    Here is something to consider when contemplating the MC9; unlike most micros on the market that have proprietary magazines that are stack and a half, the MC9 accepts the full size double stack magazines. So 18 round Mete mags will work as long as you do not slam it up in there. This has to be one of the most impressive feats of engineering in a micro compact. Great video Sootch, thank you.

    • @teamskdm1
      @teamskdm1 Год назад +3

      the micro compact magazine is the defining factor of what makes a gun a micro compact. this is closer to a g26 , actually it appears to have a larger grip according to handgun hero

    • @killacoiler1707
      @killacoiler1707 Год назад +7

      @@teamskdm1 according to the specs data, at its widest point it is 1.18" wide which makes it the exact size of the Shield plus width wise. So while it may not be in the sub 1" territory of the Sig 365 it is still considerably smaller than its big brother TP9 variants.
      I was at a local shop earlier in the week that has a rental range and has an excessive inventory of Canik pistols in every model configuration, and one of the instructors told me the Canik rep was there 2 weeks ago and brought a demo MC9 that they all got a chance to shoot around with. He told me it is significantly thinner than the larger Caniks and that if anything it was a mm or two more girth than the Shield plus and Hellcat Pro. He told me that it was by far the best micro 9 he has shot to date, that it was surprisingly less snappy than many of the others, and had the best trigger hands down. That is pretty bold and rather shocking given that it only has a 3" barrel. I was told they should start arriving on the shelves mid April, early May so I reserved one. Now it trying to stay patient until it arrives.

    • @killacoiler1707
      @killacoiler1707 Год назад +2

      @@tonyrogo227 do you know the specs for the rest of the micro market? The Sig 365xl, Hellcat Pro, Gx4 are all 1.0"; the Shield Plus, Glock43x, Canik MC9, and Mossberg MC2 are all 1.1". The Glock 26 overall width is 1.26", the M&P compact is 1.16" so are any of the micro compact really that much smaller than its bigger siblings? The answer is no not really. The p365 however is because the P320 is 1.4" wide which is almost a half inch difference. If you are going to squabble over 2 to 8 hundredths of an inch, IMO, the everyone has become petty as hell because you would need a micrometer to even measure that accurately.. Just saying.

Then I shot it at 24 yards from sand bags and 10 yards and 7 yards using two hands. Accuracy was impressive and reliability 100%. It did, however, shoot low and I haven't decided how I'm going to correct that. For the moment it can easily be aimed a bit high. I have long wondered that with micro nines, where the objective seems to be to cram as many rounds in as possible that manufacturers do not offer a .30 Super Carry option as well. From what I have gathered, apart from the extra capacity, ballistics are almost up there with the 9mm and slide pull is lighter which will aid those shooters with reduced hand strength.

    Great video. I have been pocket carrying the P365 for a while however I have found that "micro" 9s print in shorts partially due to width but also due to weight when loaded to 10+1. I have considered IWB however if I were to do that I might as well carry my CZ P01 which I prefer over any micro 9. Currently I am in the process of going back to pocket carrying a single stack 9 in the summer. It is about .1 to .2 of an inch thinner than the P365. Being thinner and having less weight of the extra ammo makes a single stack 9 a better choice for me in the summer. I carry an extra loaded magazine in another pocket.

    • @natjonestower3035
      @natjonestower3035 Год назад +1

      I have a P-01 too, as well as a Springfield Hellcat that I do pocket carry. Funny how they both have pretty much the same sized barrel but the p-01 seems so much more capable. When I need less print (summer, funerals, weddings, etc.) I go with the LCPll. That thing vanishes, and beats the heck out of a harsh word or a pointy stick. My current winter carry is along the same line, Springfield xd-s mod 2 45, IWB. It's basically a blend of the Hellcat's size and the LCP's capacity- single stacked and need to carry an extra mag. But it's a 45.

    idk it seems more like G26 sized than P365 or Hellcat sized to me. Actually just checked on handgun hero it is pretty much exactly G26 with a 12rd mag size and weight in all dimensions, just with a slightly shorter barrel which doesn't mean a whole lot here.
    Canik really should come out with a whole new model on new tooling that trims the fat off this guy, really get it down to P365 size but hopefully with an extra round or two like the Hellcat did and keeping the same excellent trigger Caniks are known for. If they could even make a DA/SA version like the full sized TP9's/Walther P99 that would be almost a guaranteed buy from me to replace my Hellcat.
    As it is though all I'd be getting from it is a better trigger in exchange for less concealability and more weight, maybe a little less muzzle jump but not enough for me to care since the Hellcat ain't half bad for it's size anyway. I like the fact I can rock the Hellcat with the flush mag under basketball shorts in the summer and that I can easily stash it with the whole holster along with the spare mag into my coat pocket in colder months if I don't want to carry my full sized Beretta, it's just so convenient as a tiny little hooker pistol over anything even remotely bigger.
