I can never get enough of the 80's music. Born in 1970 and grew up listening to the best music ever. Love and miss the 80's,I wish I could could go back in time and live there FOREVER....
I was born in 1953 and graduated he in '71 so this music was perfect timing for me. No worries...everyone got along...too bad they are no longer here...
I have you by 5 years and I completely agree, the 80's were the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!! So much fun!!!!!! The music, clothes, attitude (most of it) and the girls were all fantastic! I met my wife back then and we're still together all these years later. Unfortunately we cannot go back in time, but its fun to look back!!!!
Did anyone recognize the girl at the beginning of this video? Her name is Patsy Kensit. She played "Rika" in Lethal Weapon 2 and was also lead singer in the 1980s band "Eighth Wonder."
Just had a visit with John and Valerie. They are doing great and we are all working through the loss of Nu Shooz Bass player and Brother Gary Fountaine. Timeless Bass Line !!
Yes they still do 2 this day Ik I was so in love with my wife and everything 4 22 years till death did us part 5 years ago RIP Btw 💘 this song and the second released single that year point of no return and the cute 🎶 Music 📹 video with the 👞 shoes and all. That's pretty much all I wanna say about that. ✌ 💘 😊
John Smith is such a cool cat! Look at him. It's like he's thinking "I've got this Eighties decade worked out. We're cashin' in and all I have to do is play this guitar." Love it!
Senior year in high school & this song was very cool. It hit #3 in Spring of 1986. To be honest 34 years later, I Can't Wait for this quarantine to be lifted for all of us to be uplifted 💚💜💙💖.
The quality of pop music in the 80's was quite good. But rock was even better. Check out groups such as Los Lobos, The Blasters, The Del-lords, The Violent Femmes, Rank and File, The Del Fuegos, Chris Isaack among many others. Some are still with us today
I play the hell out off this when I’m working out. Bad ass track it as that funk and R&B vibe, which I believe that made it so popular and addictive to this day.❤️
"We even had calls from former band members once they saw this was eventually going to be a hit." This very gal here explaining how looong this took to chart. And that this version is a remix of a remix of a.......
Yes. It was originally released independently back in 1984, then it was remixed by a DJ remix company called Hot Tracks, then when it was released as a single in The Netherlands, the record label there had someone remix it even further there, and that became the mix that made it become the international hit it was.
This song came out in the 1980's when I heard this group name and I thought it was just coolest name in music history and they released poolside in 1986 and only song I loved by them was I can't wait
This song is a hood classic! When this song first came out and I heard the funky base line, I thought this was a black band.. walking around the neighborhood with my boom box and this song kicking back in 85! Big up Nu Shooz!!!🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

They were also one of the very few White Acts to do Soul Train in the 1980's. It was a Top Five Smash on The R & B Chart as well and went to Number One on The Dance Chart.
All these years I thought this song was performed by a black female. Because I don't think I ever saw who was singing this until now. This is one of the songs that I used to listen to on Saturdays driving to the night club.
Without words, I always go back in time when I listen to this excellent band from the golden years.

This is one of the most underrated songs of the 80’s.
So so good!
AMEN
One of many, in my view
I hated this back in the 80s.
Oh, Valerie, with your 50s hair and 70s voice and your 80s moves! WOW, that sharp move she does after 2:06 and she flirts eyes at the camera!
Don't forget the 'Sharp Dressed Corp Attire Woman.,,." 😊😊😊😊
@@TheIroczcamaro She has the Hot Flight Attendant thing right DOWN
I don't think I've ever seen a singer look more happy when she's singing than Valerie Day does
She’s a cutie and a half

Best use of the Agogo Bells in pop music.
Getting ready for school in the morning jamming to this song freshman year good time's.
One of my favorites....soon I here this song automatic foot movement.. classic 💯👌
Patsy kensit, eight wonder, lethal weapon 2
And of course the Peter slaghuis (hithouse) remix of nu shooz. R. I. P.
Those vocals are obviously not live but the studio vocals are classy. Restrained and cool.
I love it when a lady does chill vocals. It lets you hear what she's thinking.
One of my favorite songs from '86. I find the singer really 🔥 hot too
