Therapist here its called a W sit. She is likely has the room in her hips and her knees have the flexibility and range of motion to tolerate this. If you try it and its painful don't do it or maybe do a modified version. Some adults are still able to do this which is impressive!
I had no mobility when I started yoga. Mom had MBP so I wasn't allowed to do sports or participate in PE as a kid & put on meds that I did not need. It's extremely cathartic for me to move my body now. I'm 37, started about 7 years ago & also lift/run/cycle with my yoga. Point is: when I started, I couldn't even do pigeon pose & it was BEYOND intense. I now can keep my front leg parallel to front of mat & also do full mermaid, etc. Practice practice practice but don't ignore"bad"pain! Discomfort is okay within reason, it's how we grow
I can still like that and bring my thigh/calf angle at 90 degrees but my external rotation is terrible! External rotation is much more needed than internal rotation in sports than internal so to me, that's actually a deficit
@@mollyram2997thanks for sharing your encouraging personal experience! I was also held back a lot physically, as a child, and there's a fear that it's "too late".
You guys in the comments making self deprecating jokes about not being able to do it are so extra. If you want better for yourself then make the intention and every night stretch your body. It’s not that hard. And the more you do it you will be able to do this no matter your age.
Riiight... "not that hard." Ah yes, let's not take into account chronic illnesses or just general age pain. Okay then. Tell my connective tissue disorder it's not that hard. Some people are naturally flexible, some can easily become flexible, and for others it is VERY hard!! Sometimes even impossible without extreme pain. Please don't assume everyone's body is the same.

Oh I’m about to get my mat out and enjoy that myself! I’ve done yoga most of my life and I have subscribed and look forward to learning more delightful ways of treating my body from you! 🙏❤️

I just about broke my blimn ankle & split my quads- first time I’ve ever done that - at age 61 🤫, had to use my elbows to push myself up , won’t be doing that again 🤣🤣
I used to do this when i was still alive
RIP Grace

@@KateAmberYogabest reply ever!😂
Omg
Tell me why i just tried to do this, fell back, cracked like 4 joints and almost got stuck
😂 gotta warm up first
😂
😂
You still there? 😂
@alansmith4655 no lmao was there a solid minute though contemplating my life choices lol
My knees don't do that.
My knees are so traumatized from me being clumsy that the will do anything so they don’t get hurt 😂
Yet.
Mine don't do that without someone else underneath me? But I would get stuck laying back cause I need more core strength.
I can lay down comfortably like that, but can’t touch my toes 😂

Well said. It's the theory of "if I could do it yesterday, I can do it today". AND the more you do something the more you CAN do it.

I used to do this all the time and was told not to do it
I can do this, but in a flow like motion like this…goals!!!
I used to sit like this as a kid, but now it hurts like hell
Wow, super slim beauty
Both those postures are favorites, but never tried that transition. On my list, thanks!
Wow Totally Amazing 🔥🔥🔥
You are amazing
That's enviably flexible 🙌
I am definitely getting some Exorcist vibes😝 but you are making those fun vibes🔥
Bahaha, I just saw this and I don't disagree

Like being 56 and almost able to do the middle splits again!
Literally, Yes if I dont have serious Problem at this age the body always adapts
Some people are flexible, some are judgmental 🤷♀️😒
Yeah some are flexible the others dont give their body the proper handle it deserves

Lol,giirl what!? Lolll😂.... Wrong post
I watched this short too often for my sanity, because I can't do this.😅
Same here. I just whispered to myself that if I accomplish this I would be damn satisfied in life ❤
Yes you can, if you stretch everyday your body will accommodate this movement. Try it hehe
This… should come with a warning. I was able to get back up though.
Beautiful 💞
I really love this room
Love it.💕 perfect 👍🏽 example of
pretty!
lol OML so accurate🤣
Amazing 🎉🎉❤❤
I could NEVER!
You 100% could with practice
My thoughts exactly. 😂
ALLURING RED‼️👀🤩
I can lay down but it’s hard to go back i can't do it that fast

Used to do this as a kid, aunt used to scold saying that demons will posses you 😊
I can stretch forward like that just fine.
I can lay back fine.
Can’t get back up 💀

Now im cripled, thanks so much!
Wow!!! Take care.
Will do - you too!
I can do the range of motion but getting myself vertical from the laying back not so much
This is not hip opener exercise. You really need to be warmed up very well before doing this exercise. It's not for everyone.be careful.
Damn those arches are amazing 😍

How do i achaive this level??
Practice! The more you do it, the more you CAN do it.
This looks like it would feel amazing
Just give it a try you will feel like orgasm😍🔥
Now i need a "what i eat in a day" video😂❤
I feel you baby ❤🤩
SUBSCRIBED.
I am quite flexible but I admire her core strength! I can’t move my torso like that!
What is the best practice to get to this stage? Is it simply trying what you are doing or other hip stretches or both?
Just did it and it feels so good for the back also
I want this loop framed on my wall ❤
Wow you are on another level of flexibility ❤❤
The leaning foward part was a nice back stretch lol
I want to do this
Nice I feel like a robot trying do that 🤣 I won't give up too hahaha
Love this pose
That's some Basic Instinct stuff 😮
I am flexible for a 300Lbs man, but that is not something I can do yet. I can lean back all the way like that.
Go YOU! Keep up with that mobility.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 noooo waaay... I cant sit on the ground like that
I could do this and it felt really nice
Wow someday I’ll be able to do this.
One day I’ll get there
I did similar exercises when I was pregnant and my baby pop out after 3 pushes😂
I just know my thighs would cramp when I do that 😅😂
Amazing
I used to be able to sit like this for hours on end.
My knees and ankles say no before my hips do.
What's name of this stretching?
It'd not traditional yoga, just a funny thing! It's "Hero pose", then flowing into childs pose.
I really just thought I could do this but that was 20yrs ago
😂😂 bahahahhaha but they are good tho xD. I store a lot of trauma there so it's worth it 😅
It's not painful for me but the part where I lying down from my back it's challenging to go up with out pushing my body up 😂😂😂
The only thing that hurt was the right foot knuckle... otherwise I was able to sit fine. Don't know why the left knuckle is better 😂
You ever see someone be flexible and just think that if you’re ever in that position that someone should be calling 911 b/c my hip popped out
Red. Next question
Nice ❤
What if my right hip is back further than my left?
I bet those come in handy.
I just about broke my blimn ankle & split my quads- first time I’ve ever done that - at age 61 🤫, had to use my elbows to push myself up , won’t be doing that again 🤣🤣
. Wow. Fentastick. Yoga. I. Like
My ankles have never, and will likely never, lie flat like that.
Costume 😮
so accurate 😂😂
Do i also have to wear the same clothing?
Unfortunately yes
Interesting, I can do this particular move easily, but my hips are not opened at all
My right foot says no
Perfect exercise for good posture
Hip openers without a camera, and a social media platform be like that tree falling in the forest without a witness : did it even really happen...?? 😏
Why simply hate on someone/somebody on something you can't do????
Namaste, Thank you for practicing the Hindu art of yoga ✨
Just tried it n blew out a hip
Im gna try to do this tmm and see what happens
What is this for?
Does this actually help? Lol
Yeah I wish but trauma
"Hip openers ARE like"
How do u lean forward while doing that🤧
❤❤
my neck could never
Advance level
Someday!
I’m actually amazed because I just tried this and can do it with ease
You go girl! Don't stop, your body will thank you for it!
