It could be your timing or mine.Had a similar problem. When I originally got the car the Main jet was too small lack of fuel

On mine, I cut the air vacuum advance from the carburetor and plugged it at the carburetor I set. The distributor timing in one position permanently. Then I put a bigger main jet for fuel in it. And started to play with the distributor setting where it was at and the air screw till it become perfect and I could nail it. If it is.
In line 235 straight 6.With this Carburetor. Them are the things you'll have to do To dial it in. This will be the start point What I did you can do. They are finicky. Even mine, unless the car is fully warm. They don't really like being nailed with a single barrel and tell it starts to warm for about 15 minutes, then you're good. And you can start to make your adjustments you need to. To be able to nail into it without issues

Look on the very front of the Carburetor It is stamped on the portion that turns to metal. On the front in between the 2 bolts that hold it to the intake. If you clean up that front lower portion , you should see a number. That is the only one I have.

Where does the heat line connect too? The block?

@@ralphraptor660 There is a little Square metal piece with a hole in it setting directly on the manifold. It slips through that hole goes straight up to the carb.
