitely a childlike geek which is his gift and his curse I guess.
      On one hand his enthusiasm and passion for cinema is unparalleled, on the other hand his movies can sometimes feel immature and the misconduct + controversy he’s involved in can seem pretty baffling coming from a man of his age.
      I’m still a fan of him though. But the manchild personality (and possibly a form of autism, as some people argue) has its pros and its cons. I feel a similar way with Kanye West in the music world.

    I really do think he’s talking about Kurt Russel in this. Consider how Tarantino cast Russel as the stunt coordinator in OUATIH who Rick Dalton convinced (temporarily) to allow his stunt double Cliff in the show - similar to how unnamed actor convinced Tarantino to allow unnamed actor’s stuntman to be in the movie. And Kurt Russel also was the narrator in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood... seems like Tarantino would cast one of the inspirations for his film to be the narrator of it
