I made these recently and they were the BEST EVER matcha cookies I have EVER made and I’ve tried 3-4 different recipes! I loved them so much I made them again and used 150g white chocolate and 50g macadamia nuts and they were out of this world! Thank you William!!
just tried these cookies today and they taste so good! crisp on outside and soft n chewy on the inside. Just wish that I didn't put dark brown sugar instead of regular brown sugar! The signature green matcha color was totally gone!
I made these the other day and they’re amazing!! I reduced the amount of white chocolate chips and added in some chopped macadamia nuts, baked them for about the same amount of time and they turned out so good
i made these yesterday and they were so good!! super soft and chewy on the inside. i recommend adding more matcha though, i couldn't taste the matcha in the butter mixture at all so i added around 1-2 tbsp and they turned out perfect 😊
I made these yesterday and they were divine! I love a chewy cookie! I just added a dollop of my cream cheese filling on top and made it a Matcha Cheesecake Cookie. 💚 The dough spreaded into thin cookies. I added an extra tsp of matcha just because my matcha isn’t high grade but that’s about it. Love this recipe.
Made these for the first time. Came out beautiful! A couple things i changed were instead of melting the butter I just softened it since I didn't want to wait. I also did not add any corn starch since I was out of it. Still turned out a great success! Will def be making these again thank you so much!
woah tried it and it was really good. even though didnt look nearly as good as yours (not green) and accidentally poured 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract instead of 1 teaspoon it still turned out pretty great. Thanks so much for this easy n delicious recipe, it was my first time baking cookies and i baked it in the air fryer for at 130 for 13 mins.
Watched this video last night and got all my ingredients the next day , just baked these bad boys I LOVE THE COOKIES! by far the best cookies ever!!!!! I’m a big fan of chocolate chip cookies never did I imagine that matcha will go very well with chocolate chip! ……. Thanks for sharing your recipe 🙏🏽 ….. bye bye chocolate chip cookies HELLO MATCHA!
these turned out so delish! but next time i will add more matcha because i can barely taste it. and i will also add less sugar because wow they are so sweet especially with the chocolate
These are soo good, love them. William thank you so much for the recipe. Maybe anyone can share the knowledge or advice: the original are super good but too sweet for me, i want to reduce sugar by 30%. Do I need to adjust other ingredients and how to get the same result?
This is a fantastic cookie, all the things you say it is. I took the cookies to work to share with co-workers and heard, over and over, "I don't like white chocolate" and "What's matcha? Green tea? I don't think I would like it!" Everybody loved them! One favor: could you give an estimate of the number of cookies to expect, or the weight of your dough balls? From your video it looks like you made eighteen. I made thirty and baked them for 11 minutes.
Can anyone having made this before answer me this question? Is the sugar amount in the recipe not too sweet, since i made the basic chocolate chip cookies with 55% cocoa chocolate, the sugar and flour ratio is pretty the same to this recipe, but it already tastes a little too sweet for me.
Well if you want to alter the sweetness I say just add a bit of the sugar and mix it with the butter and taste it from there. You could also add the matcha as well, don't add the eggs since you don't want to taste raw eggs, and see how the sweetness affects the matcha.
Tried this now and mine didn’t flatten. I just flattened it out after baking but it tastes good! I replaced the white sugar with erythritol and lessened the amount (brown sugar as well!) It’s not too sweet!
@@loyce09 yes. Instead of 280, make it 260grams. Then if you dont want it too sweet make the brown sugar into 100 and white sugar to 50 or 60grams. Works best for me
Hey! I tried this recipe and my cookies tasted great, only the bottom part was quite brown and it would’ve gotten a really dark brown if I hadn’t turned the heat to top towards the end. Is there a solution for this? And also it doesn’t flatten out as much as yours :( so I just manually press it down a bit before I bake it
Not at all, the dough will be dry. It's the most important ingredient for a cookie recipe. If you don't have eggs, you could use chia or flaxseeds in a bit of water, or applesauce, or cooked butternut/sweet potatoes. You will have different cookies, but still does the job ;)
Hey, that could change your cookies texture. Just an advice I always follow the ingredients recipe. Instead, you could look for a chocolate cookies recipe, and use the matcha chocolate :)
hey bro! i end up following ur recipe and the cookies turn out amazing! except for the matcha powder i add more, because mine is not good qlty one so i need to add more to intensify the taste. i bake for 10 mins in 180'c ! thanks a lot, you are amazing!
I tried making these and they tasted amazing! The only thing is they didn’t have that buttery crispy dense texture and instead looked and felt like cake. The only modification was I used vegetarian butter instead of dairy butter. Was that the issue ?
The Mrs. made another batch of your almond cookies, with a cranberry compote, topped with 2 whole almonds. What an amazing flavor! Keep the tasty videos coming my friend! 👍👍😋
This recipe is up my alley! So i decided to make them today. Somehow my cookies didn’t spread or expand like yours..... mine just came out small.. but I followed all your steps... why is that? Anyone please advise..? Much appreciated.
Hey there, cookies generally melt/expand because of all the butter in there. So I would suggest adding a little more or you could always flatten them with the palm of your hand before baking them. This way they will be more flat 💪
Hey my fellow chef! New sub here! I recently made chocolate chip cookies on my page too and yours looks amazing! Your recipe is super unique! Hope to stay connected! 🥳
I don't know if I'm blind, but I don't see measurements, in the video you do not mention how much to add of anything but the eggs, and at the end you say the whole recipe would be in the description, but it is not🥺☹️ I really want to make them, but I don't want to mess them up
@@GoldenWingsIIX That wasn't there when I wrote the comment but I'm glad your answer brought me back here, now that the measurements are there I can make them❤️✨
If you’ve watched the first Charlie’s Angel movie with Alex, where she bakes muffins hard enough to break a door… that’s how mine turned out. 💀 I don’t know if it’s because I converted it to US measurements and/or because I doubled it.
3/4 cup melted butter 2/3 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1large egg + 1 egg yolk 1 tsp pure vanilla extract 3 tsp matcha powder + 2 tbsp water 1 1/8 cup all-purpose flour 2 tsp corn starch 1 tsp baking soda 1 pinch of salt 3/4 cup white chocolate (baking chocolate)
William I tried your recipe but my cookies didn’t spread as flatly as yours did. Very disappointed because I loved your video but couldn’t replicate the same result
I tried this recipe and your matcha brownies...they taste good but I don't like how raw they look inside... it's kind of concerning giving people raw/seriously undercooked baked goods.. and I can't bake them longer because the bottom is already brown. Note: I baked these on the 3rd rack at 350F for 12mins just like you said. It would be helpful if you stated how many grams each cookie weighs

Is there a US measurement version?
can i use pure green tea twinnings insted of powder?
Can I use almond bark instead of white chocolate chips?
If you just used softened butter, can you ski[ the chilling step?

How many grams of macha bars is equivalent to your recipe of macha powder? I have macha bars in my kitchen instead of powder.
i did a grass version hope it tastes gewd
I prefer the ones without chocolate chips on top but both look great 👍 C’est excellent
Thanks Zoe ✨
Can I use melted matcha chocolate instead of the matcha powder and water mixture?

Merci !

can i cut the sugar 50% ? is it gonna affect on texture or baking process ?
You can reduce it indeed but I am afraid that a 50% cut will alter the texture and chewiness of the cookies 🤔

Yes but you can also just reduce the amount of sugar!
Do you use salted butter or unsalted butter? Can I use margarine instead? Thanks for the recipe 😁
I would not recommend margarine but you can always try and see! I use unsalted but always add a pinch of salt in my cookies ✨
If I don't add white chocolate, do I have to add more sugar? I mean pure green tea cookies 🥺
I don’t think you have to! 👍

2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1large egg + 1 egg yolk
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 tsp matcha powder + 2 tbsp water
1 1/8 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda
1 pinch of salt
3/4 cup white chocolate (baking chocolate)
