Great run down on the MC9. Canik definitely seems to be the one to beat for value. I’d love to try this side by side with the Mete SF but it might be a while before I have a local store that’ll have the available to me.
I have the all FDE version. 500 rounds so far through it with zero issues. Love this gun and got my IWB holster arriving soon so I can start carrying after I put another 300 round through it

I finally got to shoot my mc9 a week back. I had one failure, but it was toward the end of 500 rounds and due to grip. Accurate, fun to shoot. Feels good
Finally found one in Kentucky for msrp and bought it up waiting for it to come in I have had 2 other caniks and currently still have my canik tp9sfx absolutely love it can't wait for my mete mc9 to get here
Canik 18 round mags will fit and function in Taurus g3, g2 pt111 and g2 9mm pistols, so I think the Taurus 12 round and 15 round mags would work in this model Canik, and promag 32 round mags work in sig sauer 9mm pistols and the Taurus pistols mentioned and the sig mags work in the Taurus pistols, so those should also fit and work in this model Canik 9mm.
Rented both the MC9 and the TP9 Elite SC and I shot better with the SC for some reason. Ended up getting the SC and have been happy with it. Might grab this down the road.
The sc is a great option for sure! Definitely shoots a little better as it has a little more size to it. At the end of the day find what you like and train with it!

I have it. Shoots exceptionally well. Very little muzzle flip. Shoots everything that I put init. Magazines do not eject have to pull them out. Customer service is not as good as the gun is. Thanks for your review !

If people have an issue with the rear grip near the Mag. All Canik needs to do is alter the mags slightly instead of retool the gun frame causing a bigger ruckus…

The shield plus is an excellent gun as well! Can't go wrong with either just depends on which one you feel more confident and perform the best with! Do you feel a big difference personally between the shield plus or the canik?
@@joshuarichford9936 definitely all about personal preference when it comes to conceal carry. There are a lot of variables. I love my shield as well but the trigger on canik edges it to number one for me. Both great guns though no doubt

@@primeddefender I can’t settle for less when there are better options. Give me a CZ or Canik and I’m good. My favorite 9mm pistol is my custom shop P01 Omega from CZ!! That’s my if I can only have one gun. I still have my G19 and always will but it stays in the safe

How much does the chamber loaded indicator throw crap onto the front of that RDS? This is the only negative because the Sig P365 series absolutely sucks on that point.
Depends a bit on what you like but for defensive I often do 24gr. I've also used quite a bit of Hornady critical defense which is 115 gr as well though
Mine is a Canik Meta MC9 Tennifer (don't know what the Tennifer stands for) - saw the gun and just bought it on a whim - The first 50 - 100 rounds using 115 grain, had ZERO malfunctions - however, the next 100+ rounds I'D have at least 1 failure to fire per magazine - SWITCHED to 124 grain yesterday and in 50 rounds, had 3 FTF and 2 failure to eject. I like the look and feel of the gun, but I'm a little disappointed to say the least.
Interesting I'm sorry to hear that! What kind of ammo as far as manufacture? Was it specific to one or across the board? Does your feed ramp look polished? I ask because I heard of a few that said once they polished the ramp it worked great but before it had those same issues
@@primeddefender 115 grain was mostly Winchester FMJ and a 50 Rd box of Blazers - the 124 grain was Fiocchi FMJ In the next few days I'll polish the feed ramp - I could be misremembering, but isn't the feed ramp super small/not much area to polish?
@@semperfi5857 I've had problems with fiocci in a few of my guns lately for some reason. A bunch of failure to feeds as well even in my m&ps and sig. I'm not sure what is going on with it. I switched to different brand and haven't had any more issues. And yes it's pretty small but I heard from a few people it made all the difference. Must be some qc issues going on. Hope it helps and keep me posted on what you find out!

@@semperfi5857 there has to have been a few that slipped through the cracks I guess as far as qc because my is no harder to rack than my shield plus or sig. That's weird. I've been using blazer brass for my 115 range ammo without any issues so far. Hornady defense for my defensive ammo. That's what I have had anyways want to try more to make sure. Also shot some sellier & bellott with no issues.
Mine has ran great with no issues at all thus far anyways. I like to put at minimum 1000 rounds through one before I trust it though. Thus far it is more reliable than my p365x was believe it or not. But I agree there seem to definitely be some with qc issues no doubt. Hope they all get worked out because the features on this gun are great and mine runs fantastic.
Just ran 300 rounds through mine yesterday 200 rounds Federal 115 FMJ 50 rounds of Magtech 124 FMJ 50 rounds of Federal 115 grain +P+ JHP white box it didn't malfunction once ran good

Yep! I use my Canik 17rd mag with +3 extension on my G3c Taurus.. 20rds in a G3c!

The MC9 has taken the place of my TP9 Elite as my EDC. But they are both phenomenal guns and this is coming from a Sig guy!
Canik is really crushing the game! I prefer these over my sig all day long

Always best to try them out first if you can for sure. I'm really liking this one but it definitely comes down to personal preference no doubt.

It's definitely a simple fix for sure. I'm sure places like Taylor Freelance will make something to fix the problem as well with backstraps and mags.

I've shot this three times and really enjoyed it. However, I'm conflicted as to whether I should buy it since I already own and love the Shield Plus.

I have both. They are extremely comparable. The mc9 shoots flatter in My opinion but the plus feels better in the hand

It's not terrible but it does do it. I cleaned the lense off around 300 rounds because it was a litte blotchy

This one is the holosun 507k. If you don't want multi reticle and just like the dot the 407k is great as well and a bit cheaper.

Hype? Hell, Canik's don't get enough hype. I own two and you cant beat what you get for the price. Best stock triggers for any pistol out the box.
I agree! My mete sfx and rival sfx have thousands and thousands of rounds through them both and have been flawless. Ton of value!
