The "Dziękuję bardzo, Polska!" that he shouted means "Thank you very much, Poland!" Before that he shouted "Dobry wieczór, Woodstock!" - "Good evening, Woodstock!"
Good song to start the Sabaton journey with. As already commented this is their opening song for almost every show. They said that if there are any technical failures they can play this song blind and deaf giving the tech guys a little time to fix it. All their albums (except one) are about war history, without taking side, telling the stories as accurate as possible. they even has Sabaton History Channel on YT. The knee hitting is his trademark kind of thing. They are at their best live but there are a couple of nice animated MVs (No Bullets Fly and Night Witches) where you get even more of the story told. My favorite is En Livstid I Krig (live Gothenburg 2020) it's a slower more emotional song but not less powerful (captions on for non-swedish speakers) Swedish Pagans (Wacken 2019) them playing on both main stages together with old bandmembers and a guest artist. (Their 20th anniversary and Wacken open Air 30th anniversary)
There were between 500.000 and 750.000 in the crowd at that festival (it was in Poland). Sabaton writes songs about real events and people in the history of war, this track was about a german tank division (7th Panzer Division) in WW2. The music is (probably) not supposed to be overly technical (you reach more people that way). That said... there are tracks with a bit more variation than this tho. In reality, it's the history behind the tracks that are most important... that's probably why they have their own history channel telling those stories.
They have some pretty solid live performances, I'd recommend Uprising (also at Woodstock 2012) or En Livstid I Krig (Gothenburg 2020). They also released a new song quite recently (Defence of Moscow) so that's worth a watch if you're down for studio recordings.
Nice to hear your thoughts about this. I think you are right in that their music isn't very complicated. They keep it quite simple but effective, Ghost division is faster than most of their songs though. But to give you the best start on you Sabaton journey I think a good starter pack of Sabaton is the way to go. :) So I will suggest 3 songs/performances/videos to showcase their things. After that, you are good to go in any direction you want. They have a ton of great music, these aren't actually my favourites, (well, the third one is one of them) but as I said, they will show what they do. :) 1. No bullets fly, the animated story video. ruclips.net/video/dslO-3GgenY/видео.html Since pretty much all their songs have a historic background, the animated story videos are great to get the context, and No bullets fly is something extra for sure. It's about an act of the greatest humanity in pretty much the worst possible time for humanity. 2. Bismarck. ruclips.net/video/oVWEb-At8yc/видео.html One of the most visually impressive music videos ever made. And that is not an exaggeration. :) And a really great song on top of that. It's about the hunt for and sinking of the german battleship Bismarck in WW2. 3. En livstid i krig, Live from the Great tour in Gothenburg. ruclips.net/video/WBs3G1PvyfM/видео.html It's in Swedish so turn on the captions and be prepared to be amazed. There will be smiles from ear to ear mixed with tears and you get to experience what might be the greatest live performance ever. It's the story about a Swedish soldier going into war, the 30 years war that ravaged Europe during the 17:th century. And if you want to delve deeper into their songs, their other channel, Sabaton history, ruclips.net/channel/UCaG4CBbZih6nLzD08bTBGfw ,where they go into detail about the story behind each of their songs, is a great source of some light history lessons combined with heavy metal. :)
Sabaton is a swedish band that writes and sings about Actual historic events, battles, moments of heroism and wars. They are currently recording their 10th studio album. Nice thing about them is that their video's never blocked so it's RUclips safe. (except for some Wacken video's that gets blocked by Wacken) If you really want to go down the Sabaton rabbit-hole, I would recommend these: (These are all from the Sabaton Channel, and they never block videos so it's safe to use) [live at Woodstock 2012]: 40:1 and Uprising [Great Tour Live Videos]: En Livstied I Krieg (make sure to turn subtitles on), Red Baron, Swedish Pagans, Primo Victoria, Fields of Verdun, Devil Dogs & Angels Calling [Lyric videos]: Attack of the dead men, In Flanders Fields, 82nd All the way, Sparta, Shiroyama and The lost betallion [Music Video's]: Bismarck, Defence of Moscow, Livgardet (make sure to turn subtitles on), Fields of Verdun, Rourke's Drift, Screaming Eagles, Uprising & Seven Pillars of wisdom [Animated History Video's]: Night Witches and No Bullets Fly (not animated music video's, the animated history/story video's) [Covers]: Kingdom Come - Deliverance and I'm sure people told you but in case, Sabaton have another channel (Sabaton History Channel) where they do a deep dive into the history behind the songs with Indy Nidell.
Sabaton is a Swedish band, which writes songs related to history events. They take the history serious and have their own Sabaton history channel. Live performances are often great, but there are some songs in which the story adds so much more in their videos. No bullets fly is such a song. The new drummer of Sabaton is married to Floor, lead singer in Nightwish. Other great Sabaton songs: 1. SABATON - THE PRICE OF A MILE The Price of a Mile - The Battle of Passchendaele - Sabaton History 058 [Official] 2. SABATON - No Bullets Fly (Animated Story Video) - This is not live but the story needs the animation. It is very emotional. No Bullets Fly - Charlie Brown and Franz Stigler - Sabaton History 016 [Official] 3. The Red Baron (Live - The Great Tour - Berlin... But it is the drummer here, whos married to Floor) The Red Baron - The Great War - Sabaton History 015 [Official] 4. Carolus Rex (Live - The Great Tour - Stockholm) Sabaton History Channel: Carolus Rex - Charles XII of Sweden - Sabaton History 084 [Official] 5. Winged Hussars (Live - The Great Tour - Warsaw) Sabaton History Channel: Winged Hussars - Polish Cavalry - Sabaton History 053 [Official] 6. Fields of Verdun Sabaton History Channel: Fields of Verdun - The Battle of Verdun - Sabaton History 010 [Official] 7. Night Witches (Animated Story Video) - Again a story and thus not live. Live: SABATON - Night Witches (Live - The Great Tour - Leipzig) Sabaton History Channel: Night Witches - Female Soviet Pilots - Sabaton History 050 [Official] 8. Sabaton - Swedish Pagans - Live at Wacken Open Air 2019 (ft Tina Gou) Sabaton History Channel: Swedish Pagans - Vikings & The Russ - Sabaton History 099 [Official] 9. En Livstid i Krig (A Lifetime of War) (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg) Sabaton History Channel: A Lifetime of War - Thirty Years War - Sabaton History 031 [Official] Sabaton History Channel: (Swedish, with subtitles) En Livstid i Krig - The Thirty Years War - Sabaton History 034 [Official] 10. A tripple reaction: Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God (Official Live Video) RAGE OF LIGHT - Twilight Of The Thunder God (AMON AMARTH COVER) Sabaton - Twilight Of The Thunder God (HD, Lyrics) 11. SABATON - 82nd All The Way ft. Amaranthe (Live - The Great Tour - Oslo) AMARANTHE - 82nd All The Way (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) As for Amaranthe is another Swedish band with a female lead vocalist, Elize Ryd. Elize auditioned for Nightwish after they fired Tarja, however she was deemed to young at the time. However during the Nightwish - The Denver Debacle (2012), when Anette was sick, she and Alissa White-Gluz (mostly Elize) helped Nightwish out. The audience was given a choice of canceling the concert or this alternative and they voted for the concert, which gave Elize and Alissa 30-40 minutes to prepare and learn the songs... Other great Amaranthe songs: Amaranthe - Helix Amaranthe - Digital World (Official Video)
Most of Sabaton songs aren't overly complex. Very anthemic, sing-a-long, catchy jammers. I've seen them live in San Antonio and they put on an awesome show. It was so much fun!
@@KarmaHoudini17 Oh yes, they are pure energy live, very boring on CD for me but if they are close by i always go see them, always fun to get hammered while sabaton is going nuts on stage.
One that is more complex is "fields of verdun" another is probably "seven pillars of wisdom" although I don't know how to play seven unlike I do with fields so with that one I am more so going off of sound.
Thank you for your recommendations! I'll try some others out. I did record a Sabaton reaction that isn't up in the channel yet, but will be as soon as I can edit it!

Might check out some more Sabaton on the channel down the road
Yesssss SABATON IS ALWAYS AMAZING 💕 💥 🔥
THANK YOU ❤️ SO MUCH

Ghost Division is always their opening song. Simplistic but it gets the crowd going.

Thanks for checking it out! I appreciate that! What song(s) did you listen to, out of curiosity?
@@KarmaHoudini17 I listened to your new album.
Thanks! Glad to hear you liked it 😄
A Swedish Band singing about a German Division invading Belgium/France in Poland...
😅
