Metal: The only genre where you can watch someone intensely enjoy a song about an infamous Nazi and the holocaust without it being weird or off-putting 🤣
It’s only comforting knowing that half the band were Latino…Tom Araya (Chilean) and Dave Lombardo (Cuban). And yes…Tom was raised Catholic. I loved his take on one of their album titles GOD HATES US ALL (“God doesn’t hate…it’s a great f*cking title.). They were always pointing a mirror at humanity, which has been, as is, nasty at its worst. But metal was ALWAYS the catharsis.
@@GhoulishGrinMedia That God hates us all album is imo soooo underrated. It is quite special style too compared to the other albums.
I also love that uncensored album cover (with the nailed bible :) )
Yup, I absolutely have to agree with that mess or mfk'in screaming their allegiance to he who owns below...Praise Hell Satan, Satan, Satan, Satan and not really mean it bur love how badass it jams either.
God gates us all was released on September 11 2001. The day The world trade centers were attacked. Only slayer could have that happen too them
@@aaroncordes2444 That's crazy lmao
Just an FYI Dave Lombardo is on the Mount Rushmore of thrash drummers, he's the OG Legend!
Gene Hogan is on there with him.
@@DrSkeff *Hoglan
@@SeeJayPlayGames was going to come back and edit it but you beat me to it. Correct. Seen him with several bands and there is a reason they call him “the atomic clock”.
I'd say he's on the Mount Rushmore of drummers period from any genre.
King of fills tbh.
In 2019 my daughter saw the banner announcing The Final Campaign show by Slayer and she gave me no choice but to take her there. It was her first concert ever, she was delighted and she became quite a metalhead henceforth. The most funny thing is that she was 8 years old back then. She made me a proud father:-)
wow. u did everyrthing right man :D
My daughter is 2 and I am trying so hard to get her into metal! She's still obsessed with baby shark though ...
You made every metal head proud. Remember that!
@@mattkandel2449 she’ll get there one song at a time brother, one song at a time \m/
Insane!
WAR ENSEMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!🤘🏽🔥
Slayer live is definitely a spiritual experience. It’s like going into the pits of hell and being tossed around in a hurricane of people. It was definitely an experience to be had. I’m glad I got to experience the chaos that is Slayer.🤘🏽🔥
Seasons in the Abyss is my favorite Slayer album!!!
Yes please! At the risk of dating myself, I saw them live with testament on that tour. Amazing!!
Saw Slayer in 2003. They played the Reign in Blood album
You hadnt lived until you saw them or GWAR live
@@JohnHill-bn5kn they stopped 😭
That riff...That legendary riff... when the drums kick in you understand why headbanging is a thing
This was produced by Rick Rubin. He always seems to bring out the best in the artists he works with, This album is a masterpiece imo.
In my opinion, he's like ANOTHER audio engineer wizard, MARTIN BIRCH!
Absolutely a masterpiece
@@AngelofAnguish Spot on!
That's no opinion. It's a factual conclusion.
This album too? 🤣 Godfather!
That scream is iconic, as Tom managed it first try when recording & has never been able to replicate it since… Slayer live is the loudest band I’ve seen.. Now retired but they will remain legends of thrash… 🤘
The song "South of Heaven" has a great drum arrangement, even if it isn't Slayer at their most chaotic.
Absolutely. The guitar tone is also fucking amazing. The riff at the forgotten children confront a new faith part sounds so sinister and makes me think of how a guitar in hell would sound.
U r not a real slayer fun if u talk about slayer drum songs
My favorite Slayer song really. And yes, it is all about the drum groove, just amazing.
fucking amazing album
@@lombardo7790 wtf?
I'm 51 saw Slayer here in Cincinnati when that album came out and to this day the best show I've ever seen
I'm 53 & saw them in london on Hell Awaits & Reign tours - utterly banana's!
When someone writes a book or makes a movie about something evil, they rarely get accused of being Satanic, but for some reason, when the same subject matters are put to music, there are those who lose their minds, accusing them of being Satanic, cultists, or glorifying terrible things.
The Big 4 thing pretty much just meant the 4 who were selling the most records and concert tickets between 1984-89.
I hope you will check out the band Testament soon! "Disciples of the Watch" is a great classic era Testament to hear.
Angel of Death has been the closer for every single Slayer concert I've ever experienced live. Dave Lombardo can slay it for a full set and then hit this song at the end like he was just getting started for the night. Amazing!
5:52 this is one of the greatest riffs of all time imo and yet it always gets overshadowed by the riff right before it
If you love drums you should check out some Sepultura. Igor Cavalera is a beast.
Desperate Cry is my fav.
Yeah dude! Igor is a legend! Even if you don't like new Sepultura, Eloy Casagrandre is an absolute monster as well. Curious to see what he does in the future.
Ozzy. Seputura and Type O Negative was my first metal concert! LOVE Seputura!!
Eloy Casagrande is a demon
Second this request. Sepultura are just so absolutely influential with everything from the heaviest side of thrash, to death metal, to nu metal even. Any song of Arise played off of their Under siege concert recording with Max hopping around the stage like Bugs Bunny on a red bull overdose should be enough to see what the band's about in terms of sheer energy.
I'd recommend "Dead Skin Mask," "War Ensemble," and "South of Heaven."
Disciple by Slayer great song.
Slayer
Yeah a thrash metal masterpiece. May you also react to South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss.
Both really good picks, the drums on both tracks gives me the chills everytime. In my first band i asked my drummer if he could play "seasons in the abyss" with me, he heared the song one time, looked at me and asked "are you insane?!". Also "Bloodlines" is really a nice track, the First riff is so damn good.
The songs or entire albums, cause both those albums are awesome cover to cover?
I saw Slayer with Lamb of God, Anthrax and Obituary on their farewell tour in 2018. It was insane! Glad to see you reacting to them
If you love drums and drumming then you’re listening to the right guy 🤟🏼🤟🏼
You have the perfect amount of "evil" in you to truly enjoy this! Rock on!
I consider myself honored to have seen Slayer live in Chicago. Truly bucket list experience. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
There's a mindblowing drumcam video about Dave Lombardo playing this song live. His fills are insane. He influenced soooo many succesful drummers. Ironically he is very well respected by everyone but his former band, Slayer(money drama).
This ☝️
Hi Aileen, I'm a 53 year old metal head from Melbourne Australia. I feel blessed to have been a metal fan from the mid 80s onward. I didn't see Slayer until their later years, but they are truly Kings of metal. I met Kerry King at a meet and greet in Melbourne (off the top of my head I can't remember what year)
You are so right when you say people have no idea what the band members are really like. They are too quick to judge a book by its cover.
Love your reaction shows.
Metal Church is a band you might like from the 80s.
Woukd love to see more Orbit Culture. Like 'Behold' or North Star of Nija.
Cheers from Downunder
🤘😎🤘
Oh how I love the younger generations appreciating the things that we loved as they came out.
Thank you very much! Please enjoy this as much as we did.
The artwork drew me in. I bought this cassette tape back in 1986.
Growing up in Southern California during the 80's, I was fortunate enough see Slayer when they were just kids starting out all the way to their final campaign in 2019. One of the heaviest most aggressive bands that I have ever seen live. Truly one of the best ever. I just recently stumbled across your channel, liked and subbed... I hope to watch more Slayer reactions. May I suggest 'Seasons in the Abyss' 'Dead Skin Mask' 'South of Heaven' 'Mandatory Suicide'
I grew up in San Bernardino. I got show no mercy in 1983 in a San Bernardino record store just based on the cover.by the time reign wz about to come out, thre wz already a buzz around school BEFORE it even came out.the day it wz released, a radio station played the first song off of reign. at midnight sharp they play raining blood. I swear to god, between crystal meth& reign in blood my entire school just went ape shit my entire senior year.way more so than master of puppets.
A Girl that is this deeply appreciative of slayer definitely deserves A sub and a like 🤘
You are freaking awesome. You can tell the genuine love. Keep it up!!!!!
Do you know how many times I've listened to this song and other Slayer songs in the four decades I've listened to Metal? I do love your reactions. You're open-minded about music.
Great reaction to thE best thrash metal band ever. Lombardo on drums.... Say no more. Love how you appreciate the orchestrated metal chaos... 👍🏻
This is a type of song if you’re feeling down, you’re instantly pumped up and feel better!
I swear, you sound exactly like a flight attendant, but in the best way. It's kind of relaxing.
Dave Lombardo was a frigging beast on drums the goat of thrash metal
This whole album is only 29 minutes long. You should do a video listening to the whole album.
This song and dead skin mask are my top 5 favorites
Definitely, "Dead Skin Mask" is probably my favorite Slayer song.
Dead Skin Mask is the most overrated Slayer song and bar none. It's not even in their top 40-50 songs.
@@FuckRUclipsAndGoogle , may not be your but I happen to like it .. it's not my #1 but we all enjoy different
I have a scar on the back of my hand from a slayer concert in Portland Oregon in March 1987. It was a swirling torrent of pain, and it was awesome!
I love how much you FEEL the songs! Totally genuine. Puts a smile on my old, weathered face.
The first time I seen Slayer.
I thought I stepped into the pits of He'll.
I Love Slayer.
This song is a History lesson..
The breakdown is one of the greatest in metal history .......grateful that i was a teen when the Thrash scene started ......i tried and almost succeeded in seeing just about every thrash band that was out there during the 80s .
Saw these guys a few times and i SURVIVED the infamous seat cushion show at The Ritz in NYC in 86 . Very violent night . Lol
OMG. I came across your channel right yesterday and I thought about this song. You read my mind. Thanks for this :-) Cheers from Italy
Attagirl❤- I saw Slayer/Megadeth twice , 1st time was Cali around 1990 in a Tiny Theater where we tore out the seats and created an Epic Mosh Pit! This huge Cholo with FRESNO tatted on his neck He passed me a joint after randomly punching a white boy next to me and reassuring me that I was Cool😅 Pure Metal!
I've seen Slayer live 50+ times, first time in 1988. I purchased Reign in Blood in early 1987, this album changed my life. It was the fastest music I ever heard at that point. I was a fan for live after that.
Wow. *bows* I must say that shit u said that you saw what you saw is a dream that should have been me in your shoes but I would not fit with your feet in em bro. Amazing amount of shows.
Yup I was there too when it first appeared on CD we threw it across the room and bounced it off the wall then picked it up and inserted it and then The Metal Ensued. Good times back then kicking it with my old friends and being mid teens who were young and dumb and....nm. Let's just say living life for the moment and not giving any fuks about much besides heavy metal music and frizzy haired babes. Ahh the good ole days.
You should definitely check out something from their Hell Awaits and Show No Mercy albums. Crypts Of Eternity from the Hell Awaits album is a masterpiece...and you can still hear Tom's bass.
I second this crypts of eternity is one of my all time favorite songs from them! Hell awaits is such an underrated album!
I 3rd this
Their first three albums are their best without debate. But Hell Awaits is their most solid and atmospheric.
I fourth this! Hell Awaits is easily my favorite album by them and every song absolutely rips
At Dawn they Sleep...the best song on Hell Awaits
That little chuckle when the solo came in along with the nervous laughter when you knew where it was headed was just great. Chaotic is indeed the best word to describe it! Your reaction to the transition from the the guitar into the drum break also makes me smile. I'm glad you appreciate this kind of metal!
As an oldster, I was only 15 in 1986 but by god it was a golden time for thrash metal being released: Metallica "Master of Puppets" (although I still have a soft spot for "Kill 'em all") , Megadeth's "Peace sells..." although again, just a year before they'd released "Killing is my Business..." , and the magisterial "Reign in Blood" by Slayer - followed up by "South of Heaven" a few years later.
Anyway, this and a lot more all blew my tiny little mind.
It warms my heart that your enjoying so much that was an integral part of my own musical journey!
Yes! You did it!
Next up, Chemical Warfare! Not the live version but the OST. Absolute monstrosity of a song.
Nothing to see where the sleeping souls lie !
My favorite
@@geengeklooi The first time I heard it I was recovering from hypothermia in North Dakota and the song struck me hard ever since because of it's frantic rythym and tone change after the solos. Completely unrelated to the lyrics, I still relive the complete fear, panic and desperation of freezing to death. Any living organism that freezes in the region mummifies into the permafrost. It's terrifying.
OST? What is that???
@@surf101- OST = Original SoundTrack... I think he means generaly original recording instead of live version.
Senpai: "Jesus Christ"!
Slayer: "He's away on business. Don't worry, we gotchu".
LMAOO
That final part is HORRIFICALY underrated. That "monarch to the kingdom of the dead" and Dave gives that fill that leads to this immense intensity of an ending
That part is freaking amazing. All the instruments and vocals combined together right there is one of the absolute pinnacle moments of thrash metal.
I... am... in... love... your analysis of lyrical styles is just phenomenal & your placement in the different musical styles is God damn terrific!
Your reactions are always my favorite. Especially loved the talk you did after the song ended. Keep it up
Thank you so much!!
Of course!!
Holy shit, you get Slayer. My knees are week. I try to always describe their lyrical content as relatable narrative or social commentary and not anthems praising the subject matter.
You should listen to the South of Heaven album, or any of it. I've seen them live only 3 times going back to like 87.
you got an incredible presence. the voice, how u talk, ur voice, what u say. how u feel the music. this is a hard song and a good one. for me, the best slayer song. i think the solos represent the madness of what the lyric talks about
Jeff Hanneman's(Slayer guitarist) father was a WW2 veteran. Jeff was inspired by his father. Hence writing about the Holocaust. Slayer!!!!
Slayer forever!!!
If you want drums, seasons in the abyss is THE drum song from them. The fills are nonstop and sick af!
Saw Slayer live at the Bell Center in Montreal with Marilyn Manson years ago. Original lineup. Was amazing.
It is really refreshing to see how you enjoy Slayer and specially this emblematic song! "War Ensemble" should be the next track you should listen! Cheers from Guatemala!
Her laugh at the end! EPIC ! She gets it!!!
Great reaction. This is the first Slayer song I ever heard and I was hooked instantly. Slayer has always unapologetically done what they wanted to and how they wanted to do it. Don't like it then don't listen to it was their motto. 3 common song topics are war, serial killers and Hell/Satan/Anti Christianity.
I saw them live 4 times. In 1988, 1991, 2015 and 2018. The first time was August 31 1988 at the Felt Forum in NYC.
Yeah, The "Seat Cushion Riot" show.
This concert is known to alot of Slayer fans because it was bootlegged. Recorded on a camcorder.. The entire concert is on RUclips now. Search "Slayer NY 1988". You can watch the whole show or individual songs.
It shows the utter chaos of a Slayer show and you'll see Tom trying to reason with a totally out of control audience before Angel Of Death. It was the last song they played. The show got cut short because the venue was getting destroyed. Seat cushions were flying everywhere. Venues getting destroyed was very common especially small venues in the 80s.
Yes I've seen them live at least 4 times one of which included all the original members and each experience was insane. Loved it, wish I could see more of them now.
Wow! Your commentary at the end was perfectly delivered!
I remember listening to Reign in Blood… and back then we were all like WTF is this insanity… but it was glourious. Especially how the album broke the norm of basically all metal albums had to have lots of reverb. This is one the main factors is was such a punch in face first time you heard it.
You really should check out Epidemic from Reign in Blood. It’s one of the “slower” songs on the album… but it has such as sinister feel. And Hardening of the Arteries from Hell Awaits… a real facepuncher song 😜
And if you really wanna hear Dave Lombardo bring his A-game on drums… then song Seasons in the Abyss is the way to go.
Lovely reaction....so, if you wanna discover the "softer" side of Slayer (and because you love drums), I highly recommend "Seasons in the abyss" or "Spill the blood"....give em a go!
I love your reaction and analysis. This was pretty close to how I felt back in high school when I first got into them. I was blessed to grew up when these albums were still new and just looking forward to each album as it came out.
I saw slayer multiple times including their last tour, always a great show high energy loud and crazy…
Slayer's solos WILL FRY YOUR BRAIN!!!!
If you like slayer definitely should check out Testament. They honestly should’ve been part of the big 4 very underrated but well loved by the metal community
Big four is the biggest four bands whom started this style at the same time. Also they knew each other and had tours together. Testament is way better but they started later in the scene so they are not the "original" at that scene. Also Dave Mustaine played in Metallica first and Kerry King played in Megadeth at the begining so there are very thight connections on those four bands. Also producer Jon Zazula involves at least with Metallica and Anthrax. Without him there wouldn´t be such a big connection with Anthrax. All other three bands were from bay area thrashers from west cost and Anthrax is from east coast New York.
But yes, Testament is way underrated band generaly. They still make kick ass albums.
And to add, I just attended “the Bay Area strikes back” concert at the Wiltern theater in Los Angeles with Death Angel, Exodus with Gary Holt and Testament featuring Dave Lombardo on drums… it was Metal Heaven
I love how despite the speed, you can still hear every detail and every syllable he sings! It's so great!
Welcome.
Blessed are those who love Slayer.
Great channel 🤘
Always fun to watch you really dive in to the music. I recomend anything from The Gathering by Testament, a classic trash album with Dave behind the kit.
I was lucky enough to see Slayer many, many times. I could say a lot about those experiences, but the feeling that best sums it up is this: Right before a Slayer show started, I always felt pretty nervous. Even though I'd seen them before, even though I'd been to a ton of other metal shows, I got just a little bit anxious. I have a generalized anxiety disorder, and the feeling I had right before a Slayer show was very similar to what happens before I have a panic attack. That sounds like a bad thing, right? And I mean, yeah. It was kind of scary. But once they started playing, and the decibel level was through the roof and the bass was vibrating my rib cage, a huge wave of relief and - believe it or not - a massive sense of community with all of the other people there, washed over me. I've had similar feelings at other metal shows, but it was always most intense with Slayer.
I also owe them a huge debt because, being the most extreme of the "Big Four" of thrash metal, they both played huge North American tours on a regular basis (so I'd have an opportunity to see them once, sometimes even twice a year), and they also brought extreme metal bands like Behemoth, etc., on tour with them - giving me a chance to see some pretty gnarly (in a good way) bands that might not have toured my city very often otherwise.
That double bass after the guitar solos till the end of the song just kicks your ass LIVE!
I love the fact that you made research about the meaning behind the lyrics and you nailed it i did a oral presentation in high school about that song and the meaning and got a standing ovation because its life changing bands like these who are amazing ambassadors of truth meaningful music.
NICE! Finally you're fully initiated in Slayer. The most awesome thrash-metal song for all times. )
What can I advise? - all songs of this band are shredding. If you want to see them live - check out Raining Blood from Still Reigning (2004) for example. If you want to check out their music videos - check out their tryptich of videos with unite screenplay: Repentless, You Against You, Pride And Prejudice (if you'll do this - you'll be the FIRST youtuber who reacted for all three of them).
👆🤘👆
Imagine if you did a drum cover of this 🤘🏼🔥
Well not one can say you skipped leg day after it.
I have seen Slayer live at least ten times and they were incredible every time. One show in Dallas, TX I remember before they started playing the lights were on in the amphitheater and you could feel fear in the air and a creepy feeling but then the lights go off and Slayer started rocking hard, loud and intense amazing music. One tour Slayer played the entire Reign in Blood album in order and I was in ecstasy, I was friends with Dimebag and Vinnie Paul from Pantera and they were sitting near me my buddy Alapeno enjoying the mighty Slayer put on one of the greatest shows I have ever attended. Great memories!!
Loved your commentary after the song. I’m 47 and have listened to metal since I was a little kid. I would say this is arguably the best metal song of all time. I’ve seen Slayer 3 times in concert and no one is more intense.
Another great slayer song. May i suggest bloodline and disciple
Hey!
I just saw your KoRn video (I know, a bit late) and I wanted to recommend some more KoRn songs, IF there will be more reactions to KoRn, I personally would appreciate one of the following songs:
Twisted Transistor (It's a fun song)
Daddy (this one is REALLY heavy, not from a music viewpoint, but because of the TOPIC, it's really sensitive)
Black is the soul (a "newer" (2016) song of KoRn but I think it is a good repesentation as to how they evolved)
Yeah, Korn really deserve to be part of this format, they've planty of great songs. Clown, Right now, Did my time, Here to stay.... all of those have something that punch trough my guts every time. Great choises in your comment
Thanks for understanding SLAYER. my grandparents went through the topic... Love your respect....
This is one of my favourite albums of all time. This, for me, is the definitive thrash album. The whole album is like a big metal punch in the face!!
In their time, Slayer was outsider music. Teens were institutionalized and medicated for listening to such. I loved their music because it is original and raw. Their talents are legendary. The guitar riffs and drummers speed is perfect and unparalleled. The fact that they can seamlessly blend all these chaotic forces makes their skill all the greater. They have empathy for the suffering of humanity.
Some other killer bands to check out, morbid angle some standout songs, "chaple of ghouls, god of emptiness, immortal rights"....another band decide some great tracks like dead by Dawn, sacrificial suicide, dead but dreaming, a great tune by a British band carcass is heartwork, oh and for mega heavy groove driven music a band "bolt thrower" for victory is an amazing album
Morbid Angel is putting her in the deep end while being a toddler, she needs to progress a bit for that level, haha..
Morbid Angel, Suffocation and Malevolent Creation.
@@stangcobra592 man i was listening to the morbid at like 13/14 and been a life long fan glad there slowly getting back together and Vincent's voice has held up
I absolutely love your channel! New to it and it slayer reactions remind me of me when I was 17 years old and getting my mind blown as a guitar player and as a person lol
I've seen Slayer twice! So glad you appreciate the OG metal gods! ⛓️🔥🤘🏼🔥⛓️
I'd say their music is about 'the problem of evil' in philosophy, generally. Fundamentally pessimistic and about the darkside, so a lot of songs about serial killers, atrocity, hell, societal corruption. Without any holding back; I don't think they ever did anything merely for shock though.
Jeff said he was thinking about Nazis as a kid because of collections his father had from the war. It's not something easily digested so he makes a song about it; I think their* record label dropped them over this.
He did not care. R.I.P. Jeff.
Frankly the lyrics in Psychopathy Red are even more outrageous.
*edit, typo
Saw them 14 times, favorite band since Seasons in the abyss came out.
wow im speechless !!! i just found your chanel!! its always fun to see the younger génération raise the flag for metal . after watching this one i watch your reaction for the pantera, megadeth, iron maiden, jinjer video and its awesome to hear you speak about it , you totaly get it, the choice of word the facial expresion ect its super cool !!! about slayer you have to put thing in perspective that album came out in 86 right in full satanic panic.when band like venom and mercyfull fate before slayer where freaking people out big time( micheal jackson song we are the world came out the year before and was a big hit ......)angel of deatn is still super heavy today but imagine when it came out....i remember exactly where i was when i heard the album for the first time. even if i had the 2 records before this one it was brutal... i saw them first in 85 hell awaits tour cycle back home in montreal and never miss a tour after that........i fellt in love with that music in 1980 and im a proud lifer,!!!!! so keep the good work spread the word and keep it metal !!!!!!
Great reaction ! Thank you for researching and having an informed opinion ! New subscriber here ! Well done !
I absolutely love seeing someone getting this...you rock...\,,/.
You said if we ever saw them live, what was our experience. I saw them live in 2015 and that was like the scariest shit I ever saw. I mean that shit was wild. I had a balcony seat, and looking down at the floor general admission floor was just madness. Once Slayer hit the stage I was seeing bodies getting tossed left and right. I’m not even exaggerating, it was like bodies were going into the air above head level and landing in different places than they were thrown. I mean obviously they were being launched into the air or something like that, but they would go up and land somewhere a few feet away. Like if you could imagine people briefly crowd surfing, that’s kinda what it was like. People were getting passed around and the security guards would grab any of them in their reach and pull them out. Not like they were in trouble and being kicked out, but more like they were pulling the people into safety. And as soon as the people would be successfully pulled out, they would run back around and just jump right back into it. And the mosh pit got so damn huge it consumed like 1/3 of the whole crowd I would say. It was intense, but was one of the funnest concerts I’ve been to. The most memorable moment for me was when they performed the song South of Heaven (a good one to react to by the way, it’s another one of their top songs). The opening riff is just kinda slow and thick and hellish sounding. And I remember standing there in the dark and were all hot and sweaty and filled with energy, and the way that riff rang out through the hot, sweaty darkness was just electric. The atmosphere was so thick, I can’t even really describe it. It was awesome.
Dave was fantastic in Slayer, a legend. We used to blast this on my best friends crazy stereo back in the day...it was so loud in the bottom of the split level bungalow that the neighbours started to complain that they could here it clearly in their house.
Guess it pissed them off...MUHAHAhahahahah!
So you like aggressive drums and chaotic sound?
I got something for you then...
Here is another legend in metal drumming...he goes by the stage name of Frost. They say he sounds like a machinegun...and this is probably a great example of it. There are so many little nuanced things he's doing in this at high speed that it's almost lost on most on the first listen.
This is him in a side project 1349. He's been with them for years. Apparently the band used to share the same rehearsal building as his main project...the legendary "Satyricon". He heard them playing and asked if he could join. The singer was drumming at the time so it freed him up to concentrate on being the front man.

Awesome reaction, one of the greatest riffs in metal EVER.
Got into slayer in 1988 seen them live for the first time in 91 then seen them about 20xs. So glad your listening. I can give a great, great story but only if u want to hear it.
They were f’ing awesome seeing them live in concert!
I saw Slayer, with Hatebreed back in 2002. It was a crazy show. It was a smaller venue and it was totally nuts in there.
I appreciate that you dug a little deeper and found out what this song is about, smart girl!
I appear to be back tracking through your reactions to Slayer. They are the music of my youth. I am gaining knowledge through your eyes I lacked in my youth. Enjoy your journey.
That screem he did at the beginning is so iconic!
Also, one of the many things I love about Slayer is that they never went soft.
They stayed hard as fuck.
Seen Slayet live at least a dozen times, with every member variation, and I was even lucky enough to be in the pit for the Big 4 show in NYC as well as 2 dates on their final tour. They always put on a great show and never disappoint.
