So glad this series is back. Originally I used to watch them when I was at uni, I'd fall asleep to them. Then I got engaged when one of them was playing in the background. Now I'm married with 2 cats and a mortgage and I'm watching them whilst doing work 🥲

You should make it so they have to go very slow in front of the elementary school, that’s how it is in my town, and it’d make that route worse for the trucks

VERY IMPORTANT< IF JUNCTION IS TOO BIG GAME WILL BUG people cant cross, so the sims get stuck near the crossing, and accumulate. i lost 2 saves like that because after some time theres so many people there that deleting the node with everyone there crashes the game

@@GODOFHELLFIRE3 I would defnetly recomend the mod, a few carefull steps can prevent this, disallowing crossing and providing pathways where the crossing was is a great way to deal. Also, make sure that when editing the nodes you leave the segment corners near each other.

I'm not a huge fan of the line painting. A little bit is fine, but I don't find it very interesting when it goes on for a long time. My favorite part is when you go to a blank space and start building roads while explaining what kind of area it will be. And you zone it and add parks and pathways and special buildings, then the people start moving in and building it up! I like to imagine what it would be like to live in that area or drive through. I love when you put little corner stores, and I can imagine walking down a block or two on a hot day to grab a popsicle or walking on the little paths to get to a park! Very quaint and satisfying to me to think about the lives these little people can live

I find it very relaxing watching you detail the city... I also learn some things, and/or get new ideas for my own gameplay. I just started playing recently again after a few years of not playing, and then I saw you had a new series up and I was like "just in time to get back in the game." I had a decent city going, but then I had a horrible death wave and my whole economy collapsed... it did not recover from that. P.S.: Yeah some of the street marking are strange to me, but like you said you are going by what you know. I grew up in the U.S. but I am currently living in Mexico, I don't drive here since almost everyone I know here has stick shift and I only know how to drive an automatic but I do see the markings on the roads are different here than back home in the U.S.

I don't mind seeing line markers being done on camera. I like seeing how you process it and make the decisions. Didn't you used to have an external road editing program that lets you add parking and lane markers to existing roads? I feel like that could save time on your end if you were to use tweaked roads frequently in other areas like when you were adding parking lines to the 4+2 lane off the highway in your city.

I learnt a neat trick with making sure your one way laneways don’t attract through traffic. Have all the East/west roads run ‘in’ to the centre, and all the north/south roads run ‘out’ to the edges. Then cars that go in have to turn 90deg to turn out and can’t go straight through no matter where they’re coming from or going to.

Bowser Bay sounds wonderful☺ And I enjoyed your detailing parts. I wouldn't say I'd watch 1,5 hours of road management, but this episode had a nice mix of everything. It's impressive to see this city grow and it all makes sense. I'm not sure the low residential will stay happy next to high commercial in your latest district, but I'm happy to find out next time!!

I like it when you spend some time on road management and lines and similar - much more than parks and deco stuff and trees. Keep up the nice work!

Loved the episode! I think as you expand, make another highway, or expansion of the current one, and when you get to the airport, you can build a toll road! That'll generate some hefty revenue!

The waterfront area reminds me of Queenstown's lakefront, along with parts of Tauranga and Auckland (all in NZ), as well as St Kilda in Melbourne. If you ever need ideas for the beaches in this series/city, it might be worth having a look.

I think the line drawing is a bit boring, but it looks cool. I think you should do it a bit, but not incredibly detailed

Very happy this series is back in my life. I don’t think you should worry yourself too much with planning out where railways should go or making room for future traffic. Many real cities don’t grow with that level of foresight and the result would be that you come up with more natural and improvised city design. It’s a much easier and much less stressful way to make a city seem more grounded.
As for the Lane marking stuff, I personally don’t find it that interesting? It’s getting bogged down in details that ultimately don’t matter too much and could sacrifice being cut. Keep it in though if you enjoy it!
Finally, now you’re starting out High Density zoning, you should check out an excellent video that Overcharged Egg put out last week about making early high density looking good. I’ve found it really helped my cities! ☺️
    Can’t wait for more
