I can't believe that would be something people complained about. Some of the best voice acting in gaming. Clear and understandable, carries an emotional impact without sounding melodramatic.
I think he did a good job, but some of the lines have an awkward rhythm. Several sentences end too abruptly and are written in a very vanilla way, so when hearing them through the actor's voice, they sound like the performance is worse than it really is.
I still can't tell what sounds more genius: the writing or the voice? When both blend in, you basically get a story that will stick in your brain until your grave and beyond.

It's crazy how small things like that just pop in your mind out of nowhere. Amnesia had a lot of those awesome little moments/lines that keep me coming back to videos like this.
There's another ending, if you stay in the jail cell for a long time, the shadow will consume you, then Alexander will say the same thing that he says on the first ending.
Is there one missing? I remember one where Alexander talks about fortifying the castle when "things start falling apart" and reinforcing the castle "here and here..." that sort of thing.

Thank you so much for uploading this, glad i can revisit this game and see only the story without having to shit myself and bang my head against a wall to remember the puzzles.
Daniel’s ending somehow feels like the worst ending. Daniel learned nothing and suffered no consequence. He felt content killing off someone he deemed worse than himself, something that he was doing before and that turned him into a psychopathic murderer. He continues to make excuses he kept making - “I may be bad, but they’re worse. They deserve to die instead of me.”
The Shadow spared him and allowed him to escape. Knowing that the universe itself forgives his sins, he understands he has redeemed himself with his courage and bravery. Maybe he says those things because he still feels guilty for the atrocities he made and is trying to convince and comfort himself (as always, lol).
Niv 'Mohnd So what? Daniel didn’t change. The diaries say that he killed others to save his own skin and justified himself saying that they’re worse people than him. Then, he proceeds to kill off Alexander, another person he thinks is worse than him, to save his own skin. He didn’t redeem himself, he simply survived.
@@cjv8522 If an horrifying omniscient cosmic entity doesn't kill you after all the awful shit you've done, manipulated, but does kill the man next to you, how would you call it? He was justifying his victims as criminals because he was desperate and terrified of the Shadow, but you can see how much he _regretted_ everything after killing the little girl and going back to his senses. In the dairies you can read how humiliated and disgusted he was feeling. He got punished for it and payed the price by facing the horrors of the castle, his personal purgatory. Please tell me you understand what I'm trying to say.
@Commander Maro That's an interesting way to look at it, but I still think the special ending is the best one. Come to think of it, Daniel both got his revenge and redeemed himself by letting the Shadow consuming him, all to help Agrippa to reunite with Weyer. Weyer, as we've heard, tamed the Shadow somehow and accumulated a collection of Orbs without being hunted by it, meaning the Shadow can distinguish the good and evil in people's hearts. Basically, Daniel was deemed "unworthy" or "evil" by the Shadow up until he gets his revenge in the Daniel ending. By helping Agrippa, he and Weyer will forever be grateful to Daniel and will eventually free Daniel from the Shadow, transcending his existence. Edit: Agrippa was chained up by Alexander ever since Weyer passed the portal, so it's likely that Agrippa acknowledged Alexander's deeds but he can't interfere, or he just didn't care at all. Also, it seems that the Shadow only hunted those who abuses or broke the Orbs, that's why Agrippa, Weyer and Mandus wasn't on the list.
@Commander Maro Never a bad Person? He killed and tortured people just to get away from the shadow. The pure ironie ist, that the shadow never would have killed him if he didnt traveled to Alexander and experimented On the orbs. Well it wasnt leaked of Agrippa and Weyer tortured people alongside Alexander.
There also is 4th ending as well. If you dont flip the switch on the voice box when you first encounter Agrripa, leave the map and re enter. His head will be missing and Alexander's voice lines in the Inner Sanctum will be different because you never retrieved Agrripa's head. I guess you could achieve this ending by never cutting his head off either.
I love this collection of dialogues you pieced togheter! The only ones i think your missing are the one where Alexander and Daniel talk about the shadow that is gonna attack the castle and discussed what places should be fortified and the one where Alexander urges Daniel to go back and that hes carrying the shadow with him.
That's the whole point of the story. Alexander took advantage of a terrified Daniel to turn him into an absolute monster; then once Daniel actually realized what he had done was not only barbaric and inhuman, but all for NOTHING (Since Alexander was never going to stop the Shadow, he was just using Daniel as a sacrificial tool to use the Orb to get back to his home dimension), he took the amnesiac drug because the overwhelming guilt and disgust he felt towards himself.
