Not long after this came out my parents took my brother and I (aged 12 and 13) for a pub lunch one Saturday in Primrose Hill, London. Glenn Gregory walked into the pub about half way through and I don't think I've ever been more star struck. In my memory he was wearing a floor-length black coat but maybe I've embellished the memory over time.
Pretty much every famous person ever. At some point in their life. Has lived in Primrose Hill. That's probably why it's so expensive. To live there 🤔🤨😆
We saw them in Cardiff last night. They were absolutely amazing. Just as good as the 80's, better actually. They had so much fun on stage. They had everyone singing and dancing

I spent an absolute fortune on the jukebox in our local pub, playing this amazing song, when I was at University in the 80s. Still an absolutely classic, what great days for music they were.
I was a year old when this song was released. I can't have a week within listenning to it and my 4 year old daughter loves it too! Thanks Trainspotting!! ✌🏼😁❤️
The actual singer didnt want to appear in the video so they got a page 3 girl, this chick, that looked exactly like the singer . She's still good at lip syncing though
Was grateful to see Heaven 17 perform in Dubai last week 42 years later having bought all their albums They were brilliant creatively and critically lauded as such during 1981 and I loved every moment of their show. They were so good it brought back so many memories and a few tears as well Thanks guys for just being so awesome and brilliant on the night 😊
I didn't fully appreciate just how good Heaven 17 were back then. I went to see them Live last year at Guildford and they were still so good to listen too
Great record. I love the 'Cabinet of Dr Caligari' type set they used. If they had shot it in black and white Glenn would have looked just like an actor from a silent German expressionist film.
I went to the dentist, he had the radio on. Had a wisdom tooth that had to come out. Dentist gave me the needles in the mouth, then as he grabbed the tooth, this song came on. And when the first chorus kicked in - POW!, out came the tooth! Quick and easy. Thanks Heaven 17! 😁
This is such a great track, the production and execution are spot on, love the rousing way it builds. Music is nothing like as good as this, these days.

NO other song reminds me more of the 80's than this. My first house party, my first drink, my first girlfriend, my first crush, my awakening all happened with this song.
"Heroin had robbed Renton of his sex drive, but now it returned with a vengeance. And as the impotence of those days faded into memory, grim desperation took hold of his sex-crazed mind. His post-junk libido, fuelled by alcohol and amphetamine, taunted him remorselessly with his own unsatisfied desire, dot, dot, dot!"

Definitely in my top 3 greatest 80's tracks , whats amazing about this track is the constant tempo changes & How smart you would need to be to create it, the climax at the end of the track is genious and the whole track opens and closes perfectly, its inclusion in the nightclub scene of Trainspotting really added something aswell
