One of the biggest hits of the 80s. And it will probably be a hit forever. ABC's debut album is almost 100 percent hits. Incredible. Many bands can only do this with a greatest hits album.

How could I not like this? It's generational, Stephen. I preferred loud thumping rock from a powerful home or car stereo that a guy could toke up and bang his Betty to. This sort of music dripping out of my cheap $5 speaker in my 19" Hitachi TV made me think the next generation was "Light in their Sperry Top-Siders."
80's Nostalgia aside, listen to the lyrics and notice the delivery there is a deep profound feel and expression in this song and the quality of the video production, not to mention the musical genius.
Memories of when I was 18 in 1982. Not only a fantastic song but the carnival atmosphere really worked here, ABC knew how to use the new media of music videos.
ABC were part of the New Romantic era of music where music and fashion merged. It was almost like a 2nd British invasion: Duran Duran, Culture Club, ABC, Kajagoogoo., Human League, Spandau Ballet. Loved every one of em. This was a great time I'll never forget. MTV launces 1981. What a time it was .....miss it

The quintessential early 80s song. Along with "Don't You Want Me," "Tainted Love," "Do You Really want to Hurt Me," "Do You Wanna Hold Me," "Ant Music," etc. etc. etc.

Martin was the man back in the day . Great singer with some major swag. That bass hook and strings are pure 80's pop perfection. Love the vocal break with ..they say Marty maybe one day you'll find find true love...ahhh say maybe
Shane Anthony I
His name is Marlon...
Lovely so lovely Shane Anthony writing this lettter!!
He's been married for 33 years.
No, it's Martin. Martin Fry. He was born in 1958, so he was very young in this video!
Needed a pick me up today so I tuned into this! Thank goodness for the 80’s❤😉
This is the sound of good moving and get down music. How could you not like this?
My mother was born in the 70's , I'm glad she can show me song like this . I'm 14 year old
How could I not like this? It's generational, Stephen. I preferred loud thumping rock from a powerful home or car stereo that a guy could toke up and bang his Betty to. This sort of music dripping out of my cheap $5 speaker in my 19" Hitachi TV made me think the next generation was "Light in their Sperry Top-Siders."
@@IMCcanTWEESTED Exactly well said 🤚
80's...years of progress and happiness!!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Yep, - The Brit Pop music of the 80’s and 90’s were some good music.. Gotta Love ❤️

80's Nostalgia aside, listen to the lyrics and notice the delivery there is a deep profound feel and expression in this song and the quality of the video production, not to mention the musical genius.
Yep, best reply.
Memories of when I was 18 in 1982. Not only a fantastic song but the carnival atmosphere really worked here, ABC knew how to use the new media of music videos.
Saw ABC tonight at Royal Albert Hall in London, still crazy perfect! Martin Fry is a legend
Lucky You!!
A legend he is.
Where is @dominic 6013?
ABC were part of the New Romantic era of music where music and fashion merged. It was almost like a 2nd British invasion: Duran Duran, Culture Club, ABC, Kajagoogoo., Human League, Spandau Ballet. Loved every one of em. This was a great time I'll never forget. MTV launces 1981. What a time it was .....miss it
Oh I wish I could’ve grown up throughout this incredible decade. Tracks like this really embody just how inventive and fresh the music was. This is timeless
They were fun wonderful days for sure...we had so much fun
Well, you can at least live in the '80's vicariously by enjoying all those songs from then on YT!!!
I lived it, I clubbed it, greatest music ever, tons of nice girls, ...
where is that time machine ??
I grew up then. I was unbelievably spoiled. I had no idea at the time how special it was.
I went through my teenage years in the 80's. Fantastic time to be alive.
I just turned 54 today and I still love this music ...Big part of my life!!....I use to throw big underground warehouse parties back in the 80's in Los Angeles and this was the music we played!!!...New wave dance craze back then!!....Miss it!!!😪...D.
@Max Moss lol...thnx Max!...D.
What were the best tunes back then? The ones that got the best reactions in this genre and others??
Im 19 years old but I love your generation of music 😆
KROQ was the rock of the 80s 😎
Lots of good memories 1980 to 84.
@@PhilAVega KROQ!!!...That's right!!...Just took me back!😎...D.
I'm 62 and have heard a lot of music and seen a lot of videos. Nothing like the 80's! I love it!
Everything was new and fresh. So much variety everywhere you looked. It had something for everyone.
smhmay1973 you bet
smhmay1973 that was very rude and nasty
I thought seventies were better xxxx
@The Bibliognost I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!! THE 60s 70s 80s were the BEST!!!!.
I love a band with a sense of humour. So many 80s bands took themselves far too seriously. This video is so much fun.
This song was massive.....a gold hit all over the world!!!!!!!
I am 55 and I miss the 80s greatest era ever

You have to remember that for us 80's kids, there was nothing before MTV! Then all the sudden we had these crazy videos! It was great!
Exactly!!
You mean these AWESOME videos
and we have the monkees to thank for that (well, mike anyway)
We would have never had a second British invasion without MTV. I'm 56, and I loved it!!
@@scotabot7826 That's the truth!
Went to ABC concert in Helsinki in 1983, still love this band.
So glad I grew up during the Brit-pop invasion of the '80's. Nothing today even comes close to being this good!!!
Me too!!! British invasion was warmly welcome.
+plumeria66 yes it was
Misha Betts it was the second wave of the British invasion
Matthew L'Herault Tomatoe tomato
Misha Betts .... let the good times roll.
Saw them on the 14th February 1982 in Paris. Brilliant album and he could sing. So happy to have been a New Romantic. For the theatrically inclined those were great clubbing nights. Thank you Mr Fry for some amazing memories
40 years later , here we are still listening to the best music.
It was the best time in my live.
It was the best time in everyone’s life
Beautiful
I’m in my 50s now and this is the happiest song I’ve ever heard....have always loved it!!

One of the very best music videos created in history. So many morals, shimmery costumes and wonderful vocals produced by Martin and the team!!! :) Well done Stephen, Martin, David & Mark
The quintessential early 80s song. Along with "Don't You Want Me," "Tainted Love," "Do You Really want to Hurt Me," "Do You Wanna Hold Me," "Ant Music," etc. etc. etc.
True spandau ballet
Alfred C. Martino Vienna Ultravox
This song stands the test of time ❤
This song will always make me feel good inside, I was young no worries, no hate from anyone just living life as I needed.
I feel the same way as you do, so do millions of us everywhere...those were such wonderful days and nights..I miss them terribly
@@Apollo_Blaze I agree with every word you said
Those in the truth movement today are so fond of saying that this is a greatest time to be alive as we witness the great awakening, but I’d happily trade the rest of my life for a chance to relive the 80s. Now those were truly magical times. Who agrees?
Oh my god ! miss the 80's so much !
Que genial canción. La letra, el ritmo, la voz de Martin. Una joya de la música.
I was cleaning out my closet and found my bag of (45) records and this song was among them. Good tunes and great times of the 80’s. Yes I’m old and generation X.

Just brilliant! Blessed to have come of age in the 80s. Sorry if you missed it.

This song is so modern for 1982, it's still awesome in 2016. I fucking love it.

Anne Dudley's strings on this just make the whole record. Wouldn't be in the same category of classic music without them...
