This album, along with "Master Of Puppets", "Peace Sells . . . But Who's Buying" and "Among The Living" all came out in 1986 when I was 18 - what a great time to be alive !

lol!!!!!.....exactly!!!......"lighter" as in instead of the absolute jackhammer barrage you get on Reign in Blood it drops down to only a sledgehammer effect on South of Heaven and Season in the Abyss......lol
From this album "Angel of Death" & "Postmortem" from South of Heaven: the title track, "Ghosts of War" & "Mandatory Suicide" Seasons in the Abyss "War Ensemble" & the title track.
LFG. Been waiting to see you react to some Slayer. Here's just a few other big Slayer hits to check out. Angel of Death, South of Heaven, War Ensemble and Seasons In The Abyss. Also RIP Jeff Hanneman.
Yes!!! You can only imagine how amazing it was to hear these sounds at 16 yrs in 1986. There was a lot of extreme Metal music forming during these years, but this album was the most intense sound we had ever heard and it pushed everything in extreme Metal to a whole new level. Everything in extreme Metal genres we are listening to now has been influenced by this record and it never gets old.
Among the Big 4 of Thrash Metal, Slayer is the most "extreme" in terms of speed and brutality. The opposite end of the Big 4 spectrum is Anthrax, who is more melodic, especially in the vocals. They started out doing traditional thrash but branched out pretty quickly. A couple of songs from their early thrash era: "A.I.R." and "I Am the Law".
Oooooh yes SLAYER!!!!!!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽 got to see this band retire before my eyes these guys are true monsters of Thrash metal. There’s a reason why they are part of the Big Four

This album changed the thrash scene, all other bands knew they had to step up their game! It is 27 minutes of hellish thrash that is unrelenting from the first bar of Angel Of Death. Necrophobic is 128bpm, one of the fastest they have ever written. Regarded as one of the best thrash albums ever.

It's basically a song of pure chaos. It starts with eerie vibe then fucking badass riff and from then on it goes completely insane. Such a great track.
You can start at the first song on reign in blood. It’s a masterpiece front to back. You also can go back a few albums and do, hell awaits, black magic, die by the sword, or newer stuff like south of heaven, or war ensemble
hell yeah! dave's drumming on south of heaven is some of my favorite. silent scream with the double kicks, and his fills on live undead, and on and on and on . . .
The drums on south of heaven album are so good. Bass drum tone is perfect and hits perfectly with a sub. Ghost of war has the that crazy drum fill towards the end. Seriously bad ass. " I deal in pain, all life I drain, I dominate, I seal your fate !"
I love Ghost of War as a total package, but I think the drums *really* shine on Live Undead. Just my personal taste, though. I feel like it gets overlooked quite a bit.

Slayer's Crionics is where it's at. The track was so heavy. So far ahead of its time. This song to me built what thrash and old school death has in its blood.
You need to listen to the whole album. I feel like after half an hour of speed thrash madness raining blood as the final track is even more effective... And after you listened to the glorious reign in blood listen to the albums show no mercy, hell awaits, south of heaven and seasons in the abyss... Ah slayer... Good times....
I would honestly recommend you listen to the whole "reign in blood" album in one go. It is not that long too because all songs are pretty short. But your mind will be totally blown after it and you really will ask yourself what you heard just now. It is a violent thrash metal masterpiece. Probably the best thrash metal album of all time.
I'll never forget when I saw the "Reinventing the Steel" tour... Pantera with Slayer. It was an experience. That concert was so intense. It was like an ocean of people that you couldn't control. Your body was not your own that night lol!
Great reaction and comments as always. For anyone (including Ms. Aileen) who is interested, Tori Amos does an amazing cover of this song with a very different (but somehow fitting) vibe. Definitely worth checking out.
I only know this song because of Guitar Hero...3...if I remember correctly. I do remember it being so infamously hard at the time, compared to what Guitar Hero had done before. There were RUclips videos of people failing that intro section within seconds 😄. I was never good at the game, so when I managed to just hit the fast strums at the beginning consistently it felt like an accomplishment. Then it transitions to the even faster part and I was done.
I absolutely love slayer, first album I heard was reign in blood and was literally blown away, my favorites are reign in blood, hell awaits, haunting the chapel, south of heaven, seasons in the abyss! They are absolutely powerful, I finally got to see them live in Seattle at quest field and it was a literal war zone and they sounded phenomenal.
The first time I saw Slayer in concert was 2007 in Norfolk Virginia at the Norva. While still standing in line to get into the building, we were third in line and had been waiting for about two hours in the snow, Slayer's tour bus pulled up outside. I don't really remember why now because it's been 15 years, but the band was trying to get back into their bus but the door wouldn't open. Tom Araya and Dave Lombardo were trying their best to kick the door open. It was hilarious. Absolutely love Slayer, and Tom Araya is such an awesome person!
Great reaction. Slayer is good. If you ever want to react to something very slow and HEAVY, react to CROWBAR. The songs are Planets Collide and Lasting Dose. That would be pretty awesome to see you react to one of those. Thanks. 🤘🏻
Welcome to the family. Slayer has been my favorite band since the first time I heard this song back in the 80s. I was 15 and this was my favorite album
Great reaction. Slayer has an endless list of great songs. I would recommend Angel Of Death as your next reaction. The album Reign In Blood was released on October 7 1986 and was my introduction to Slayer. 29 minutes of pure ferocity. Angel Of Death is the first song on the album and Raining Blood is the last song. The original lineup of Slayer is Tom Araya on Bass and Vocals. Guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. Dave Lomardo on drums.
10 years old when I heard Reign in blood for the first time, in 1986. A whole world opened up, and after Stewart Copeland, Dave Lombardo became my favourite drummer. Check out 'Jihad', so damn brutal.
Amazing reaction my friend Aileen!!...I love your reactions to Dimash, the best male singer of the world (In my personal opinion)...Now I want to invite you to meet, who is considered one of the Best Female Singers of the World (The best in my personal opinion)...The passion and dedication when Dimash is performing a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable, the Goddess: Lara Fabian.....Lara is the best female singer and performer of the world...She is a lyric soprano with a amazing vocal range and incredible breath control...She speaks and composes in 5 languages and sings in more than 15 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see covers of her songs on RUclips made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Polina Gagarina, Forestella, Sissel Kyrkjebo, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Giulia Falcone, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Rimar, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara...Here you have the link of her amazing performance of the son>g “Je Suis Malade”....ruclips.net/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/видео.html
Saw them on their retirement tour in San Antonio, TX. When they played this, I wanted to see all the pits start to swirl to this more than actually watching them play it. I watched them play it while I recorded the mosh pits on my phone. Multitasking.
A pair of tunes with an absolute change in tempo but still holding that aggressive edge are "Seasons in the Abyss" and "South of Heaven" title tracks of their respective albums.
Love it!! As a teenager in 1986 listening to this album with giant headphones, this song kinda made me say the same thing...'Holy Shit'. Do yourself a favor and get an old cassette tape where the songs bleed together like they are supposed to and listen to the whole album. 29 minutes of holy shit. 29 minutes well spent. Great reaction BTW. Slayer, you either get it or you don't. I feel sorry for those that don't.
My favorite "version" is actually a live performance where they transition from Raining Blood over into Black Magic. You can find it here on RUclips as "Slayer-Raining Blood/Black Magic"
I remember going to see these guys live about 27 years ago at Festival Hall in Brisbane , Australia…So loud you couldn’t even hear yourself yell. It was a sick show ..
Ah I grew up with this album. I bought it on vinyl when I was 12. Recently I bought the CD and still playing it almost every week. Raining blood brings out so much emotion from my inner warrior and it's perfect for training, every beat is a punch.
Saw Slayer in their final tour in an Amphitheater. As it came to Raining Blood the sky opened up and it poured rain hard as hell on us, was fucking epic. Remember hearing this album when it came out and yes it was mind warping.
They were awesome live seen them 3 times and was at last ever UK performance, they just pounded us with all the classics them woosh it was over , absolutely gutted it was over. Awesome reaction look forward to the next one . "Sssllllaaayyyeeerrr"
The way your heartbeat calmed as shit got heavy........You are one of us. Welcome to METAL!! You are one of us now. No race, sex, colour. We look after our own.
Saw them in So Cal OZ Fest, mosh pits were insane, literally 5 different 20 ft tall x 30 ft wide bonfires each one had there own mosh pits dancing around the fires like a 100 pack of pitbulls ripping at each other. best fucking concert ever!!!!
don't worry about kicking yourself for not hearing them before, their music kicks you hard enough! as for the rest of the people that listen to Slayer we can only say "Welcome!"
I first went to watch Slayer live in the late 80s, and what blew me away was how close to the studio edits they sounded. Lyrics you can actually hear despite the speed of the tracks and not a note or word dropped. They are the only thash band that I can actually listen to every single track without any urge to skip to the next.
The 'Reign In Blood' album was my intro into Slayer. A friend asked me to take him to the record store, I think this was back in 1989 or '90, so he could get that album. Listened to it on the way back and been hooked since.
That song is the last one from their album Reign in Blood, the album has 10 songs in total, and has a run time of just under 30 minutes. The whole album is a tour de force for your ears, it is fast and aggressive, and you WILL be exhausted by the end, and I fucking love it.
The song on the album that transitions into this is also amazing I always play them as one song since it’s so flawless of a transition. Also I’m sure people have said it but famous producer Rick Ruben who probably produced your favorite rap albums produced this album
Hell yeah. Their best stuff (imo) is on their first 4 albums; Show No Mercy, Hell Awaits, (Haunting the Chapel~4 song ep), Reign in Blood. After that their stuff is still good, it's just different. Like AC/DC, they don't make a bad song, they make good songs, and great songs. The first time i saw them was on their Hell Awaits tour, in a tiny venue, basically a bar, called Liberty Lunch. I was standing directly in front of the stage left, the whole time, less than 10' from Jeff Hanneman. I like how Jeff and Kerry's leads are just mayhem, it fits perfect with the music. And of course Dave Lombardo's drums are killer, Tom's voice fits perfectly into it all. It's amazing how diverse their first album is compared to their later stuff.
I went to Ozzfest meets KnotFest before Covid and Slayer came out right before Slipknot closed and it was by far the funnest and most intense concert experience of my life. The mosh pit was crazy.
Angel of death, Silent Scream, Seasons in the Abyss, Exile, New Faith, Repentless, Black Magic, Disciple, Bloodline, Jihad. In no particular order. Very glad you enjoyed Slayer, they reign supreme. \m/
I remember watching VH1 on tv- they interviewed Scott Ian from Anthrax. When he heard that creepy eeriest intro to Raining Blood for the first time he said “that is what it sounds like when your on your way to hell”…… 😳🤘
Hell awaits,At dawn they sleep,Kill again,Show no mercy,Die by the sword....These are just a few to choose from. To this day i remember when i heard Hell awaits for the first..it blew me away
the best thing about this kind of music, and what non-metalheads don't get, is that listening to it for a few songs releases any angst or negativity you may have built up during a regular day. you might want to punch a wall before listening but a few songs later and you'll be awash with the urge to bang your head in time whilst riffing on your air guitar... very theraputic 😎🤘☘ Respect & Peace ☘

This whole album is just chaos like this for 45 minutes. They played this song on the Tonight Show just a couple years ago which is insane.
Very happy to have seen slayer live at the big four, sweden 2011
Saw them on their retirement tour in San Antonio, TX. When they played this, I wanted to see all the pits start to swirl to this more than actually watching them play it. I watched them play it while I recorded the mosh pits on my phone. Multitasking.
you are the first music channel i have seen that has a bpm counter love it
A pair of tunes with an absolute change in tempo but still holding that aggressive edge are "Seasons in the Abyss" and "South of Heaven" title tracks of their respective albums.
Saw these gentlemen in Chicago. Got my ass thoroughly pummeled. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I was lucky to see them on their final tour, DEFINITELY one of my FAVORITE bands of all time
Hey, I can tell you are proper digging that. Respect to you and go girl.
You have awesome taste xxx
The entire album is this intense from start to finish.
Is so awesome that you have this many amazing songs to react to, I still remember the first time I listen to this song it blow my mind
Let's just F***ing Go ! 🤟
Great reaction, love your facial expressions.
FYI; O'Keefe Music Foundation plays an incredible cover of this.
Welcome home.🤘🤘
When it comes to Slayer, just dive into the brilliance. You won't look back. 🤟🤟
“Crooked cross” you’re welcome.. great stuff I’m a fan of your reactions and your personality.. great stuff!
it's like a punch in the nose. the perfect length. that whole record is a 30 minute assault. put your headphones on and enjoy from start to finish.
Still, after all these years, one of the most badass songs ever.
The first time i saw them was on their
Hell Awaits tour, in a tiny venue, basically a bar, called Liberty Lunch.
Very compliment!!!!studio version and no live version!!!!!!!❤️🤘❤️🤘❤️🤘
I went to Ozzfest meets KnotFest before Covid and Slayer came out right before Slipknot closed and it was by far the funnest and most intense concert experience of my life. The mosh pit was crazy.
Not yelling at you for not already knowing… I’m just happy you e finally arrived. Welcome to the Slayer fam
Oooooooo yeaaaaaa
The thrash legends themselves...
Letttsssss gooooooooo 🎤🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🖤♥️🧡
Just hit that subscribe and bell because of your reaction. Haha. Hails lady! 🤘🏾🤘🏾
To this day i remember when i heard Hell awaits for the first..it blew me away
the best thing about this kind of music, and what non-metalheads don't get, is that listening to it for a few songs releases any angst or negativity you may have built up during a regular day. you might want to punch a wall before listening but a few songs later and you'll be awash with the urge to bang your head in time whilst riffing on your air guitar... very theraputic 😎🤘☘
Respect & Peace ☘
