@@misst.e.a.187 it,s Gillian de Terville. Carol Kenyon and Heaven 17 had a dispute over money, so she replaced her, although it is Kenyon's voice.Maybe you need stronger glasses,to distinguish the one from the other.
I watched the movie Trainspotting and spent a week trying to remember. who did this song. 1983 college, music was actual music, people played instruments, no auto-tune, no c-rap shit.
The real singer was Carol Kenyon, but in both this video and the official music video it's Gillian de Terville. Carol does appear on Top of the Pops though.
@@borisbrosowski6630 srsly mate, she was 'demanding too much money'? Why should she not know her worth and expect to be paid for this? Carol/Karol Kenyon was performing professionally from age 14. She had an esteemed jazz background. Her voice made this song, period. As a Black woman, adding vocals to so may pop hits, she deserved/deserves to be respected, valued, honoured and well-paid. There are so many so-called backing singers, often Black women, whose contributions to the hits they have helped create are not recognised. Still the case in 2023 sadly. Peace x
Mate, you are still referring to women as 'birds'. What sexist cave have you been living in for the last 40 years? I pity any women in your life, really I do. Please educate yourself on sexism. Peace☮
A great song! And in about a week it will be 41 years old again.
How time flies...
This is as fresh and as superb as it ever was and ever will be. It brings back tonnes of wonderful memories of 1983.
Wow, incredible vocals !
What a superb pop song!
Geile 80er Musik. Das beste Musikjahrzehnt. Ich würde gerne die Zeit zurückdrehen
The original can never, ever be bettered:)
Correct; what a great song it still is
Wow! She’s beautiful! Amazing figure!
When I read up on the video, I found she was a Sun page 3 girl of the time. No wonder she rocked that dress.
Was it Carol Kenyon on Backing vox/Chorus? Amazing vocalist, should have been a massive artist in her own right, and what a beautiful lady! dx
no ,it was not Carol kenyon
@@cryptonas Yes, it was, and spelt Karol

I remember the video.. she was in it but was she the backing singer wow 😘
I think even Glenn Gregory realised he was the backing singer here!

This is a ripping pop song from that fantastic early 80s period
Love it!
Wow!!!
Carol, is it?
Love the way she is holding the microphone like a karaoke singer. 🙂
No it's a model. Carol was demanding too much money to appear.

@@tracesmith3241 Read Martyn Ware's autobiography. If you don't like what you read there, just bother him. Ok, dude?
Primal Scream and Denise Johnston spring to mind. Sad to see the way that panned out. @@tracesmith3241
@@borisbrosowski6630 I've been meaning to read that book for ages. Thanks for reminding me.
einfach Super !!!!!!!
Pretty page3 girl was lipsyncing over Carol Kenyon"s recirding
I think she's the same girl who appears in the video for Is It Love by Gang Of Four.
It's a typo - sorry "RECORDING"
This IS Carol Kenyon. Just watch some of her photos on Google.

Never knew Nick Griffin was in H17. I suppose they did in fact, need that fascist groove thang.
Never seen this before where was it filmed
Belgium I think.
I like the 92 remix better. The woman, I think her name is is Carol Kenyon, is hotter than july!
The lads, with friend. 👍😎🙃
Great song but pretty obviously lip syncing.
Pity it's not live singing.
The black bird is fantastic
Really
Try again Micky.
