I believe this particular single came out in 1979, but yeah, I share your sentiment. In my opinion the last decent year for pop music in general and the last time I could actually listen to the radio without having the change the station when dog shit came on was 1987...specifically August. I remember it was a particularly hot day, we were riding in my friend's Mustang Convertible going to Cedar Point and something I can only describe as Rap came on the station and it has been down hill since.

Blondie, Debbie Harry was soooo ahead of her time. There are times, when you listen or look at music from decades ago and it is cringe worthy. Not Blondie, she's timeless, and looks even futuristic, from 2024 vantage point!!!
She was amazing last week in Australia at pandemonium. She couldn't sing as she once had but the music was amazing. Thank you
I love everything Blondie. Debbie is a living goddess. The band is amazing. This incredible music is truly timeless. And YES I listen to Blondie VERY loud.
So many levels of art happening here.
One of my favorite punk songs ever! Best heard by blasting on large speakers 😂😂😂. All hail the early 80s!!
Just some trivia the supermodel Gia was in this video. She was the one with brunette hair and goggles on. RIP Gia!! 🙏🙏🙏
Debby -a beauty in every way: music, style, personality !❤
One of the best riffs ever...its just make you feel cool!
One of my favorite songs of my life, probably the best when pumpped up on the stereo system. Thank you Blondie for providing us such a pleasure for decades... Your prensence is a gift to us....
Ohh das ist Hammer
Seen Blondie maybe ten years ago and Debbie still sounded great, when they started playing this, the crowd went crazy, I mean seriously into it... I loved it, never forget that moment...
Your a lucky man!! Would have loved to have seen Blonde in concert.
I know what you mean I was at her 1979 concert inLA and we nuts hearing this song
Blondie...what's not to like?
Thank god I was part off theses amazing times
Hard to believe this was 38 years ago, it still sounds so incredibly fresh.
I know, damn I'm getting older!!! Lol.
Unbelievable, one year before I was born...
Though never heard or saw the original. Wow!
vordman sounds horrendous
Yes, as fresh as 90% of the music made in the 70´s.
39
Blondie is undeniably iconic! I watched her perform this song last night in Chicago. What a kick ass concert!
Very cool!!
Blondie is the group tithead -the singer is Debbie Harry..................
I might want to see a concert of hers... I've only gone to one concert myself, and that was the Royal Affair in 2019 or something
Watched THEM….Blondie is a band, not just the girl.
This song brings back childhood memories for me.I was only 11 years old when this record came out in 1979,what a year that was for music.
ja, genau wie ich. 11 Jahre alt
You are so right im a year older than you so for me 78/79.
You are so lucky to have lived through such a wonderful era of music, and just life in general! (Yes I may be a little jealous 😂)
Why, DAMN IT, did the 80's have to be so damn GREAT!! Why?!?!
I was a new wave disc jockey..on radio..with records..it was the most idellic time❤
@@tobybasich7465 where and what station???
I believe this particular single came out in 1979, but yeah, I share your sentiment. In my opinion the last decent year for pop music in general and the last time I could actually listen to the radio without having the change the station when dog shit came on was 1987...specifically August. I remember it was a particularly hot day, we were riding in my friend's Mustang Convertible going to Cedar Point and something I can only describe as Rap came on the station and it has been down hill since.
Does it matter they were so great? The issue for me is they were too short, they were over far too fast.
@@TessaGregory-ze9kk agreed, they went by way to fast.
L'âge d'or
Blondie has been one of my favorite bands since I was a child. I remember when the song Atomic was first released, it had a huge impact on me and has been one of my favorite songs among other songs by Blondie. ❤
Couldn't agree more, I loved this song when I was 10 years old when top of the pops played this song, Blondie is still rocking it today,😊
@@michaelgallagher6691 Absolutely agree with you Blondie still rocking it
This is a song from another dimension - pure energy!
Forgot how good it was😊
That drummer is first class!

This track gets better and better with every listen, there are so many layers to it...thanks Blondie!!

Sarah StaRoth me too
I used to work with a girl who looked like her.
Me too
She looks absolutely gorgeous...I still love her...she.s the quintessential front woman with beauty and mystery in her performances.
A toast (ok, you can stop throwing bread at me) to Debbie 🍸🍸🍸
Klik Date A toast...to bread!
Perfection !
1:11 this part absolutely amazes me everytime, I can just feel my soul ascending
Wow that’s always been my favorite part too since discovering this masterpiece through another: Vice City. She even voices the cab company owner.
When she says B E A U T I F U L , my dopamine level defines gravity and I absolutely love it
The arrangements and many riffs through this song are amazing and off course Debbie, I think it's safe to say she has become an icon of culture now.
So, so damn good.....'Atomic' is one of those songs that comes on in my car, and I don't pull in my driveway until it's over. It's such a layered song that every time I hear it, I hear something different or new. Great song!
SoCalScott10 I particularly like the synths, they're very subtly done but still there
arguably pound-for-pound the best drummer that ever lived
Still one of my favourite songs of all time. Absolutely spectacular
There is nobody that exists today that could ever pull off wearing a garbage bag lol, what a gorgeous woman. I remember being 9 years old watching her on VHS day in and out playing with my legos, playing Atari, she was always playing in the background, I miss those days. These days suck, but those days were absolutely awesome and nobody but the ones who grew up listening to her will ever understand
Fr bro. We didnt realise just how good we had it.
You're right, she is wearing a garbage bag !!! 😳😂👍
I grew up listening to her too .. I’ve tried the bin liner.I don’t seem to have effect ..She is sex on legs.Oh well I tried …. she is amazingly and a beautiful woman. She would look anything sexy.
when I was 7 she sang on the telly Denis denis, And I was immediately in love, 47 years later I think got what did I have a good taste in Woman when I was a kid, lol
She's beautiful in anything
Love the drumming by Clem on this. Superb
❤❤❤❤❤
