The #FordMustang has been a part of the American staple for the last 55 years and because of its iconic history, enthusiasts have constantly demanded more of everything from Ford. The company has always delivered that with the #ShelbyGT500 which has been around for the last 50+ years. For 2020, there’s a new #GT500 and even though #CarrollShelby didn’t have his personal touch on this new version, #FordPerformance is promising it would have made him proud with 760 HP from a 5.2L Supercharged V8, it’s the most powerful, quickest accelerating, and best handling #ShelbyMustang that #Ford has ever produced.
Good morning from the East Coast! We hope you guys enjoyed this video, our editor, Rob spent a bit more time on the intro and we had some great footage from the drag strip and the track to show you guys. We will be uploading a second video showing our three runs at the drag strip and our three laps on the track by this weekend, so come back at the end of the week for the really fun driving footage. Ford Performance really knocked it out of the park with this new Shelby GT500 and it'll prove to all the haters that you don't necessarily need AWD... with the right tires, suspension tuning, and transmission putting all of those 760 horses to the pavement! Also - we apologize for the slightly off sounding audio during the interior scene, there was a short in one of our audio cables that occurred during the track and drag strip driving scenes and its making it sound a bit muted. The bad cable was thrown out so future videos will not be affected.

It's a great looking Mustang even for someone like me that is not a fan of muscle cars. (Side note: When you get a chance to drive this car again, perhaps do a small update on that part where the sound cuts off.) Everything before that was great 👍.

Mpg doesn’t matter at all. The tank is small though. So while the mileage doesn’t matter the amount you get each fill up is what’s bad. Then again love every other part of the car so it’s all good

One of my favorite things about this car is the refresh rate of the speedometer; it hits every number as you accelerate.

the seats do fold if you option not to get the carbon fiber track package. They don't fold with the package since there are no rear seats if you option the CFTP.
After you said it has a "Snake Button" I started building one on Ford's website.

This car is amazing. The only problem is, you can get a loaded C8 with a Z51 package at this price point. The interior in that thing is on par with the base 911. The Shelby will sell well as a sports car though, this car holds true to it's mustang roots while still offering great track performance. Also, given all the negative PR that GM has been getting, I think some impatient people will cancel their C8 order, and rather buy the Shelby or a Euro sports car.

This car is over weight and over rated, its going to be a big flopper. C8 ZO6 is going to knock the shit out of all these cars.. Rather buy a GT350R lighter and still has the mustang tradition with a manual gear box, instead of this knobby looking bologna transmission dial. What a joke..

So a couple things he failed to mention is that it's also a Dual-Cam, 4V engine. Amazing!!
This one awesome machine, lots of power and great styling. But no standard transmission? How do you get a car like this and not have a manual shift. Even if I could afford this car I doubt if I can get my arthritic body into it. LOL All that power and an automatic transmission, just doesn’t seem right somehow.

So add 4/10ths of a second for real world #s, it's the same with all Hi-Po american muscle....FYI those are the Numbers for the Track pack model, regular one due mainly to the tires (PS4 on the stock vs. Cup2 tires on the track pack model).

$10,000 to put two basic stripes down the vehicle? That's not labor cost, unless you think the guy is making $5k/hr. You can get premium racing stripes for $500 at a shop.

Oh and the hellcat does not have adaptive cruise. Only on the 5.7L and 6.4L because of the extra cooling in the front. That's why I prefer the mustang because there's no blank buttons on the steering wheel like the challenger or the charger.
I doubt very much that the design of this European-inspired Mustang would have made Carroll Shelby proud. Several sources at Ford have said that the blueprint was simply thought of after a group of their junior scientists decided to morph the Focus and Fusion with a touch of the Aston Martin. Very appealing for Ford’s European market. Not so much here in the U.S.. Sales were “moderately” high in 2015 but have steadily declined since then

IDK.....theres such a thing as too refined/manicured, or buttoned down. I've owned a plethora of performance cars, and my 13 gt 500 is one of my all time favorites. Like you said, and I'll take it as the best compliment you can give it. It is " crude". Its actually homicidal, and has a murderous soul. That's what makes it so much fun! Being able to send 632 ft lbs of torque through a six speed manual is an absolute RIOT! It's scary, its raw, and it's fun, even if just putting around town with it. Seems lately they build cars just so the auto journalists can pack their stat sheets. I get it. But for a lot of people they want a car that's a hoot to drive, not just on a track, or strip, but where most drive, on the regular roads. 73k starting price and theres not even a supercharger whine? Wheres the soul in that?
