I think you should really read the lyrics of this song. It's about Auschwitz and the killing of the Jews by Mengele and the cruel killings of this "dokter" if you read the text i am sure you will be very surprised. It was very controversial and probably still is. He sings about the killings there like a story. A lot of people were offended and Slayer was even baned in some countries.
as a teen i fell asleep to Slayer and woke up by them playing in my old school stereo with sleep timer and alarm clock built into it 45 now so a looong time ago
@Snakeoilresin Best solo dualists in metal you utter goof!! The atonal shrieking is meant to sound like that, as he stated in a Metal Hammer interview in March 1988. Souls screaming in hell is the sound he wanted. There are however quite a few melodic solos such as on Seasons...
The album reign in blood came out in 86. Back then Metallica's Master of Puppet was regarded as very heavy. Angel of death is the first song of the album. I always imagine how it must have been for people back then, wen usually they listened to Metallica or Iron Maiden and then they did put on this record. The album has 10 songs in 29 minutes 🙂
When this album came out in 86 it completely flipped the script for what music can be for me. Rick Rubin had a whacky year, and funnily enough all 3 of the albums he produced in 86 were staples on my boombox, from Run DMC, to the Beastie Boys, to (fucking!) Slayer
I am from "back then". Reign in Blood was ( and still is )soooo intense. To me personally, it blew Master of Puppets away. But thats a matter of opnion. A 52yr old Slayer fan.
I was a teenager when Reign in Blood came out. By then, we already had Kreator's "Pleasure to Kill", S.O.D.'s "Speak English or Die", and a handful of other albums that were faster and heavier than Slayer.
Weird thing about Slayer... when u get into Slayer, u get INTO Slayer!!! 🤘🤘 This was the original Slayer back in 2004 - the live DVD 'Still reigning', which had the band playing the entire 1986 album 'Reign in blood' in concert, starting w/ 'Angel of death' and ending w/ 'Raining blood' - they had actual fake blood raining on the stage during that last song on this tour. U can do the DVD live set if u like... 😁 Tom Araya (vocals & bass) had back surgery in 2009, so he couldn't headbang from 2010 like he used to here... Jeff Hanneman (guitar) the blond guitarist, died in 2013 after surviving a near-fatal bacterial infection in 2011. Dave Lombardo (drums) had been fired in 1992 ... he rejoined in 2002 but he would leave again in 2012 citing 'unsignable contracts' as reason for his quitting... Kerry King (guitar) the bald guy, has been the key songwriter (w/ Jeff Hanneman) since Slayer's inception. I had seen Slayer so many times w/ Jeff Hanneman, that when guitarist Gary Holt took his spot officially in 2013, Slayer looked weird on stage w/ him in the band... Paul Bostaph (drums) joined Slayer in 1992 to replace Dave Lombardo, but he left the band a few times... Bostaph returned to Slayer in 2013 until the band ended in 2019.
I saw Slayer in 2018 in Pasa Robles California, they played a few songs then played a song from Reign In Blood a few more songs then another Reign In Blood song like that through the whole concert!!! Amazing show, I agree, it’s just different without Jeff and Dave, I’m a drummer so I really missed Dave, got to see him at Aftershock last year with ST!!!!
I've seen Slayer first time at the Reign in Blood tour. You're right, I never got used to the new lineup. The duo King/Hanneman was an absolutely brilliant inferno.
You picked an awesome live video Biscutte great job you are now an official Slayer fan congratulations !! Lol ! SLAYER RULES !!! This was a great live performance these guys don't play around ! Slayer's riffs are the stuff of legends ! And Lombardo on the drums man he is scary !
This is a good pick for a live video as it has all 4 original founding members: Tom Araya (Bass and Vocals), Kerry King (Guitar), Jeff Hanneman (guitar), and Dave Lombardo (Drums). Jeff Hanneman is the one who wrote this masterpiece. He's also currently as I write this the only member of the band to have died. After his death this song was the last song of the night. That part after the build up when it goes crazy the Slayer logo at the back of the stage would be replaced with a giant banner that read: Angel of Death Jeff Hanneman 1964-2013 Still Reigning F*cking Metal! F*cking SLAYER! \M/( )\M/ Almost forgot! Not a song, but if you want to laugh your ass off look up comedian Jim Breuer - Slayer Fans (with Spanish subtitles as it's the only version with the full skit). It's the most accurate description of what being around Slayer fans when they're on stage is like I've ever heard. It's hysterically funny.
There is no Slayer, there is only 'F*ckin SLAYER!!!! Check out the song 'Live Undead' or 'Ghosts of War' original versions. They rarely played either song live (but those are great too!). Fantastic reaction, btw. You get it. 😉
The chill Chilean singer Tom, actually is overtly chill; he laughs at the drop of a hat and is always smiling and laughing. It's contagious. Kerry King not so much, and Jeff was a major recluse. I feel I should point out I'm not making a pun with "recluse" as the Brown Recluse is the spider that necrotized his arm and possibly lead to his death. Nobody really knew him well, even Kerry said.
This is a true story. The Trocodero in Philly overbooked a show for " A Week in the Abyss tour". It was Seasons played one week before being released. Packed like sardines. They played Angel of Death for an encode. Balcony people broke a water pipe. Rancid water everywhere. They stopped the show and threw us out! Then, people tried to overturn a bus on Arch St. The driver came out with a gun. I'll never forget it. Fucking crazy night. Also, in my 40s, I got to see them a few more times. I made it a point to be in front of Kerry King and I fought and won that position every damn show.
I always like to picture one dude seated politely until the end of the concert, only to stand and nicely applaud and quietly leave. 😂 I’m just weird I suppose.
First of all… welcome to the family! Second, “that guy” who makes you want to headbang is KFK (Kerry Fuckin’ King). I’ve been a diehard fan since I was about 13 years old and have seen them live, eight times. Their farewell tour, I saw them two days, back to back (Darien Lake, NY Friday and Syracuse, NY Saturday). That was a long fucking weekend lol. I’m always happy to see a young person being inducted into our “cult”!! 😉 You’ve gained a new subscriber! Keep listening and learning!! 🤘🏻
Super reaction! Thanks! When I listened to this I was about 12 years old. My friends and family hated this and really gave me a lot of grief over liking this, so nice to see this get the respect and love of a new generation!!! Big Props!
As the saying goes, art imitates life. Slayer does this through their medium, music. They do not shy away from controversial topics, which many non-fans in the 80s misunderstood as if the band was venerating certain evil acts of humanity...no, they are simply depicting it through the art form of heavy metal, brutal music for brutal topics. Some would say it's a perfect merge of topic and medium. This song clearly refers to Dr. Mengele from Nazi Germany. One of my other favorites of theirs, from the '88 album, is Silent Scream, a no-holds-barred expose of abortion from the point of view of the 'unwanted child'...and it's rapid-fire thrash at its finest, too.
My first time seeing Slayer was on the Reign in Blood tour at the Hollywood Paladium. As a 16 year old young metalhead it was like being in an actual war. Chaos everywhere, bodies flying in all directions and of course, actual blood. Insanity.
Amazing. Your best reaction yet.. Love the energy. So glad you got around to listening to this song. It really is a jam. Especially love that there was no "goin down" on this video. Was scared for your next Slayer reaction because of what you said last time 🤣 But for real nothing but love keep it up👍 .
This is a classic Slayer song, from a very iconic and classic band which had their best time back in the 80's I'd say and their energy is always off the charts, except for the one song you should react to next: "Seasons in the Abyss" which is rather slow paced in the beggining... and starts picking up little by little and it gets to a very nice paced rhythm, pratically not normal for them since this is how fast they usually play, fast, but give it a try, you'll love it and it features Jeff Hanneman, (R.I.P. ) I want to say lead guitarrist but I really don't know, being that him and Kerry King always alternate solos... anyway, I'm so glad you did this and you're great at reactions and alway love the songs you choose for reaction, you're just a natural (metal head) greetings from Guatemala.
please react to Nevermore -This godless endeavor!Insane Vocals,Insane Guitars.Nevermore is probably the best band you never heared about!Highly Underrated!!!🤘
A buddy of mine introduced me to Nevermore. Didn't get into them hard but if memory serves they did a super hard cover of The Sound of Silence I totally dug!
This album - not just Slayer - sits in my top 5 ALL TIME! I remember when it came out and a few years after this release and I bought a CD player, this was the first CD I ever bought. Slayer and Iron Maiden have been in my life since I can remember listening to music that I chose to listen to. So yeah, I am old and I have literally been a metal thrasher since I was 13. Slayer is just perfect for me, Maiden made me a metal fan, Slayer made me a thrash fan, Pantera made me a groove fan. Metal really is a way of life.
Hi Bisscute, thanks for reacting to slayer! 🤟 the most important aspect of from you, you headbang, thrashed a little. One thing, you forgot to put your hands up and throw your devil horns! 🤘 thank you! If only you had the chance to see slayer in live concert, it's insane! ✌️
They always put on an amazing show!! I was fortunate to see them twice. Once co-headline with Pantera, then six months later during the "God hates us all" tour. Fucking awesome!!!
In the studio version Tom Araya scream at the beginning is so high pitched that I always imagined he was barefoot and stepped on a Lego brick: "Aaaaaaahhhhhh!" 😅
Love your reactions! Such a metalhead you have become. Slayer - War Ensemble (Official Music Video) REMASTERED IN HD. From a concert in Wembley U.K. 1990. Kerry King had hair back in this 1990 video and Tom Araya (bass/lead singer) had a vicious headbang before his neck injury - you can see them both headbang like crazy. Lots of drums that you like from the thrash master drummer Dave Lombardo and always great guitar from Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman (Rest in Power). Better warm up your neck before you watch, this one is impossible to not headbang!!
2:20 "Oh my god, the drums". And that kid's is why Dave Lombardo is the greatest thrash drummer ever and one of the most underrated drummers of all time.
Hi Bisscute, You have to react to "Lions At The Gate - "Find My Way" featuring Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer". You are going to like it a lot!! It is not wasted!!
your taste in music is strong, try the reaction of the band from Indonesia deadsquad with the title Curse of the black plaque I will wait for your reaction
I met Kerry King, the bald guitarist, at Ozzfest. Nicest, coolest, dude ever. Moshed like hell when they played. Gotta love the battle wounds. FUCKING SLAYER!🤘
There is something so satisfying to watch you react to SLAYER! That was you having pure fun! You could tell that you genuinely enjoyed that song. So I am going to react to another from this Live performance. Listen to Mandatory Suicide!!!! Look for the live version from this live performance.! Keep it up. I have been a Slayer fan since 87'. I really enjoyed your reaction!! Thank you! You are so sweet!
Only really started listening to Slayer in the last 3 years or so, after a good mate of mine (Ade, who was the original drummer with the British metal band, Stampin’ Ground) recommended that I listen to ‘Reign In Blood’. It took a while, but I’ve got several of their albums now, and have also added stuff by Exodus, Pantera, Testament, Machine Head and Heathen, to the collection 🤘🏻🎸
This was the first Slayer song I ever heard. March of 1997 in Middle School. Slayer changed my life! I saw them live in 2002. Angel of Death was the opener. Check out Hell Awaits, Black Magic and Chemical Warfare. Songs that Slayer released before the Rainging Blood album. Yes Slayer makes me want to headbang!😈! There is something about a gorgeous woman rocking out to Slayer!!❤️❤️❤️
A very much MUST for you to see is the Raining Blood video that is from their Decade of Aggression double album... I think it was a performance at Lakeside CA in 91 (ty wiki!). I was in my early 20s when i first heard Slayer and i was immediately hooked. Power, energy, music change ups...YESSSS!
You: I want to speak nice. You after first breakdown, "fucking hell". That is a classic reaction to a Slayer song, imo. You nailed it! Keep it up on the Slayer songs and you have a subscriber for life! This song: Angel of Death, is what everyone will tell you is the definition of Thrash Metal. This one song is it!
I must have listened to this album thousands of times, since the time it came out in the 80s. I wore a Slayer t-shirt for so many years nearly every day it finally turned into a rag.
The neck surgery was from head banging. He is well known for headbanging. Most of the bands stopped doing it like when they were in their 20s. He didn't. Ultimately paid the price with his body.
We here in the Bay Area claim Slayer as our own, Metallica and Exodus fans embraced them here right away, not like in LA. Love Tom, smoked with him many times 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻
Tom Araya was the most brutal headbanger there is. He’s just chilling not moving because he had neck surgery because of the head banging he used to do. Here’s the best example…
Most underrated genius thrash band = Coroner. The singer's favorite album is Grin. I'm very partial to it as well. No More Color is awesome in studio, but there are several with good live sound.
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .

I remember thinking Tom Araya was so scary and evil, but when you watch interviews he's always smiling and seems like a very happy guy.
Not to mention he's a Christian singing the lyrics that he does.
@@jonlate4581 Well that doesn't sell him as a good guy to me. lol Not a fan of most christians these days.
He’s a super nice guy when I’ve talked to him.
He's a super-nice guy, but so is Lucifer!
Absolutely. I always thought the same thing until I seen a interview of Tom talking about his kids and grandkids.
Ive listened to slayer for 30 years. Listening to them actually relaxes me. I know all the lyrics and instruments. Long live SLAYER
as a teen i fell asleep to Slayer and woke up by them playing in my old school stereo with sleep timer and alarm clock built into it 45 now so a looong time ago

Me falling asleep to this knowing that the song lyrics is about what happened in 1939.
Mee as well
2:33 One of the most badass guitar riff of all time
It's my morning alarm
@@karachijameology3092 That'll get you up! lol
It's godlike and demonic at the same time
Fucking A Right 🤘
True story. I heard that first in the "Jackass" movie, and had to look up the soundtrack to find that song. Slayer fan ever since.
Damn I miss seeing Slayer live in concert
I seen these guy's in the late 80s and they was Great.

This was me! After hearing die by the sword and antichrist, I was hooked. This is easily one of the best albums ever made.
I was a teenager when Reign in Blood came out. By then, we already had Kreator's "Pleasure to Kill", S.O.D.'s "Speak English or Die", and a handful of other albums that were faster and heavier than Slayer.
these heavy metal legends are involved in animal care, and cuddle rescue pups and kittens.... how amazing are they
That was the coolest reaction i've seen. It had everything, headbanging, swearing and amazement you absolutely rock🤘🏻

Warlock all we are HD official video the queen of metal
Well thats the most metal thing i heard in many years. Decades actually. Fucking Slayer! Love ya.
The song South of Heaven is slower than their usual thrash stuff but it has some of my FAVORITE riffs. You WILL be headbanging!!
you mentioned the drums early. dave lombardo is a beast
Amen. One of the best in METAL!
That type of scream at the beginning is actually named after him, called an Araya
I love how you headbang; so energetic, it just.... gives me life :)

They're so good live, put on a great show. The audience always has an energy.
I always like to picture one dude seated politely until the end of the concert, only to stand and nicely applaud and quietly leave. 😂
I’m just weird I suppose.
Kerry King and Jeff hannaman are the best guitar combination ever
First of all… welcome to the family! Second, “that guy” who makes you want to headbang is KFK (Kerry Fuckin’ King). I’ve been a diehard fan since I was about 13 years old and have seen them live, eight times. Their farewell tour, I saw them two days, back to back (Darien Lake, NY Friday and Syracuse, NY Saturday). That was a long fucking weekend lol. I’m always happy to see a young person being inducted into our “cult”!! 😉
You’ve gained a new subscriber! Keep listening and learning!! 🤘🏻
The douling guitar solos become so blistering you think their fingers will catch on fire.
Super reaction! Thanks! When I listened to this I was about 12 years old. My friends and family hated this and really gave me a lot of grief over liking this, so nice to see this get the respect and love of a new generation!!! Big Props!
Absolute talent
Well family and friends were assholes
FUCKIN' SLAAAAAYER!🤘🤘Best Reaction I've seen! I am fan since '83 and I can tell you that a SLAYER fan is a fanatic. :)
There is Slayer, and then there is everyone else. Great reaction, headbanging, and all. Peace.
Damb girl! You are such a metalhead! Fun reactions. Keep it up and have fun on your metal journey.
Most songs people play air guitar to, this song you play the air drums
get out of my way when I'm driving my car and listening to Slayer!
Never seen anyone have such just FUN w/ Slayer. That was awesome.
Slayer has a song on a movie called dead time stories, it great
This might be the cutest reaction video in the whole RUclips multiverse.
Kerry King is a beast. Even when standing in with the Beastie Boys on No Sleep til Brooklyn

Bisscute are absolutely bad ass. The way you react to this music is priceless
Bisscute,I would have loved to have taken you to a Slayer concert. Because, you seem like my kind of girl,my Romanian, Queen 👑
Any Slayer live performance is a good live performance.
My first time seeing Slayer was on the Reign in Blood tour at the Hollywood Paladium. As a 16 year old young metalhead it was like being in an actual war. Chaos everywhere, bodies flying in all directions and of course, actual blood. Insanity.
If you want headbanging I suggest Slayer live in 85 :) Song "Hell Awaits" then you see some real oldschool hair haha
Amazing. Your best reaction yet.. Love the energy. So glad you got around to listening to this song. It really is a jam. Especially love that there was no "goin down" on this video. Was scared for your next Slayer reaction because of what you said last time 🤣 But for real nothing but love keep it up👍 .
YES! When you see Kerry King, you headbang.
Saw Slayer back in 1988 with Motorhead and Overkill in Houston Texas

So I am going to react to another from this Live performance. Listen to Mandatory Suicide!!!! Look for the live version from this live performance.! Keep it up. I have been a Slayer fan since 87'. I really enjoyed your reaction!! Thank you! You are so sweet!
Biss, that drummer is one of the greatest drummers In music period. Dave Lombardo.
SLAYER will reign forevahhhhhhhh!!
Welcome to Slayer, listen to all of it. Hell Awaits 🤟🏻🤟🏻
All Their performances are AMAZING
I'm 57 years old and I was thrashing to this upon its release in 86 and still do.
Dam... this girl is...... headbanging!!!!!! Throw the headset away and let your hair free!
It’s cute how you’re having a ball head banging with the rest of us lol you just got another sub 🙌🏾
FUCKIN SLAYER!!!!!
RIP JEFF HANNEMAN!😡🤘🤬
Slayer son lo maximo
I was at this show, they had an off date from Ozzfest and filmed it. Seen them 4x that week and I'm still bruised.
Here’s the best example…
rancid, angel of death, flying free SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYER 🤘
Try their "Repentless Killogy", which is 3 videos: Repentless, You Against You, Pride In Prejudice. )
Love your reaction I'm 55-year-old Metalhead saw Slayer seven times in Detroit and I'm telling you the best song they had is dead skin mask
Blondies, harpos, pine knob, cobo, joe, state -fillmore, freedom hill,,
That was a great performance - - in a world full of plastic music Slayer really hits home sometimes - got me right in the feels ❤
Most underrated genius thrash band = Coroner. The singer's favorite album is Grin. I'm very partial to it as well. No More Color is awesome in studio, but there are several with good live sound.
