would be good idea to isolate the power by disconnecting battery first before doing any work on a laptop
Thanks ✌ for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your suggestion: i would Always say no need to remove the battery from motherboard as its absolutely not necessary , if you look at any (brand) there is no power a the sata connector when u power off even if you short the pins nothing will happen. i been repairing motherboard and servicing since really 2003.
- BUT now im not saying its it wouldn't be a good IDEA to disconnect, it would be a extra security measure if you do disconnect because you could by accident drop a screw on motherboard or anything alike. for this extra accidents that could happen by negligence of people then i agree with you, but not for upgrading reason.
cons and pros of Removing the battery:
PROs:
-gives extra level of safety (for any accidents)
CONs:
- i have had people in that removed the battery cable and shorten the connectors and killed the mobo
- most new laptops dont have cmos (BIOS BATTERY) and if you remove the main battery bios gets rest and must be configured before be able to boot.
- people remove the battery and they think now they can man handle the board and nothing would go wrong. (based on a comment i seen and the person thought that he/she could touch the sensitive chips if had the battery removed)
♦Also i do make a video for every laptop on how to remove or replace the battery.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for the video even though I had expected to see you switch the SSD and put one of those ones you had shown in the video.
I recently got the Dell Latitude E7470 laptop and it came with a SSD that has two marks like yours while I was expecting it to have a single mark like the nvme. I understand that the nvme are faster and I want to buy one but I am not sure if it will fit my Dell Latitude E7470 SSD slot.
How can I be sure that the nvme SSD will be able to be fixed on mine, please?
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: as this laptops are clients and in the video i showed how to remove and install the m.2 ssd the nvme with one notch is installed the same way as m.2 sata. this laptops DO support NVME m.2 ssd
we have recently days ago installed a samsung nvme ssd m.2 and it works just fine, i recommend you to go with samsung nvme they are the most compatible ssd nvme firmware.
amzn.to/3yHf25p
here is a prove of the compatibility : imgur.com/a/y8dRkd1
Uhm... I noticed the BIOS, under the SSD section, shows two SATA and one PCIe checkboxes. Does this mean that my laptop (the Dell Latitude E7470) can take 3 SSD? When I opened it, I can only readily find one M.2 slot.
@@ekeretteekpo3004 the bios has the option but the motherboard does not have the m.2s installed. so you can have only one.
For the latitude E7470, which of the following Nvme ssd brands are compatible with it - - especially for problem free cloning? Hynix, Pioneer, Inland, ADATA, and WD?
Thanks ✌ for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: the model you mention only takes m.2 ssd sata it does not take any NVME the best are Samsung ssd and then Crucial , i dont recommend kingston or adata:
amzn.to/2XoqAdO
amzn.to/2XpXjzy
Somehow it supports NVME, but in my case I have unfortunately constant BSOD WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR
Hey man, appreciate the quality content, the SSD installed was double cut and the boxes you showed were of SSDs with 1 Cut, so 1Cut SSD can also fit and work in Dell E7470??
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: yes this laptop take NVME or m.2 sata
one cut is the NVME ssd that is much faster, the double cut are sata ssd that are normal ssd speed.

@@uFixTek I liked you answer because the ungrateful Uman's an Muhammad's just take. They never give back.
I also liked your video AND Subscribed!
Hello buddy ! Its not called ``cut`` ! It s called m or m and b key! Thanks!
@@uFixTek Thanks for your kind reply man, appreciate it. 💯
@@greatspirit 🤣 It was replied after 7 months, I could not really wait 7 months to upgrade my laptop Ssd, what do you think? 🧐
Thanks for the video...BUT you really should show the hard part, which is trying to boot up the computer with the new SSD that has NOTHING on it.
i appreciate the feedback and i will defiantly keep a note on that and will do. thank you for the support to the channel by sub :)
That is a typical topic not specific to replacing this drive. Use a drive copy program, move the data over to the new drive, install and good to go, for the most part.
just make a clone from the old ssd, and put that clone on the new one. Install new sdd, press power and enjoy!
What does the fastest transfer rate the E7470. The EVO Plus supports 3,300-3,500 MB/s write and read.
Does E7470 support 3,300 MB/s or just 1,800 MB/s?
Once again thank you. I will also use your Amazon links for my future Amazon purchases.
thank you for the support and let me clear something that i think you falling for!
don't go with what ssd is faster and i'm going to see that speeds!
the answer is that you won't see those speeds even if you motherboards supports.
The factors that you need to know are:
1. the speeds are from nvme to nvme ( if you transferring over usb 3 or any other ports you will see max speed based on the usb port or even the external drives firmware. if you external ssd even with usb c port but with a low quality firmware on it you will be limited to that.
2. the type of the file that are going to be transferred (big text file) video files and etc.. every one will have a big impact in transfer rate!
3 its one big file or many small files!
4, the speed that they all advertise is high point of the transfer rate, It's not the average or steady speed.
i would say just place a good brand NVME and don't worry about what speed nvme you going to get as you won't benefit or use the max or even anything near the max speed.
this a very good quality and reliable ssd and will push you motherboards max speed limits were its possible.

@@uFixTek Thank you... so, what maximum write speeds do I get when using 970 EVO Plus 1TB on a Latitude E7470?
500 M/s? (Please give me an accurate maximum speed)
Also, Dell tech support say E7470 supports only 2 PSIe lanes and only SATA SSD (not event SATA).... and not use a NVMe or SATA2 SSD. Are they wrong?
Also, does E7470 M.2 connector have an M key or a B key?
OK let me give you an idea, the bigger the ssd capacity better the speed performance. so if you get the 1tb 970 evo in E7470 you will get about 1.8-2GB/s .
also taking in mind the other comment i told you about.
and screw the Dell tech support they are useless, this laptop E7470 supports m.2 SATA or M.2 SSD NVME. Because its a PCI-E lane. it is both compatible NVME or m.2 sata I do get this laptop in the shop and we do install NVME ssd on them and we never had any issues.
but update you motherboard BIOS before going to m.2 ssd
and once you install your windows and all then you will need to install the samsung ssd driver to unlock the max speed.
SATA SSDs typically max out around 500-600 MB/s
M.2 NVMe SSDs can top 3.5 GB/s (but on your motherboard you should max out around 1.8-2GB/S
@@uFixTek Thanks... I already made a $370.82 purchase today... so you should see it on your Amazon Associate account... Keep up the good work.
Can i add an other hard hdd
To be 2 hard in that laptop???
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: No, the laptop only has one space for m.2 SSD, you can't place any 2.5" ssd or HDD
i want to upgrade my ssd . is there another slot for ssd?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, unfortunately there is only one m.2 slot available for storage upgrade, this laptop doesn't support regular 2.5' storage. you could upgrade the main storage to a up to 2TB without any issues.
if you don't have wwan card (beside the wifi card) you could place a short form ssd there the lane is PCI-E you will need this: amzn.to/3GrnWa3
the size for the ssd for that port is : m.2 2242 ssd NVME
if you have a WWan card and you don't use it then remove it and place a nvme m.2 2242 ssd.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
cheers🍻

hello good night, what is the maximum ssd i can put? 1tb? 512gb?
m.2 pci-e nvme what does it mean?
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: you can place up to 4TB ssd, without any issues. there is m.2 ssd sata and then there is m.2 ssd nvme. the nvme its much faster than sata . this laptop supports both formats.
1TB m.2 ssd: amzn.to/3bw6tiN

my pleasure my friend
Bro I Have this laptop but with 256 gb storage can i upgrade it to 512gb?

Regarding your question, you can install even a 1TB without any issues my friend, we have installed on clients.

What is the size of Dell Latitude E7470 base enclosure screws?
Philips bit #0
Thank you for the support to the channel :)
@@uFixTek Thank you for your reply, These screws don't come out so I need to change 3 or more screws is it possible to change them screws? or I should buy a new cover? :)
yes you can replace them you have to pull hard on the screws, and go to any electronic repair shop and take the screw sample they should give you for free few of them. it may not have the same screw head but the screw size should be the same.
thank you for the support and feedback to the channel :)
Can i add normal sata ssd in these laptop 👍 or only m.2 ssd
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, only m.2 you can't place any 2.5' hdd or ssd.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
Why does it list “NVME0,SATA0, and SATA1” in the BIOS if there is only one drive?
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: Then bios firmware is connected to the south bridge Chip and the information, and the S bridge chip detects the m.2 slots as sata 0 and sata 1 and there are two m.2 sata, once for wifi and one for wwan boards.
@@uFixTek thanks for the clarification, so could I use the unused WWAN port for a drive or would that not work?
it would not work, because of the firmware of the wwan won't detect it as storage.
@@uFixTek ok, again, thanks for the clarification!
ts my pleasure :)
The socket pins of the nvne are different! You should have shown u how to put the new one! Rrgrads
thank you for the feedback and your support and regarding the nvme, the cut on the nvme will make it go only in one direction, you wont be able to place the nvme wrong, all nvme's have one cut.
