Only someone looking for the ultimate Mustang would buy this, I think. It's NOT a muscle car anymore. It's a sports car. And at 100K+, I don't think most people would want this when they could get an M4, C63s coupe, Porsche Cayman, etc for similar or less money. Still, he's right. This baby is for collectors. I'm a BMW guy all the way but I'd take this over a M4 any day of the week. A lot more car for the money. You get this without the track pack and it's $75-80k. I hate the way the M4s and M3s sound these days too. Sound horrible!

This car is for the track. People who want this as a daily driver are probably the same people who buy V8 trucks then complain about gas mileage😕. Purposely built vehicles should be used for their purpose.
As much as I'd love to own one of those, I can't imagine the frustration of having to drive it every day like a civilized human being. I think about what it would feel like after getting my second speeding ticket within a week of purchase (which would be very easy to do) and then calculating what those points were going to cost me on insurance, (if they were even willing to still cover me) and then realizing that I was going to have to drive it like an old lady for the next three or four years because one more ticket would be the end of my license.

But Ford is the only one to just stop making cars. I just said I stopped buying ford because of it. Not as a retaliation, but because I have no need for a truck or van. I don't get why some many reviews knocked on the GT500 interior for being the same on a regular Mustang. A $250K 911 Turbo S has the same interior as a $90K 911, plus some carbon, stitching, better supportive seats, but the info system is the same, switches are the same, same layout, same doors, same carpet, etc...you can add the $150K Audi RS6 Advant to the $50k Audi A6, a $50K Vette to a $120K Z06, BMW 530 to the M5, the list goes on and on. I don't know if any performance car that has a completely different layout from its cheaper counterpart, the visuals is what some people are spending too much type harping over, but its the things you don't see on the GT500 vs a regular GT is why it's more expensive, the transmission, dual clutch, carbon shaft, etc....
Shelby would vomit if he knew the price of these things. He always said he wanted a affordable high performance car that the working man can afford. Just before he died, the 2013 Shelby GT500 was $50k and 662HP.
So the same acceleration as the top spec Mustang Mach e, which has AWD, and has a lot more space, and you can drive it in the winter. Actually, the Mach e will beat it at a light, because traction.
10K for painted on stripes? Sheesh, and people say Porsches have overpriced options.. An aftermarket paint shop (which is probably what Ford would use through it's dealer network anyways, only with significant dealer markups), would do a better job for less than half the price.

It has a very tough competition. OK, it wastes hp a bit (just like many muscle cars) compared with Nismo, wich is more track focused, more techy, more precisely built. Overall for that price, that is an inmpressive car. I would pick Camaro ZL1 1LE over this because of engine and easier control because it has just enough hp and does not weigh much + is also a bit cheaper - for $ saved you can always add a bit of power to it. :) GT500 has only 2 disadvatages, brakes could be better and interior in looks very cheap nowadays. Anyway, great review.
I’d take a GT500 because I love mustangs, but if someone asked me if they wanted a track weapon and what they should get, I’d say ZL1LE. Cheaper and arguably better at the track.

A lot of mustangs are on the roads in America and most of them do look very similar like the gt’s and eco boost but the gt500 especially one with the carbon fiber track pack doesn’t even look remotely close to the base model mustangs.

I am surprised that you used such strong words to describe the previous 2013 GT500. "Terrible in the corners"? It was on par with the 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 and as good or better than the 2009 Nissan GT-R, the latter of which was considered the car of the year by Motortrend Magazine. Both the above cars were listed as among the "Best Handling cars". I do agree that the 2020 is much better.
There's no manual because Ford says that this car has too much torque to the rear wheels.. Some drivers wouldn't be able to handle that much torque driving a manual and as far as safety goes..

I am surprised that you used such strong words to describe the previous 2013 GT500. "Terrible in the corners"? It was on par with the 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 and as good or better than the 2009 Nissan GT-R, the latter of which was considered the car of the year by Motortrend Magazine. Both the above cars were listed as among the "Best Handling cars". I do agree that the 2020 is much better.

There's no manual because Ford says that this car has too much torque to the rear wheels.. Some drivers wouldn't be able to handle that much torque driving a manual and as far as safety goes..
