I watch channels like this all the time, this one by far makes my OCS explode to where I'm yelling at the TV 😂 how can so many folks that live near water be sooooo horrible at operating a boat. Trailers are in the water wrong the approaches with wind and current can't be calculated holy hell 😂 once in a while is one thing but you sir found the mother load of every person who just stay on land the rest of their lives haha

Most boats of the caliber I see have trailers that are set specifically for that boat. When your boat does not sit correctly, many factors as to why, just pull out of the water like a slug until it moves in place. It is that simple!

There are some circumstances where being in deep is good, even preferable, but a submerged boat trailer, while trying to load, is not one of them.

I was gonna mention, Big Dan, that you need to learn to use your wheel, your forward and reverse and your throttle. You need all three, at the right time, to control your boat.

A skilled captain should be able to bring their boat to a stop inches from the dock. You shouldn’t even be in gear 10ft out. At worst you can bump gears for a second to get those xtra couple of feet.
All it would take is one time for these boaters to see somebody do that while they're on the boat watching the captain. I think then they could process what you're saying, and you're absolutely correct. When docking a boat it should come to a complete standstill two inches parallel to the dock. Bump it in and out of gear and evaluate, continue that process till you're within inches 👍

Hi mate, just found your channel. Love it! I'm from Australia and we don't seem to have these problems. Almost all of our boat trailers have self centering rollers and we don't put our trailers in deep!!

that "monstertruck" is about an $18-22k rig: truck, suspension, regear (no engine upgrades) nice overall setup - granted before the chip shortage and used ca prices skyrocketed....

Finally got the rebuilt 455 Buick engine in my jet boat and took I out last weekend, i looked for you but didn't see you, hopefully you catch me out in it this coming weekend and get to see the awesome 70's paint job and stripes on it. When I pulled it out the place was packed and everyone came over and was taking pictures and asking questions, i didn't think i was gonna get outta there cause people kept asking who painted it and when, if you see me yell and I'll let you drive it

There must be a strong current through there, and a prevailing wind. There’s no way that many people could be so bad at this without some contributing factors.
It was windy, as you can tell by the flags.. no current. There is also a few docks, a strip of land and a sea wall to block some of those factors.
Nature’s forces, coupled with plain stupidity make for a lot of laughs.

11:00 I have a Pathfinder boat. Like many shallow bottom bay boats, when you cut power they drift like a Seadoo. So I always maintain some forward thrust when powering onto my trailer.

Same and don't back the trailer down so far when loading, that thing is a self centering trailer if you let it do it's job by not backing in over the fender wells. Like old boy said, turn the wheel and kick it in the ass, she'll be right.

Is there a reason why the truck driver can’t put the vehicle in park etc and then start pulling the winch/chain to a position where they are able to reasonably hook up the bow? The boat wouldn’t be so unstable when getting it centered on the trailer. It doesn’t make sense having the driver either in or out of the truck just watching while the Captain struggles.
90% of people back their trailer in to far. If they would keep it shallow the boat would not come uncentered on the trailer.

What is with you Bamians, Everyone has to power load their boat clear to the keel stop??????? Don't put the trailer in so deep and load it up center and use the winch the rest of the way if needed, this crap of pulling on and off the trailer over and over till you powerload all the way to the keel stop is BS. Why do these people even have a long winch the way they use it they only need like a foot long winch.
