Yep, just keep in mind, they're not glorifying it, they're exposing it. I was horrified by this song when I first heard it about 35 years ago or whatever, but when I actually read through the lyrics, I realized it's like a history lesson put to music. An incredibly dark and disturbing history, but history never the less. It reminded me of the famous quote "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."
Thank you for mentioning that. So many people ... especially when metal is concerned just take it on shock .. hate or racial value. Where other music can expose issues of the past or present ... cheers mate
No no no, lets make discussion of hard topics taboo! That way, the general public, you know, the people who make decisions in democratic countries, won't have to think about it! It can't happen again guys, it could never possibly happen, so why worry!
Another song was also about the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the hangman of Prague. Considered the 3 in line of the SS command behind Hitler and Himmler. Hence the title, SS3
FUCKING SLAYER!! 💥 💥 💥 💥 💥
You want brutal read history... or the bible.. an old thrash metal secret
RIP JEFF you are totally missed thanks for your gift you left us all
been to his grave it was surreal!
RIP Slayer
Fun to see what we all had.. you go girl 🏴
So sad that he passed so young
Jeff a brutal riff machine.
A Slayer concert is like being in the pits of hell for an hour and 45 minutes one of the most brutal bands ever
100%. Shoulder dislocation, nosebleed, big shiny purple eyes, unhinged jaw and more guaranteed.
Literal blood on the floor. You could skate around in it
Yep especially back in the day when the main floor was GA! Seen them more times then I can remember.
I mean, sure. As far as mainstream thrash goes Slayer was on top. There are some way more brutal thrash bands, Demolition Hammer - Epidemic Of Violence is regarded as the heaviest/most brutal thrash album ever. In recent years Power Trip had some pretty brutal shows as well. Not trying to belittle Slayers legacy or influence, just trying to highlight some bands that aren't in the main stream category of Thrash.
@@kristofferlodesjo5781 Epidemic of Violence is fkn KILLER. That drumming is insane!
Back in the 80s, Tom Arraya once said in an interview that the song grew from the question: "How could these people look themselves in the mirror after all the monstrous things they did? How did they justify it to themselves?"
Slayer is pure brutality. Back in the early/mid 1980's were one the most extreme bands in Metal by any means, also with Motörhead, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Bathory, Hellhammer, and Celtic Frost, influenced the creation of Death Metal and Black Metal. Jeff, Kerry and Tom lyrics has always that creepy and punch of reality factor.
well said my guy
@@robthomas2655 Oh Rob Thomas... "smooth" thanks... say Hi to Carlos Santana, haha...
@@ronnywilson2112 lol im not the singer im the cool one lol xp
Araya didn't write many of the lyrics.
It was mostly Jeff and Kerry.
@@vorpalbladesangel of death and other most of awesome lyrics were written by Jeff
A little ditty, as you rightly said, about Dr Josef Mengele. There is a lot of Nazism referenced in Slayer's canon - Jeff Hannemann (RIP) was so well read in the subject. They got a load of shit about being Nazis when in reality they were just putting the message out there about the Holocaust in their own inimitable style (Tom Araya Vocals and Bass is one of the nicest, softly spoken guys you could meet). Go check out the lyrics AND the studio version. And for info - I visited Bergen Belsen years ago - one of the most humbling experiences of my life.
They're not really referencing Nazism. They're telling a horror story about them. Remember Jeff's dad killed them
...the Honorable Minister Farrakhan, Kanye West & myself had some discussions, I wouldn't trade those times for ALL the gold in The Third Temple.
fuck israel
Tom reminds me of Jerry Garcia now and Kerry is just a heavy metal gnome. 😂😂😂
@@cryptoSabbateanFrankistJacobin lmao
Greatest Band ever.🤘 Even named my daughter Araya.
Pretty badass.
🤘🤘🍻🍻.
Lucky daughter you have there! Love it!
Awesome
Tom Araya From Chile....Metal legend
It’s sad to think that a generation is so weak they can’t even talk about the past so we don’t repeat it again. This song makes sure people know what happened.
I don't know any young people that are unwilling to talk about this? Young people are the ones running around saying "See a nazi, punch a nazi" lol
@Metal Head Indeed, but sadly a lot of critical thinking nowadays has been clouded by strong emotional reactions
Best comment ever!!!
It's easy to push your narrative when you cancel all history that proves it to all to be bullshit. Those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
well said 🤘
That's right. Infamous!, Butcher!, Angel of Deeeeeeeaaaath!!!! Slayer's guitar solos could be described as two cats fighting in a canvas bag. Song title is Raining Blood Lilly. Also check out Seasons in the Abyss, Postmortem, and War Ensemble.
*Reign in Blood
@@scrolemodel The album is "Reign in Blood"... the song is "Raining Blood" ;)
@@savemepunk3191 All these years..., lol. My bad!
MonarchtotheKindomofthedeaaaad
Slayer - Disciple. Goosebumps every time.
God hates us all is so underrated
Fuck Yes!! 🤘
I love that song, but I enjoy New Faith even more. It's not a debate. We like what we like. Either way, God Hates Us All!😇🙏🤣🤘🤘🤘
& payback, when I heard that one I broke my neck lol
this one is sick AF
The breakdown in this song contains one of the greatest riffs of all time.
Didn't expect such a sharp-witted, emotional and open-minded reaction to this song, lol
I think this is my new favorite reaction, Lilly Jane!! And the occasion for it was just perfect. No one tells a story like Slayer! Contrary to average belief, they must be the most anti war, anti cruelty band, especially in their genre. Exposing the horrors and ugliness of war, torture, murder and other evils that humans do to each other. And Slayer does it so effectively, bringing their point across so bluntly in your face, in a manner of a shock. Add the amazing level of musical performance. Unnerving, menacing riffs, off key screaming solos, and thrashing, second to none...
For next Slayer songs, besides Raining Blood, I recommend Chemical Warfare - really the one song that signified Slayer moving onto serious topics. I also suggest you do Repentless, an awesome song from their most recent (2015) studio album by the same title. I'd definitely also look into South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss albums, there're quite a few of great songs there. Looking forward to more Slayer! 🤘😖
Raining Blood is Slayers most well known song. Repentless, War Ensemble, Seasons in the Abyss, South of Heavan and Hell Awaits are great too.
War Ensemble \m/
God Hates Us All
Leave Repentless out :D
Slayer live was always an experience not to be missed. Saw them 3 times. Will remember each one till the day I die. 🤘
Saw them six times:)
One of my favourite song when i was introduced to Slayer in 1995. Now in my 40's, it's still in my best playlist.
In my 60s and still listening!!
WORD....🤘🔥🤘 F.ckin SLAAAAAYYYYEEERRRR!!! 🥁🎸🤘🔥🤘
@@haxan6663 Rock on, dude! That's the way.
Am exactly your age and was introduced to them in 1995 but my favorite year was 1997 when i discovered symphony x , rhapsody and cradle of filth
@@silverstone3228 hell yeah cradle..my first album was V Empire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein..i think it was 1996.
This is one of the most perfect songs in any genre
This was actually the very first Slayer song I ever heard. I remember watching an old music video channel in the 90's called "The Box" and this song came on and completely blew my mind.
This could might aswell have been the 10,000th time I´ve listened to this, its just timeless :) (as are every slayer-song btw)
You owe it to yourself to listen to the studio track on Reign In Blood. The initial scream is blood curdling!
In fact, that entire album is possibly the most aggressive displays ever recorded, and capped at the beginning with Angel Of Death, and at the end with the equally epic Raining Blood. It set the standard for extreme Metal, that, to be honest, I dont know if its ever been topped. Sure, I know, everyone will argue that tons of bands tried to be more extreme, but to my ears, I’ll argue that it just never quite worked. Reign In Blood is still the most epic, most Extreme Metal album ever created, if for no other reason, than they were the first, and at best, Ill allow that others may have matched it, but they never topped it. I would recommend it as a full album review…. If you think you can handle 26 minutes solid of pure aggressive adrenaline.
Bro, I'm a huge Megadeth fan, but your words about the iconic Reign In Blood album gave me a legit rager. Respect!
@@Stable_Genius Peace Sells is right up there! Arguably on par, even….
@@buzzbomb67 Peace Sells is 1A for me. Rust in Peace is the number 1 Deth album IMO.
There's vids from Slayer club shows back on their Reign In Blood tour in 86, and not only is Araya's opening scream for Angel of Death pitch perfect due to him being so much younger, the overall sound is much better too than the show in this clip, probably due to a small club having better acoustics than an open stadium
Thank you Liliy Jane for playing this awesome song and this great band called Slayer🤘🤘
Their discography really should be done from the beginning to the end to appreciate the growth
Let's not gloss over the fact that they played this entire album in its entirety on that tour, so this was the first song of the night.
Also, this song was always their closing song. So either way, in those regards, this song is just a hell of a stamina test too.
This was not the first song of the set. They played a set of other songs first and then played the album at the end. The bonus songs on the DVD are from the set before they did Reign in it's entirety. They actually had played 11 songs BEFORE Angel of Death including Disciple, War Ensemble, Payback, Hell Awaits and 7 others... They were on FIRE at this show. I know because I was there. Kudos to the crowd surviving this as the lineup for this show was God Forbid, Hatebreed, Slipknot and THEN Slayer playing 21 songs:)
War ensemble, Dead skin mask, chemical warfare, honestly you can't go wrong with any SLAYER song
The absolute most perfect and greatest thrash song of all time.
There was a lot of controversy about this song, their original label wouldn't even release it. To be clear, it's not a pro-Nazi or anti-Jewish song, it's just a recounting of the evil atrocities that happened. I thought that a live version might be a bit much for a first timer but this performance was pretty clear and understandable. I still recommend you check out the album version as well, though. I'll suggest "Behind The Crooked Cross" for a future listen.
*Also, you should listen to Postmortem and Raining Blood as one song!!!
Heavy Metal can be best described as someone scooping out all the dirt and realities of mankind and slinging it on somebody's face to look and see because avoiding it only puts you on a trajectory to repeat it.
If you wanna go down the rabbit hole of disturbing songs, you should really check out their song "silent scream "
Agreed and definitely postmortem and Raining Blood should be listened to together
The mainstream will get upset just because it's being talked about without fiercely condemning it, and say it's pro-nazi or whatever. But in reality Slayer is just like: Hey here's some fucked up shit that happened.
@@randywissler9923 yes. The best anti-abortion song ever.
singing about the abhorrent horrors of the past is vitally important to the progression of humanity. examining these events allows us to understand better and recognise quicker when similar events unfold. i've been headbanging to this since it first came out and i won't ever stop. Slayer have no equal - killer band 😎🤘☘
Respect & Peace ☘
Yeah, one of my favorite things about Slayer is this thing of getting everyone angry and scared. One of my favorite bands, no words. A brutal combination of metal, punk and hardcore.
It's difficult, isn't it. I was born in East Germany. It was an integral part of the education back then to visit a concentration camp when we were around 12 yrs old, at that age quite a shocking experience. One day, I stumbled across a video of Slayer performing at some Hollywood event, and I was disgusted by the way the audience reacted - having fun, mocking heavy metal etc. But Slayer did a great thing with this song -- they created a memorial of the events in their own way. A really shocking song, extremely well though t through, and as brutal as the events they are singing about.
Definitely my favorite reaction of yours yet!! Love that you understood so quickly what the context was about! And your almost visceral reaction, because of your firsthand knowledge, was super poignant!!
It's easy to headbang to the song, until you delve into the subject matter!! That's exactly the feelings you should have when witnessing this song! This is absolutely a Thrash Masterpiece and props for watching a version with all the original members!! RIP Jeff.🤘🏻
I love the fact that you figured out who this song was about.
probably 1 of the most recognized intro + drum beats from SLAYER also covered by S.O.D ,M.O.D , & the dude that sung with Faith No More etc......
Hi Lilly! Nice reaction! :)
Here's an abbreviated list of my favorite most brutal Slayer songs.
These songs below are a grinding machine. :)
Hell Awaits
Altar of Sacrifice
Silent Scream
Necrophobic
Killing Fields
Hallowed Point
Spirit In Black
War Ensemble
Ditto Head
Raining Blood
Silent Scream! AND South of Heaven! You forgot one, lol. Great list though.
Gemini is a brutal track
Slayer - Dead Skin Mask.....it's more melodic & eerie, off the Seasons In The Abyss Album. When you get a chance. 👍😎👍 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
“Gonna tell you a little story about a man named Ed, who used to sleep and dance with the dead. Dead. Skin. Maasssssssk.”- Tom Araya, Decade of Aggression live album.
Its a message. Its for people like your self and next generations to remember. They are not glorifying or hailing it. They are a brutal band with brutal messages.
Meet Slayer back in the 1990's at a little shop in SLC called The Heavy Metal Shop (best store EVER- Hi Kevin). Blew me away how nice and down to earth they were.
Yes 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Angel of Death it's definitely Slayer's most aggressive song. Tom Araya was raised Catholic so there are many songs in Slayers catalog that speak to religion. In particular the atrocities of human history.
I'm excited for Raining Blood 🤘🤘🤘 another staple from Slayer that song is inspired by biblical text of the war in heaven. Other great songs are 213, War Ensemble, Dead Skin Mask, South of Heaven, and Disciple 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Criminally insane is much more aggressive.
Tom just sings the words that Jeff and Kerry wrote.
The fact that you knew what the song was about is so🤯😍🖤✨
Some research before making a video 🤯 Who would've thunked it🤔
I had the great pleasure to see them on the Raining Blood tour in the U.K. and I have never seen as many bodies raining off a stage in my entire life. Immense. Great reaction.
Abacinate, verb, torture inflicted to the eyes typically with hot metal. Thanks SLAYER for this awesome vocabulary word! Whenever I hear ANGEL of DEATH I try to drop the word abacinate numerous times in daily conversation.
There used to be a tv show in the UK back in the 80's and 90's (probably earlier too) called 'Call my bluff' where three people would give a meaning to an obscure word and the other team had to guess which was the truth.
Abacinate was used once, and I was Oo, oo I know that one!
This is why I’m hooked on your reactions! Easily the most intelligent reaction to this song I’ve seen! Reign in Blood and War Ensemble is where I’d go next.
When this came out, we all knew what it was about.
Education has been dumbed down.
And, contrary to what my mom thought, Slayer never glorified the evil that their songs were about.
She was in her 60s before I showed her an interview with Tom, at home with his family.. 😂
Beautiful reaction to this tune. Very real, open-minded, open-hearted and informed.
YEESSS!!! Raining Blood, ESPECIALLY live video from THIS SAME concert is FIRE! \m/😎\m/
Slayer doesn't had much music videos, but you could check Bloodline, Eyes Of The Insane (they won Grammy with this song) and of cource Repentless Killogy (Repentless, You Against You, Pride In Prejudice).
P.S.: And also you could check Mandatory Suicide live video from THIS SAME concert. :)
You couldn't have picked a better song. Slayer is without a doubt the kings of thrash. "Hell awaits " is an awesome song and awesome album. "Evil has no boundaries" is another great one. Actually you could throw a dart at slayer titles and whatever you hit is going to blow you away. Love your channel and you did a great job on reviewing Angel of death!
I'm 51 years old and never knew that about this song. Listened to this a million times wow. Thanks you for educating me
Alissa White-Gluz's grandparents were prisoners in concentration camps during World War II and managed to escape. Their experiences in the camps would go on to inspire the Arch Enemy song "First Day in Hell". from their previous album, "Will to Power". This topic (The Holocaust) is still very important.
Yeah, this is classic Slayer! You should definitely check out Raining Blood next.
True, that and South of Heaven
They got so much hate for this song when it first came out. I love it.
This was one of their best live performances of Angel Of Death. Good choice for a live reaction
Slayer- At Dawn They Sleep, live video is VHS Full intrusion. It is simply better than the album version, and I say that as someone who usually prefers the album versions.
Imo is is amongst the most underrated. Other excellent songs include:
Black Magic
Metal storm/face the slayer
Necrophiliac
There’s others, but those options don’t get reviewed too often
Please do the studio with lyrics 🙏🙏
I live in the city this was filmed in, Augusta Maine and 20 years later people still talk about this concert.
"Angel Of Death" was talked of not being on their semiole ep "Rein In Blood" for obvious provokative lyrics. The existence of the song, when the PMRC was in full effect is a testament to Slayer's uncompromising process:) This song is what made "Rein In Blood" their game changer. Yeah, "Raining Blood" is a great next choice for slayer. If I might make a suggestion for "Wake Up" Live at the Moore, by Mad Season, with the G.O.A.T. on lead vocals. That whole concert is legendary. Thank You
I honestly think their most aggressive song is relentless, especially the music video.
I would stick to the album tracks if I were you. They are kinda sloppy live. Listen to "Read between the lies".
i've been watching metal reaction videos for the same songs for so long, i do understand why this hasnt gotten old yet
I saw Slayer in Germany on the 9th of May in 1987 (Reign in Blood tour) and it was mindblowing. I'm 53 now and was 17 back then.
Did they perform this song in Germany?
Check out a band called Obituary . Cause of Death or The End Complete is a good start . But also a more main stream but still heavy as Hell the band Sepultura ! Start with Chaos A.D. or Dead Embryonic Cells . They are thrash from Brazil . Killer videos and great songs ! I think you will really Dig Sepultura . And so will your fans ! They will bring you some hits ! Ive not seen anyone else to react to them . Be the first Lilly Jane !!! Love your stuff . Thanx
Yeah, if she really wants to turn it to eleven, those are the bands to go to. But "Beneith the remains" is probably the heviest/thrashiest album ever made
@@Psyche-ud2mn Love that album ! I was just trying to find her good tracks with videos t get her going ! Then we hit the deeper dives like Troops of Doom even !!
Saw Obituary in Houston with BLS. Knew who they were, became a fan after seeing them live. 🔥🔥
The whole south of heaven album is incredible
This is on “Reign in Blood”.
This album got me through high school. I had a teacher hear it and put her fingers in a cross and tell me I was going to hell. I was forced to go to a christian school for a year. I was an atheist since I was 13. One of my favorite songs / Albums! Should check them all out but Cult, Eyes of the insane, and Catatonic are 3 of my favorites. Spill the Blood.. Bloodline.Piano Wire. Hell ..all of them.
Fun fact...Public Enemy sampled the breakdown rift in "she watch channel zero" as they are both produced by Rick Rubin(defjam) at the time.
She doesn't get it.
I agree
SLAYER IS THE GREATEST BAND TO EVER WALK THE PLANET OF EARTH 🌎. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hey, everyone reacts to Angel of Death and Raining Blood. Please go outside the box and react to Antichrist, Cult, Evil Has No Boundaries, Disciple, Temptation, Hell Awaits, or Crypts of Eternity or Seven Faces. I feel like I could go on forever. These are songs that I haven't seen anyone react to. Well, there are a couple here that have been reacted to. Thank you for my consideration.
Tom is a screaming legend.... gotta be a SLAYER fan!!!
My favorite band now for what 30/40 yrs. Was a girl metal head back in the day and now have the son getting into Slayer. Tom Araya, a family man a softly spoken man always smiling and happy I could listen to him say Fire all day long. Best song for me is Expendable Youth.
I commend slayer for standing behind this track and for jeff ir writing it its an important time in history that everything said was actuality done to others by another human being. It should be not forgotten and passed on your clueless if you dont know or in denial. Its proof on how a person's mind can be warped and twisted into believing something so vile and atrocious for the benefit of someone else. This needs to be never forgotten so it never happens again!!
This is Terry VonCannon. Just found your channel and the reaction was awesome. It's great to hear a beautiful young woman who is aware of those events during WWII. My uncle helped liberate the Buchenwald Camp in 1945. You must listen to Raining Blood. If you have not done Pantera Domination live it is just as much a banger! 🤘🤘
1.) Having seen Slayer many times one of the things you're not getting from just watching this is in person each note would make your bones rattle in your body like you were sitting in a vibrating chair. Keep that thought in mind and then imagine what those double bass kicks were like in person. It felt like Slayer was giving you their power straight into your soul.
2.) As for the subject matter there's a few things to keep in mind. 1. A lot of those people who did those horrible things were, including Hitler himself, surviving soldiers from WW1 who lived through the horrors of trench warfare and places like Verdun that has been described as one of the top 5 places in all human history that would qualify as quote "Hell on Earth." No one involved with all that came back right. 2. The entire German society collapsed twice (technically 3 times after WW2) in one lifetime. Making the normal population paranoid of the future and in some cases insane. 3. The worst in my opinion, they didn't hurt "innocent people" in their minds, because they didn't see them as human but a different race/species of people all together from them. A book that really drives this home, that is possibly the most depressing and heartbreaking book I've ever read is a book called "Hilter's Furies" about Nazi women. They did things at times that made Nazi men like those in the S.S. uncomfortable to watch.
Not that any of that excuses anything they did, but just goes to show there's weren't normal, civilized, cultured people who just decided one day to do all that. They were broken, traumatized, and P.T.S.D. ridden people angry at the whole world and wanted to take revenge on everybody they could get their hands on. They deserve to be condemned for all time but it also shows how easily, when everything breaks down, people can lose all morals and do the unthinkable. Anybody is capable of losing it and being pure evil given enough of the wrong circumstances over a long enough period of time.
I remember the first time I heard Slayer. I seen them on their Reign In Blood tour. My buddy asked me if I wanted to go see Slayer. I was like sure, but who's Slayer? We took a couple hits of Acid, and drank a 1/2 gallon of Even Williams just for fun and went to the shown. I thought I was being assaulted by the wall of wonderful, beautiful noise that penetrated my soul. I have never been the same... lol...
I think it was Tom who described Slayer as a dark cloud covering the world because of the subject matter they cover. Nicely put.
I've been a fan of slayer for decades. Love seeing the reactions of people who never heard of slayer.
I remember hearing this in 1986 at the bike racks as a freshman. My jaw literally dropped. Definitely the wildest shit out there at the time.
I'm 60yrs old and I love Slayer
South of Heaven... many of us Slayer followers ( we're not fans we are followers ). Some think of their follow up album to be lacking of intensity which I believe the whole album as a whole does not. Had the privilege of seeing slayer twice, once with the original lineup and both shows kicked ass but I must say South of Heaven crossed between speed and slowing tempos down becoming more sadistic as well as better written. So maybe check out South of Heaven. By the way, love the Lilly Munster hair.
Super impressive that you caught on to what this song was about so early🤘
scary music for scary history. I always felt that the way this info is presented in this song is so shocking that it forces people to pay attention and learn to not repeat history.
Right on you really understand Slayer guitar solos. Like tormented agonizing screams of the subjects they're speaking on
Slayer, Dayton Hara Arena, 1992, the whole floor turned into the most brutal mosh pit I've ever seen as soon as they started. People were literally getting dragged out of there unconscious. What a time to be alive. 🤘👽🤘
Edit: react to "Ghosts of War", probably my favorite by Slayer.
The firts time I heard that song was with the Grimlins II movie. Since then, I just can´t stop loving this sinister sound
I was there!!! Such a killer show!
And I take back my one comment because that live performance was incredible. I really forgot how good it was.
I'm chilean, Tom Araya the vocalist of the group is chilean and the band has most of the beginning of their albums talked subjects about nazi idiology and satanic verses, I'm glad you have the education to get to notice it and react to it more than just the music, thank you.
Exactly, there more anti-war , anti-organized religion, anti-communist, anti-abortion, anti-murder. Etc ...there kinda like hard-core hippies that belive in freedom.
touched by slayer for the very first time... thats a good cover.
Jeff hannemen had a grandfather that told him ww2 stories when young. Before he tragically died he had one of the largest collections of memorabilia in the world. This is a song against the deeds of them not pro nazi. They had a lot of negativity from it but once you read the lyrics you get it.
It is subjective but I would argue that it is not the *most* aggressive Slayer song by any means, but it is THE most iconic, recognizable and certainly the best-written (musically) from the "prime" Slayer days for sure.
And for that matter Reign in Blood is probably the best album produced during the second-wave of thrash-metal, and one of the 10 best during the heyday of all Thrash and early Death, rivalled only by the likes of Morbid Angel and similar caliber.
It's *still good today* to the ears of the younger extreme metalheads who were born in the 1990's and grew up in the "all-blast-beat era" listening to bands like Dark Funeral, Behemoth, or, say, Hate Eternal, I.e. the type who think Metallica isn't much heavier than the Beatles or Rolling Stones.
- *edit* in terms of "aggressive" this LIVE version has much more "punch" in the drums and bass than what is on the original album...they need a remix this way!
Quite possibly the best reaction video I've seen to this song.
Nice to see someone with the intelligence to understand the context of this song.... great reaction thanks.
Angel of death by Slayer, says be aware of who you are and your rights as a good person, you rights to Fly free. Do onto others as you would like done to you. Enjoy life. Fight for your liberty. But do the right thing.
It's Raining Blood. The album it and this song are from is Reign in Blood.
LOL i met them so many times since the 90's I always laugh when i see these kind of reaction videos !
I saw SLAYER live 10 times. The thing that doesn't come across is that it was extremely loud. You felt it to your bones. You could feel the concussion of the wall of speakers.
It's good to see someone who reacts the the lyrics itself and not only on the music. First time i heard this song i was totally in on the lyrics after the first verse. "Auschwitz,
The meaning of pain"
I don't know your age, but I've been listening to Slayer since 1983. I knew who the song was about way back then!
I was from a Polish family who fought and also were oppressed by the nazis with members being in camps.
Now I heard this song in yr 8 and loved it but at the time I was not privy to all the family history.
And I cane home and asked my mum what is Auschwitz?
She told me told me everything.
the greatest era to be a metal head.
Raining Blood is great! 🤘 After that "Repentless"! 🤘🤘🤘
I am 62 now and I still love the hard music CRANK IT 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Yes, all about the Holocaust.. Henneman was a huge history buff. Great song
You could play Slayer 100 years from now, and they would STILL crush the "heaviest" band of the time. They are the Alpha and Omega of thrash metal.
