i'm messing with it as i'm writing this comment, just utterly confused about how force parameters work with one another, i'll have to keep looking i guess
so useful! Only half way through it when I write this to be honest but I didn't realise that I could use fractal noise like this to create a map for the effect. Thanks a lot for pausing to explain what was going on & why you were doing it as well - probably more helpful than the walkthrough GG
Thanks for the info! It would be cool if you say the parameters and the values always as you went for easy follow along. I had instances where I would go to AE to input the values, then had to quickly move back to the tutorial, rewind and watch to see what value you put; because the parameter values were not specified all the time. The speed of this video was INSANELY fast, yet with multiple pauses and rewinds I was able to follow. Also would be cool to have the tutorial go the other way, and have the image disintegrate. Thanks again!
Excellent video. I am trying to find a way to make a logo slam down onto the screen appearing to crack the glass but not completely shatter it. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?
I wrote this effect 20 years ago... really gratifying to see people are still doing cool new things with it.
You wrote Shatter!? Dude that is so awesome. Do you still develop for AE? Feel free to send me an email :) danny@pluginplay.app
This effect is older than me dude
Plugin Play haha no been a while since I wrote AE code, but thanks!

It would have been great to have all the sound effects in the project files as well. Thank you for this tutorial!

Thanks for your feedback! I will slow things down and document better next time :)
muito obrigado!!! PT BR
8:48 What is the red fill needed for? Very interesting technique, thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoy! The fill effect is so that we can quickly get an inverted alpha of the matte and then get a drop shadow from that :)
This is really great! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed :)
LOL Copy Pasta! I am stealing that!
Check it out here! app.pluginplay.app/tool/copy-pasta

any way to have the dirt or particles accumulate on a floor? with gravity pulling it down and falling across a floor naturally looking?
Great tutorial! How did you figure this out? Also, what graphics card do you have?
cool, I couldn't find a decent tut. However, is it possible that only a certain part of the logo is affected? Like with a mask or something?
Thank you!
You got it!
seting start time?
Is there a way to make the particles interact with another object..? 🤔
really great
Thanks so much!
I used Text instead of which ever file type the logo is. Does Text not work for this?
