    Just turned 54,000 miles on my first set rotated 5 tires every 5k easy number to remember running at 37 psi. I’m guessing at least another rotation left or more. Just received my next set ready for install when needed happy overall with the tires no issues balancing 37 12.50 17

    Thanks for the honest review. We have just over 20k miles on our 35 in Patagonias. I do a 5 tire rotation about every 6k miles. I had issues with getting an even wear until I found out from Milestar that I wasn't running enough air in them. I was down to 26psi, now I am at 33psi cold. you wouldn't think that 5psi would make a difference, but boy did it. No more cupping ever other lug on the outer edges. They are still quiet on the road and ours still do great off road. We do a combo of trail, mud and rock crawling with our JLUR. I only air down between 16 and 18 PSI as i do not want to tire to come loose from the rim like the stock KMs did. Will we get another set when these wear out, not sure. My wife liked the look of the Cooper SST Pros but loves how quiet the Patagonia tires are. Thank you for all the videos! Keep up the good work!

      Glad you enjoyed it! AND YES these tires need to be around that 32 psi spot for the longevity of the tire. They aint a bad tire, and I will always disagree when someone says they are junk. Long as that price point stays low, good buy. Though I have been being told, Milestar has upped their prices.

      Merc doc I just got these in 35’s. I was told to run 36psi is that to much. I see you run them at 33psi

    • @ctascmercdoc
      @ctascmercdoc 4 года назад +1

      @@NYC-WRX 36 felt like I was driving on basket balls. You can try and see how the ride is and how they wear. If you go to low they will start to cup, wear every other lug on the outside edges. 33 cold for me heats up to 35/36 where 36 would heat up ab be at 38/40.

    I have 35 / 12.50 / 15’s Patagonia MT’s. The most weight any of my one single tires took was 3.5 ounces total. All 5 of mine balanced out beautiful. I used a snap on balancing machine. I have 15,000 miles on mine and 14/32 tread left. They are still balanced perfectly. At 70 mph I have zero issues. Off road I think they are excellent. Im very happy with his tire and will definitely run them again. I’m using them on a 2001 TJ.

    Straight up review. I put these on my JL Rubicon in 37's. There were no balancing issues at all. The tire shop was surprised how little it took to balance them. I run 35 36 lbs on the road and like you say nice driving. 19-20 mpg on the road and 8th gear is still being used. My wheeling is lightweight compared to you mainly trails with some obstacles. So far a good cheap tire for me.

      I’m running Cooper STT Pro’s in 37” on my JLUR. I only have about 5,000 mi on them (mostly highway but some lite offroading). They arent very loud, they ride pretty good but kinda hard to balance. As of right now I would buy them again but time and miles will tell the story if I ever get to go back to Co, Utah and other parts west of the Mississippi River... I ran a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers on my truck. Got close to 45,000 miles out of them. My daughter got 55,000 miles out of hers. They got pretty noisy before it was all said and done.

    For everyone I've come to learn, for these tires you need to make sure the valve stem is in line with a marked red dot on the tire when they are installed. Helps with balancing.... I've heard of a lot of people having trouble because they weren't installed right. Cheers!

    We just got some 285/75/r17 KO2 10 ply tires and got to say they are excellent for us. As a family Jeep, tire noise was a concern for us and the KO2 was so much better than what came off. If your not going to go mudding like crazy and want some great traction on rocks and dirt these tires are awesome. And because it's a 10ply your going to get awesome strength and longevity off-road. Got to say love how they look and perform for our needs. So if your looking for a more mild tire that is excellent for on road daily driving and excellent for off road trails I think this is one of the better options out there. That and they balance easy so no worries of wearing out suspension prematurely!
    FYI that is a 34in(ish) tire so not as big as these guys but in my opinion a good option for weekend warriors.

    Wow, thank you! Finally an honest review about the Milestars! I didn't know such a thing existed lmao. There are so many better tires out there. People that like to rock crawl spend thousands on lifts, lockers, winches etc. Why cheap out on perhaps the biggest factor in performance. Watch a rig something like Cooper STT pros walk an obstacle that the guy with Patagonia had to send it on and risk breaking. Especially on wet rocks, they are terrible. Serious rigs deserve serious tires.Okay, end of rant lol.

    Your crawling rocks with 1200 doller mud tires. That's the most brutal thing u can put tires through. Your jeep looks perfect and tires still look good. I would say it's an amazing tire. Now the question is they're mud tires so how do they perform for what they are made for mud?

  • @alexa.6481
    @alexa.6481 4 года назад +1

    Had the pats for about a year now. They are horrible in wet areas. I wheeled them in NV. As extreme as NV offers and they stick and crawl up anything in the trails as long as no rain or snow. Balanced them just fine. Did not had to use beads just some weights on the wheel. I have beadlocks Aire down to 6-8 psi they work great. Air up to 33-35 and drive good on road. Cheap ass tire though. They wear fast and have to rotate every 3k miles.

    Good review 👍 A couple of things I have learned about Milestar Pats: run them at the mfg. suggested tire pressure 37 PSI as they are supposed to ride on the crown of the tire. Mount the yellow dot on the valve stem for best balancing. I am on 2nd set strarted w/37’s and ran them around 25 PSI and started to notice mild cupping around 10K still about 60% tread left and didn’t install them in the yellow dot. Sold those and went to 38’s with above mentioned corrections. Both set balanced vey well with minimal balancing weights. Well see if they wear better. My biggest issue has been getting them to mount easily on Method 105 beadlocks as they have needed to be shaved down on the inner tire for the beadlock ring to fit.

    • @JLLIFEOFFROAD
      @JLLIFEOFFROAD  4 года назад +1

      Glad I enjoyed it... Iv try to keep it at 32 psi as Thts what milestar said... the yellow dot... I won’t lie.. no idea if they mounted them the stem to em or not... u would think a tire shop should know how to mount em lol... I don’t hate the milestar... long as u can find them cheap.. it’s a good buy... but these tires leave more to be desired by myself 🙌 but thanks for watching!

    With the lift I'll be going to 37s this year after putting some more miles on the original tires and saving $ for this next set.
    Like the red jeep, following them for a bit and you have to know / acknowledge their position and the went all in on a unique set up, glad they are doing well. They also have made clarifying comments like the valve stem location relative to the dot in the tire and that on the road they ride center stripe and not full width contact.

    Good review! I have multiple Jeep buddies who have recently put Patagonia’s on their rigs because they’re affordable. I had never even heard of Milestar’s until maybe 6 months ago. I put 35’s on my Jeep back in January and went with KO2’s. I’ve always been a fan of BFG so I was willing to pay more for what I would considered “tried and true”. Had been curious to see how these things held up over time!

      They really ain’t as great as you hear... me and two of my closer friends had all been running them roughly about the same amount of time... we all had the same experience... except they punctured their sidewalls... back when people were able to grab a set of 5/38s for $900-1200... it was not a horrible deal... but Iv learned their prices have jumped up... 100% not worth it imho..

      JL LIFE OFFROAD I’m not even 6 months into my 35’s and I’m already planning on a set of 37” KM3’s. My buddies that are running the Milestar’s wheel but aren’t super aggressive, just weekend wheelers, and here where we live in TN we do more muddy trail riding than rock crawling. I’m always willing to pay more for quality, especially when it comes to tires and stuff. I only paid $1700 for 5 KO2’s including mount and balance and I didn’t think that was bad at all. My buddies spent I think $1300 for their Milestar’s. I think the $400 price difference was well worth it!

I really want to try them because the price is really tempting and I do honestly like the look. Me and my two best friends have all been running PATs for about the same amount of time. We all are the same probelms and gripes about them. They actually had a worse experience than me. Their tires look worse then mine, sidewall chucking and piercings. I did not include that in the video as I felt it was unfair for me to pull from someone else's experience in my review. I have a set of Patagonia MT on my XJ. I bought them because they were the absolutely the cheapest 33x12.5r15 tires I could find. I bought a set of four for $600. They are a good cheap tire. I will not put 10,000 miles on my lifted XJ. I drive the XJ as a daily, but I am retired and do not put many miles on. Yesterday while driving in the rain, I had tires lock up while trying to stop and slide on wet pavement...... Understand, this is a lifted XJ with 33s and 22 year old stock brake system. The stock brakes were not meant ot lock up 33. These Patagonia tires have about 400 miles on them. Make your own mind up on the tires. On my JLUR, I run Cooper STT pro tires that have 22,000 miles on them with a lot of wheeling all over the US. It is also used to pull a camper. At 22,000 miles, the STT Pro tires look great, drive great and are still quiet for a MT type tire. Yes, they were expensive, but go pay and have tiress mounted on beadlock wheels and see if it is worth it to change tires over two or three times vs one set of STT pro tires. Well kind of thumbs up for Patagonia tires on my 22 year old XJ. I would not put them on my JLUR.

      I don't do reviews on anything to make my opinion their decision. I agree, everyone should make up their own mind presented on facts known. The pats are not a horrible tire, but I don't see me spending money on another set, especially after Iv been told they have increased the price to $300+ a tire. They seem to be getting into the next bracket of tires. My current pats are getting put on the J10, why? the J10 needed better tires then what was on them. Most people who buy the pats... are they going to hate the purchase, unlikely. BUT I think they would have been happier with a different tire.

    Your experience with this tire is way off base, and everyone in the comments that thinks they finally found a truthful review just because you had a bad experience is sad. The truth is the are a great tire. I and many others have had very good experience with this tire. they balance easy, they do not ride stiff when they are new. Honestly they probably are not the best tire for your application. Dessert rock crawling in the Maob isn't really their strong suit, but they probably preform fairly well. They are a soft offload MUD tire. To expect 50000 miles on an offload mud tire is a bit wishful. They are a soft rubber compound, with a Q speed rating (99MPH) so you driving down the highway at 80mph is going to chew them up obviously. Honestly the amount of wear you have is a bit more than average for this tire, but there are many things that could have contributed to it, that is at no fault to the tire. When looking at your tires close up you can see the wear from the tires slipping. think of how many times you spun the tires while climbing rocks. Milestar Patagonia M/T perform perfectly as intended, but 50000 miles while taking the offload punishment you put them through ...not so much. There is no single tire that is perfect in every application. But for you application and environment, there is probably a better tire. Its all about selecting the right tire for the application, and if mileage was a deciding factor, you chose the wrong tire for your application. You can spend more money and you can get a better performing tire for YOUR application. this will not hold true for everyone. As the saying goes, "your mileage may vary". Happy Trails

It’s just not for us. 🤷‍♂️ thanks for watching 🙌

    I wouldn’t want to take a chance on bad balancing. Highway speeds are important to me, I’ve had bad tires before with being unable to balance. Could be bad wheels, but if you didn’t have that problem before obviously the tires aren’t great. Thanks for an honest review, I was looking at these because of the weight and less strain on the driveline but definitely not worth the negatives for me.

      I've run balancing beads in quite a few of my vehicles now and love them. As mo stated if the shop doesn't know how to install them ie. They through the bag in instead of emptying it thats the only time you could have problems

      If u can afford a better tire.. id get the better tire.. I would only recommend these to someone who don’t have the money to spend on higher end tires... the balancing beads worked great for the purpose of smoothing out the ride...
      When tire shops were trying to balance the pats... there were entire sheets of sticky weights stuck to my rims... horrible

    Hi, I have 37/12.50/17’s 8PR. Did you get the tens because they would be stiffer? I have about 8000 miles in mine and I do rock crawl and over landing at the same time and one thing I’ve noticed is that they are starting to make the vibration noise when you are turning or backing up at a slow speed like you’re gripping with cleats into the ground. Like you said great for the money, I have to see how long they’re gonna last

      Tht gripping is normal for MTs on the road... thought I haven’t had tht issue yet with mine... when we had XMT on mistys jeep... holy hell... those did it like crazy... I’m on par with them being done by 20k which is pretty spot on from what I read from others... 20k is normal.. u may get 30 if u treat them well and don’t abuse em lol

    Great review Mo! I have about 9500 miles on my 315/70-17's Patagonias and there are two at 14/32nds, two at 16/32nds, and the spare at 15/32nds. Rotated 3 times and rebalanced after 8000 miles. I have liked them better than the KO2's in snow, off road, on road quietness, and for not throwing as many rocks! I had thought they were great, but as they age I've noticed their superpowers have faded.

    Yeah Kevin swears by 8 psi. I think I'm done with the Pats now. I've had a few sets and they're awesome tires at the old pricing. I paid $207 for 37x12.5x17 each for my first 2 sets. Then almost a year ago I was out and saw 38x13.5x17 for $179 per tire and bought 5. All this said they work well and are quiet when new. Now 12,000 miles later and they're a little loader (no big deal) but over 50% gone. At the old $179 - $210 per tire I was ok with them being a 20,000 mile tire. Today the best deal you're going to get retail is $300 per tire. Doesn't make sense now. I can pay $100 more and get Toyos and get 40-50K out of them. I'm not a RUclipsr getting free shit or deep discounts and I pay for them myself. I'm in the market this very minute for a new set and hate having to go back down to the 37s.

      Ooof... 300+ a tote seems to be over stretching imho... I guess I should of looked up current values when I made the video.. I was basing it on when I bought em... 300 a tire I go elsewhere for my tire.
